Steel Renewal

DL NO B2.001: The following job to be done in line with Repair of Caisson Gate. Renewal of steel structures comprising shell plates and angles of all curvatures , frames, beams, beam knees, deck plates, girders, stiffener, bulkheads, bottom shoe runner plates, by welding. Welding to be done as per IRS regulation. Material (MS Plates, angles, channels) shall be provided by CSL. All consumable are in vendor scope(like electrode, backing strip, acetylene, oxygen, co2 etc )

Pressure test Pressure testing of 4 nos. trimming tanks up to the Sounding pipe/Air pipe level of the tanks to be carried out after completion of all repair work of the tanks. After pressure testing water to be drained out from tanks and tanks to be cleaned.

Filling test Filling test of Ballast chamber to be carried out up to manhole cover after completion of all repair work of the tank. After filling test water to be drained out and tank to be cleaned.

Rivet head welding Ring welding of each rivet head/point as shown by QC. Water tightness of the rivets to be shown by hose testing. All consumables should be provided by vendor.

MS Doubler plate DL NO- B.3 Fitting and welding of M.S. doubler plates in way of shell plates wherever necessary, for shell plates and trunk ways of all curvatures, deck plates, bulk-heads etc. at all heights and locations of the caisson in an approved manner with all labours, required steel materials and all consumables. Steel plate will be provided by CSL but all consumables are in vendor scope of supply.

Walk way structure on main deck (Service cost only) DL NO- B.4 Renewal of Walk-way structure on main Deck including M.S. angles, Chequered plate, Flap plates by welding in an approved manner as per IRS/MMD Regulation. The rate should include labour,required steel materials and all consumables. MS Angle will be supplied by CSL and all consumables, chequered plat, flap plates are under vendors scope.

Manhole renewal (Service cost only) DL NO- B.5 2 Nos manhole cover of size 1200 mm diameter to be renewed along with all necessary materials including fasteners and gaskets, The Cover including Fasteners shall be made of SS304.

Removal of Kentledges DL NO- B.12 Removal of Kentledges, from the hold after proper marking and identification, out of the caisson/ shifting inside for attending to the repair/renewal work of shell plating or structural members of the caisson in way as may be considered necessary and relaying the same after completion of repair and painting work. (100 Nos considered)

Renewal and fitting of vertical stopper (Service cost only) DL NO-B.17A Renewal and fitting of vertical stopper timbers of both sides in place of old timbers as per technical specifications The rate shall be inclusive of bolt & nuts, washers, canvas and adhesive, dowel pin,etc. for fitting of timbers including checking of alignment by piano wire.( wood is 300 mm x 300 mm approx). The rate should also be inclusive of removal of existing stopper timbers. (20 Mtr considered) Timber Specification: Timbers should be first class, well seasoned Sal Wood (Shorea robusta), suitable for marine application of uniform cross section and reasonably free from defects like cracks hollow and sap. Guide and Stopper timbers of the Caisson are to be changed by proper sections of Sal Wood. Old timber to be removed and area to be cleaned as required, painted and laid with Suk canvas strips white lead stiff suitable adhesive after dressing the wood, the entire face to be accurately dressed to the satisfaction of the CKSRU representative. Timber to be supplied shall be accompanied by test certificate to be issued by Gov. Approved Test House. (Cross section of Guide of the Caisson is 200mm x 250 mm approx. Cross section of Stopper of NSD Caisson is 300mm x 300mm approx.)

Removal of Bollards DL NO- B.18 Removal of 2(two) nos. Bollards and 2(two) nos. Stag horns on main deck for repair of deck plates and refitting of the same after completion of repair work.

Replacement of Hatch cover (Service cost only) DL NO- B.19 Replacement of hatch covers with M.S. Cover, M.S. Rings, Studs, Bolts & nuts and rubber joints for Trimming Tanks.MS Plate will be supplied by CSL. All consumables are in vendor scope of supply.

Renewal and fitting of sealing fender (Service cost only) DL NO- 15A: Renewal and fitting of vertical and horizontal sealing fender by rubber at both sides in place of existing fender to match the quoin so as to ensure water tightness of sealing rubbers in the caisson groove. The rate should be inclusive of bolt and nuts, washers, cap, adhesive compound,dowel pins for fitting rubbers, etc. including checking of alignment by piano wire as per technical specification. The rate should also be inclusive of the cost for removal of vertical and horizontal fender (sealing), (Cross section 300 mm x 150 mm), minimum length of each piece to be 10 feet. General: Rubber fender/seal of various sizes conforming to relevant IS (IS 11855:2004 containing guidelines for design and use of different types of Rudder Seals for hydraulic gates and IS 15466:2004 for hydraulic gates specifications) would be procured and supplied by contractor and the fender should be capable of resisting over weather impacts and floating oil having (i) Shore A durometer hardness 65±5, (ii)tolerance of ±5 mm for the overall sealing faces, (iii)cross section of 12"x6" of 10 running feet each,(iv)free from any bubble, hole or crack. Test certificate from National Test House at the contractor's expense for the newly procured rubber fender/seals to be submitted by the contractor. a. Fitting : All rubber fenders are to be carefully scrubbed and cut to fit closely over all angles, plates, etc so that it beds on the steel work properly. b. Bedding: Bottom rubbers are to be solidly bedded in place with suitable adhesive compatible with the steel and rubber work. c. Joints & Bolting: Joints of rubbers should be vulcanized and sealed with suitable adhesive and joints around bolts & nuts should be sealed with suitable compound and made watertight. d. Washer: Large diameter thick suitable G.I washers should be fitted under all bolts heads and nuts. e. Holes for bolts: All holes in rubbers for bolts are to be carefully marked by fitting to the steel work and accurately drilled. Thereafter the holes to be sealed with solidly fitting rubber plugs by compatible compound. f. Chamfered corners: Corners of the rubbers are to be suitably chamfered. g. Dressing: After fitting of sill and face rubbers, the entire rubber face should have a smooth finish in one plane so that the water tightness in the Caisson groove is ensured.

Renewal and fitting of Timber (Service cost only) DL NO-16A.: Renewal and fitting of guide timbers of both sides in place of old timbers to match the quoin so as to ensure smooth movement with guide timber between the guide faces in the lock cambers. The rate shall be inclusive of bolts and nuts, washers, canvas, adhesive, dowel pins for fitting timbers, etc. including checking of alignment by piano wire. (Cross section of finished wood is 200 mm x 250 mm approx.). The rate should also be inclusive of removal of existing guide timber. Timber: Timbers should be first class, well seasoned Indian Sal Wood (Shorea robusta), suitable for marine application of uniform cross section and reasonably free from defects like cracks hollow and sap. Guide and stopper timbers of the Caisson are to be changed by proper sections of Sal Wood. Old timber to be removed and ares to be cleaned as required as required, pained and laid with canvas strips white bleaf suitable adhesive after dressing the wood, the entire face to the accurately dressed to the satisfactory of the CSL/SMPK' representative.Timber to be supplied shall be accompanied by test certificate to be issued by Gov.
