Clause : 1 Contractor shall not employ any child having age 5 to 15 years as it is prohibited by Child Labour Prohibition and
Regulation Act 1986. Hon'ble Supreme Court has given certain guide lines and as per the guide lines. If child labour is
employed on the site work, the contractor shall have to deposit Rs. 20,000.00 (Rupees Tw enty thousand only) in the child
labour welfare fund. If the employer refuses to deposit then action will be taken for contempt of Supreme Court Judgement
and also will be prosecuted by concerned authority. Because of the breach of any provision of child labour prohibition and
regulation Act 1986 by the Contractor & Municipal Corporation becomes liable to pay any amount then the Municipal
Corporation shall recover the said amount from the contractor.
Clause : 2 The Standing Committee has decided to deduct 1/2% amount from each running bill as per its Reso. No. 1783 Date
06--02-97, but the Municipal Corporation Board has recently decided that the actual testing charge is taken and the
remaining amount is refundable at the time of final bill (As per Muni. Board Reso. No. 123 dated 25-02-97)
Clause : 3 Contractor has to follow prevailing Labour act and has to maintain labour register acordingly,and has to follow
other govt.rules.
Clause : 4 Quantity taken in tender are tentative and may differ as per execution of work. No claim shall be entertain
regarding QUANTITIES.
* MODIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS
Modification of specifications and correction/corrigendum in respect of the work if required will be made by A.M.C. The
same shall be placed on A.M.C website which may be downloaded by the tendrers enclosed along with the tender duly
signed. These shall form a part of tender. The tenderer shall not add or amend the text of any of the documents except in so
far as may be necessary to comply with any addendum.
* ADDENDAUM/CORRIGENDUM .
Addendum or corrigendum conveying any change or correction in respect of the work shall form the part of the contract
documents. The full consideration shall be given to such addendum or corrigendum or correction before submission tender
duly filled in by the contractor. Therefore, the contractor shall have to watch such addendum or corrigendum or correction
published by A.M.C through its website www.egovamc.com. Tenderes shall verify the number of addendum issued and
enclose the same with the tender documents,failing which the tender shall be liable for rejection and no any complaint in
respect to this shall be entertained under any circumstances.

GENERAL CONDITION
1. Contractor shall produce the relevant registration certificate of AMC / State Govt /Central Govt.
2. Contractor shall register the work to labour commissioner as per labour act.
3. Contractor shall not sub-let the work without permission of the authority
4. Contractor should have sufficient skilled and unskilled laborers so that he shall start work at different sites
simultaneously. Contractor's having labour force available during festivals shall only apply. Contractor
cannot stop the work due to non availability of labour force.
In case progress is delayed, contractor shall be penalized 0.10% of Tender amount per day for work
done after time limit, maximum up to 10% for remaining value of work.
6. Advance payment / machinery advance will not be paid.
7. Payment of running bill will be made as per recent A.M.C. policy in force.

23. Collection of approved materials shall be done at site of work in a systematic manner. Materials shall be

damage, deterioration or intrusion of foreign matter and to-ensure the preservation of their quality and
fitness for the work.
24. Materials, if and when rejected by the Engineer-in-charge, shall be immediately removed from the site of

25. No materials shall be stored prior to, during and after execution shall be kept in sufficient numbers and in
good working condition on the site of the work.
26. All works shall be carried out in workmanlike manners per the best techniques for the particular item.
27. All tools, templates, machinery and equipment for correct execution of the work as well as for checking
lines, levels, alignment of the works during execution shall be kept in sufficient numbers and in good
working condition on the site of the work.
28. The mode, procedure and manner of execution shall be such that it does not cause damage or over loading
of the various components of the structure during execution or after completion of the structure.
29. All necessary safety measures and precaution (including those laid down in the various relevant Indian
Standards) shall be taken to ensure the safety of men, materials and machinery on the works as also of the

TENDER VALIDITY PERIOD:
The tender shall be kept valid for acceptance for a period of One Hundred Twenty Calendar days (120) from

GENERAL SPECIFICATION
Time limit for the work shall be 12 Month(Excluding Monsoon Period) after the order to start the works.
Progress of work should be in proportion to time limit.
The contractor shall be remain responsible for Workmen’s compensation if any accident. The contractor shall
arrange for barricading at night and arrangement of Pagi at night to direct the traffic. He shall be responsible for
any damage to public, If any incident happen, during the execution of work. In case of dispute for unseen or
overlooked items the decision of the Dy.City Engineer shall be final. The contractor shall have to give site clean
of all rubbish during the work and at the time of completion of work and hand over the site with final finishing of
the work as directed. All the rejected materials shall be removed from site within 24 hours by contractor at this
risk and cost. Debris shall have to cart daily from site.
If any extra item crops up during the progress of work the same shall be carried out by the contractor and he
shall be paid at the rate fixed by Add.C.E. as per the rate analysis based on latest SOR or if item is not
available in SOR than based on current market rates. In case of extra item decision of Add. City Engg. shall
remain final regarding rate.
If in the interest of the Corporation it is necessary to change either any site or the design of the propose work
the contractor shall carry out the same at his quoted rates without charges any extra and the contractor will
have to carry out the works and he will be paid at the rate quoted by him. No claim for extra rate for subsequent
changes in site and design is entertained.
Octroi exemption passes shall not be given for any materials required for the work. Contractor will be fully

PERCENTAGE RATE TENDER AND CONTRACT FOR WORKS ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS TO PERSONS
1. Competency of Tendered: No contract will be awarded except to responsible bidder capable for
performing the class of work completed. Before the award of the contract, any bidder may be required
to show that he has the necessary facilities, experience, ability and financial resources to perform the
work in satisfactory manner within the time stipulated. Contractor may be required to furnish the
department with the statement as to their experience and their financial status.
2. Tenderer will be deemed to have inspected the site and to have satisfied himself as to the nature of all
works, all existing roads water - way and other means of communication and access to and from the
site of work and the building that may be required for temporary purpose in connection with the
construction, completion and maintenance fo the works and must make his own enquiries as to work
yard, sites, depot and dumps and as to the acquisition of such additional sites and areas as may be
necessary for temporary purpose for constructing, completing and maintaining the works.
3. Payment: - The tenderer must understand clearly the rates quoted are for completed works and include all
cost due to labour, scaffolding plant, supervision, service work, power, royalties and octroi etc. and include
all extras to cover the cost of night work if an when required. No claim for additional payment beyond the
prices or rates quoted will be entertained and the tender will not be entitled subsequently to make may claim
on the ground of misrepresentation or on the ground that he was supplied with information given by any
person (whether the member is the employee of Engineering Department of Corporation or not). Any failure
on his part to obtain all necessary information for the purpose of making his tender and filling the several
prices and rates therein shall not relieve him from any risks or liabilities arising out o, or consequent upon
the submission of the tender.

10. Discrepancies and Adjustment of Errors: Any error in quantity or amount in schedule 'B' showing items of
works to be carried out shall be adjusted in accordance with the following rules :
(a) In the event of a discrepancy between description in words and figures quoted by a tenderer in the
'rates' column, the description in words shall prevail.
(b) In the event of an error occurring in the 'amount' column of the schedule 'B' showing items of work, as a
result of wrong multiplication of the unit- rate and quantity, the units - rate shall be regarded as firm and
multiplication shall be amended on the basis of the rates.
(c) All errors in totaling in amount column and in carry forward totals shall be corrected.
(d) Any rounding off of amounts against 'items' or 'totals' shall be ignored.
11. (i) It any please be noted that tender will be considered as invalid especially, if the requirements as per
instruction. No. 1 to 10 above is not complied with before submitting the tender. Also please read
carefully the face-sheet and General Rules and Directions for the guidance of Contractors of this form.
(ii) Right is reserved to reject any or all tender (s) without assigning any reason(s) thereof.
10A. The tender will be liable to be rejected out tight if the tenderer has filed in tender documents by ball pen
instead in ink.
11. In addition to the above the tender will also be liable to be rejected outright if
(i) The tenderer proposes any alternation in the works specified or in the time allowed for carrying the work
or any condition or correction made in any code or mode of schedule 'B' or specifications.
(ii) Any of the page / pages of the tender is / are removed or replaced.
(iii) The tenderer does not initial all corrections, additions or pasted slips.
(iv) He makes any erasure in the tender. And
(v) The tenderer or in the case of a firm, each partner or the person holding the power of attorney there of
does not sign or the signatures is / are not attested by a witness the tender in the space provided for the
12. A certificate of registration as approved Contractor should be attached with the tender.
12A. In respect of the tenders from the Co-operative Society, a solvency, certificate of an amount equal to
20% of the amount of the work put to tender will have to be produced along with the tender or a certificate
regarding the borrowing capacity of the society issued by the Legal Assistant, Directorate Cottage
industries will have to be produced along with the tender.
13. (1) The several documents forming the contract are the essential parts of the contract a requirement
occurring in one is as binding as though occurring in all they are intended to be mutually explanatory and
complementary and to described and provide for a complete work.
(2) In the event of any discrepancy, the several documents forming the contract or in any one document the
following order or precedence should apply:
(a) Dimension and quantities: -
(i) Schedule 'B' of the tender form.
(ii) Specification.
On drawing, figured, dimensions, unless obviously, incorrect will be followed in
preference to scaled dimension.
(b) Description:
(i) Schedule 'B' of the tender form.
(ii) Specifications.
In case of defective description or ambiguity, the Engineer-in-Charge should issue further instructions
directing in what manner the work is to be carried out, it being understood that the best modern practice is to
be followed. The Contractor should forthwith comply with such instructions.
14. The Contractor should take no advantage of any apparent error or omission in drawings or specifications
and the Engineer-in-Charge shall make such corrections and interpretations as necessary to fulfill the intent
of the plants and specification.
15. All the materials to be used in the work may be from time to time subject to tests as per relevant I.S. as
decided by the Engineer .
16. The board stating the detailed specifications and details of work as per Current circular of AMC/Government
Circular No.TNC-1090-24-S, Dated 17-08-2002, should be erected as directed on the site of work by the
contractor without claiming extra for the same.
17. Action in case of disproportionate progress:
In case of extremely poor progress of the work or any item at any stage of work which in the opinion of the
Engineer, cannot be made good by the contractor considering his available resources, the Engineer will get
it accelerated to make up the lost time through any other agency and recover the additional cost incurred, if
any, in getting the work done from the contractor after informing him in writing about the action envisaged by
him. The action may include blacklisting of the contractor based on the works and severity and decision of
Municipal Commissioner shall be binding in this condition.

GENERAL RULES AND DIRECTION FOR THE GUIDANCE OF CONTRACTORS :
1. All works proposed to be executed by contract shall be notified in a form of invitation to tender pasted
on a board hung up in the Addl. City Engineer and signed by the Addl. City Engineer. This form will
state the work to be carried out, as well as the date for submitting and opening tenders and the time
allowed for carrying out the work, also the amount of earnest money to be deposited with the tender
and the amount of the security deposit to be paid by the successful tenderer and the percentage, if any,
to be ducted form bills, it will also state whether a refund of quarry fees, royalties, octroi dues and
ground-rent will he granted, copies of the specifications designs and drawings and estimated rates,
scheduled rates and any other documents required in connection with also be open for inspection by
Contractors at the office of the Addl. City Engineer during office hours. Where the works are proposed
to be executed according to the specifications recommended by a Contractor and approved by a
competent authority on behalf of the Municipal Corporation such specification with designs and
drawings shall form part of the accepted tender.
2. In the event of the tender being submitted by a firm, it must be signed on his behalf by a person holding
a power-of-attorney authorizing him to do so.
3. Receipts for payments made on account of any work, when executed by firm, shall also be signed by
all the partners, except where the Contractors are described in their tender as a firm, in which case the
receipt shall be signed in the name of the firm by one of the partners or by some other person having
authority to give effectual receipt for the firm.
4. Any person who submits a tender, shall fill up the usual printed form including the 'column' total
according to estimated quantities, stating at what rate he is willing to undertake each item of the work,
Tenders which purpose any alteration in the works specified in the said form of invitation to tender or in
the time allowed for carrying out the work or which contain any other conditions of any sort, will liable to
rejection. No single tender include more than one work, but Contractors who wish to tender for two or
more works, shall submit a separate tender for each. Tenders. shall have the name and the number of
the work (to which they refer) written outside the envelope.
5. The Addl. City Engineer or his duly authorized Assistant shall open tenders in the presence of any
intending Contractors who have submitted tenders or their representatives who may be present at the
time and he will enter the amounts of the several tenders in a comparative statement in a suitable form.
In the event of a tender being accepted, the Contractor, shall thereupon for the purpose of
identification, sign copies of the specifications and other documents mentioned in this tender in the
event of a tender being accepted the contractor, shall thereupon for the purpose of indification, sign
copies of the specifications and other documents mentioned in this tender in the event of a tender
being rejected, the Municipal Commissioner shall authorize the officer concerned to refund the amount
of the earnest money deposited to the Contractor making the tender on his giving a receipt for the
return of the money.

Corporation and as per I.S. code for general practice and no proposals to adopt alternative methods
will be accepted. The Addl. City Engineer's decision as to what is 'the usual method in use in the
Municipal Corporation' will be final.
14. The Contractor shall have to attach to his tender, Income-Tax Clearance certificate to be obtained from
the Income-Tax Officer.
15. The Contractor will have to construct a shed for a storing controlled and valuable materials issued to
him under schedule A' of the agreement at work-site having double locking arrangement. The materials
will then be taken for use in the presence of the Departmental person. No. Material will be allowed to be
removed form the site of work.
16. No foreign exchange will be released by the Department for the purpose of plant and machinery
required for the execution of the work contracted for.
17. Controlled materials (Essentially Certificate)
(i) As regards controlled materials, the Municipal Corporation will help to arrange for the permit as
far as possible and help the Contractor in securing the same. All incidental charges met with in
procuring these materials shall be borne by the Contractor himself. Though the Municipal
Corporation will help to arrange for the permit as far as possible and help the Contractor in
obtaining materials, it shall not accept any responsibility for any delay or loss on account of
delay caused to the contractor while obtaining the same.
(ii) The contractor shall submit to. Addl. City Engineer on close of every calendar month, the
monthly returns in the prescribed forms as to the receipts and actual use of the controlled
materials during the month.
(iii) The Contractor shall permit the Addl. City Engineer or his representatives to inspect the stock
of the controlled materials stored by him at any time whenever the Addl. City Engineer or his
representative(s) so desire (s).
18. The tender for the work shall remain open for a period of (120 days) from the date of opening of the
tenders for this work and the tenderer shall not be allowed to withdraw of modify the offer on his own
during this period. If any tenderer withdraws or marks any modifications or additions in the terms and
conditions of his tender, not acceptable to the Municipal Corporation, then Municipal Corporation shall,
without prejudice to any right or remedy, be at liberty to forfeit in full the said earnest money.
19. The Contractor shall employ only such labour that shall produce a valid certificate of having been
vaccinated against small - pox within a period of last three years.

GENERAL CONDITION
1. Contractor shall produce the relevant registration certificate of AMC / State Govt /Central Govt.
2. Contractor shall register the work to labour commissioner as per labour act.
3. Contractor shall not sub-let the work without permission of the authority
4. Contractor should have sufficient skilled and unskilled laborers so that he shall start work at different
sites simultaneously. Contractor's having labour force available during festivals shall only apply.
Contractor can not stop the work due to on availably of labour force. In case progress is delayed,
contractor shall be penalized 0.1% of Tender amount per day for work done after time limit,
maximum up to 10% for remaining work.
5. Bitumen rate difference will be paid as per tender conditions, if applicable.
6. Advance payment / machinery advance will not be paid.
7. Payment of running bill will be made as per recent A.M.C. policy in force.
8. No extra payment will be made due to increase of central / state Govt. Taxes. Exluding GST as per As

relevant Indian Standards shall be referred to.
14. All measurements and computations, unless otherwise specified, shall be carried out nearest to the
following limits:

15. The distance, which constitutes lead, shall be determined along the shortest practical route and not

23. Collection of approved materials shall be done at site of work in a systematic manner. Materials shall

prevent damage, deterioration or intrusion of foreign matter and to-ensure the preservation of their
quality and fitness for the work.
24. Materials, if and when rejected by the Engineer-in-charge, shall be immediately removed from the

25. No materials shall be stored prior to, during and after execution shall be kept in sufficient numbers
and in good working condition on the site of the work.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
NAME OF THE WORK:- Providing and Laying Paver Block at near by area of Anandnagar
area,Corporate Road area and diff required area in Sarkhej Ward SWZ.
Item No.1: Box cutting the read surface in all sorts of soil, murrum to proper slope & camber for
making a base for road work including removing the excavated stuff & depositing on the road
side as directed upto 50.00 mt. Lead.
Any soil which generally yields to the application of pickaxes and shovels, spades, rakes or any
such ordinary excavating implement or organic soil, gravel, silt, sand turf loam, clay, peat etc. falls
under this category. For materials and workmanship for earthwork and excavation, relevant
specification IS: 3764 & IS 1200 (Part I) shall be followed.The depth of the excavation shall be as
per the item description.
Clearing the Site:
The site where the Development has to be carried out shall be cleared and all obstructions, loose
stones, materials and rubbish of all kind, bush; wood and all type trees shall be removed, as
The materials so obtained shall be the property of the Client and shall be conveyed and stacked as
directed, within 50-m. lead. The roots of the trees coming in the sides of the trenches shall be cut

extra payment shall be made for such precautionary measures, taken. The bottom of the excavated
area shall be leveled both longitudinally and transversely, as directed, by removing excess soil and
watering, as required. No earth filling will be allowed for bringing it to level, if by mistake or any
other reason, excavation is made deeper or wider than shown on the drawings or as directed. The
extra depth or width shall be made up with sand filling, as specified for the bottom level of the
subsequent finishing at the cost of the Contractor or as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.
The Contractor shall at his own expense and without extra charge make provision of supporting all
utility services, lighting the excavated areas, separating and stacking serviceable materials neatly,
shoring, timbering, strutting, bailing out water either sub-soil or rainwater, including pumping at
stage of the work. Excavated areas shall be kept free of water while masonry or concrete or relevant
base works are in progress and till the Engineer-in-charge considers it necessary.
Disposal of the Excavated Stuff:
The excavated stuff of the selected type shall be used in filling the excavated areas wherever
required inlayers, including ramming and watering, ensuring proper compaction etc. complete.The
Contractor shall remove the balance of the excavated quantity from the site of work, to a place,as
directed and for all lift.The lead is the shortest practical route and not necessarily the route actually
taken. The decision of Engineer-In-charge shall be final in this regard.
Mode of Measurement and Payment:
The measurement of excavation of excavated area shall be made according to the sections shown
on the drawing or as per sections given by the Engineer-in-charge. No payment shall be made for
surplus excavation made in excess of above requirements or due to stepping and sloping back as
found necessary, on account of conditions of soil and requirements of safety. The rate shall include
for clearing the site, surface dressing, making layout for road, fixing permanent grid points with MS
iron posts, embedded in C.C. 1:2:4, placed sufficiently away from the existing traffic lines and
establishing bench marks etc.The rates shall include for necessary shoring, timbering and strutting
for protection of sides of the excavated area, pumping out rain or surface water at any stage of
construction so as to keep the excavated area dry, to the satisfaction of the /Engineer-in-charge.
The rate shall include leveling and ramming the bottoms of excavations to receive concrete, etc.
including trimming to slope wherever necessary etc. complete.In filling clods bigger than 50 mm.
shall not be allowed. Only consolidated measurements of filling shall be paid. Consolidation to be
done by mechanical compactor as per relevant item.
Item No.2 : CONVEYANCE CHARGES-FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF MATERIALS (A)

The surplus earth, which is left on site after refilling and proper watering of the trenches,

the contractor as above AMC may carry out the same at the risk and cost of contractor and the

of the excavated earth.
The rate shall be for a unit of Cmt.
Item No.3 : Providing and laying cement concrete 1:5:10 (1- Cement : 5- Coarse sand : 10-
hand broken stone aggregates 40 mm nominal size) and curing complete excluding cost of
formwork in (A)Foundation and Plinth
1.1 Water shall conform to M-1, Cement shall conform to M-5. Sand shall conform to M-10. Stone
aggregate 40 mm. Nominal size shall conform to M-12.
2.0 Workmanship :
2.1 The relevant specification of item No 5.3.2.(A) shall be followed for the work except that the work
is to be carried out in cement concrete 1:5:10.
3.0 Mode of measurement and payment :
3.1 The concrete shall be measured for its length, breadth and depth. Limiting dimensions to those
specified on plans or as directed.The rate shall be for a unit of one cubic meter.

4.0 Workmanship :
4.1 The relevant specification of item No 5.3.2.(A) shall be followed for the work except that the work
is to be carried out in cement concrete 1:5:10.
5.0 Mode of measurement and payment :
5.1 The concrete shall be measured for its length, breadth and depth. Limiting dimensions to those
specified on plans or as directed. The rate shall be for a unit of one cubic meter.
Item No.7 : Providing and Laying of Rubber Moulded Paver Block Grey/Coloured 60 mm
thick, M-35 Grade of any size ; shape (Usually Uni-Paver Blocks) using black trap good
quality aggragate of 20 mm nominal size for footpath, parking areas, service lanes and
other areas as mentioned in the drawing / instruction of engineer in charge. Cost includes
formworks using rubber mould, Rate providing and laying paver blocks as per required
grading and specification. The paver block shall be mechanically compacted. The work of
paving blocks shall be executed in line and level by skill mason of flooring work only. It
should be laid in such a way that the no cutting of the paver block to be necessary. if cutting
of paver block necessary then it should be cut by machine only and carting. The finished
surface of the paver block shall have resonably good, plain finished. Paver blocks shall be
compacted and shall be relaid if necessary. Gravel or such type of materials shall not be
allowed for production. Laying on 5cms thick sand beddding.(AMC approved Rate )
The scope of work includes manufacturing, supplying and laying of precast paver blocks at various
Retail outlets. The work includes :Verification of the existing site condition and advising our
project in charge to lay suitable base course if required.
Contractors are required to satisfy themselves with quality of sub grade, sub -base course before the
paver blocks are laid and suggest strengthening if required.
Clearing the site by removing all obstacles such as stones, debris etc. for laying of paver
blocks.Manufacturing of paver blocks in your plant as per requirements in technical specification
enclosed.Supplying of paver blocks at site, including handling at both ends.
Laying of paver blocks at site as per requirement in technical specification, within shortest possible
time the site is public place hence care should be taken to ensure that the routine activities shall not
be disturbed. The job of laying may required to be carried out during night also.
Testing of paver blocks through reputed Govt./Non Govt. Test house and submission of test results
as per requirements in Technical Specifications. AMC reserves the right to carryout test at random.
Cost for such tests to be borne by party.The contractor shall guarantee that all material and
components designed, fabricated, supplied and laid by him shall be free from any type of defect due
to faulty material and/or workmanship/erection for a period of 5 year from the date of completion
of work. However, the contractor 5 years shall render free mintenance.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS :
I) Paver Block Manufacturing Facilities :
The Paver Block shall be made in factory with following minimum facilities :
1.1 Concrete Block making Machines :
The machine should be capable of producing high quality Paver Blocks by obtaining high level of
compaction by application of hydraulic compaction and also by high intensity vibration to the
moulds. The machine should have automatic control panel for uniformity in strength.
1.2 Concrete Batching & Mixing Plant : (Not essential)
The concrete Mix Design should be followed for each batch of materials. The concrete ingredient
should be mixed in concrete Batching & Mixing plant with minimum capacity of 30 cum/hour. The
plant should equipped with automatic control panel for maintaining water cement ratio from batch
to batch to obtain concrete of uniform quality and strength.
The plant should be equipped with adequate mechanism for mechanized loading of raw materials
into mixer and conveyor belt for transportation of concrete from mixer to concrete block making
machine to maintain quality of wet cement.
The factory should have well designed curing area to ensure adequate curing of paver
1.4 Laboratory (Desirable but not essential) :
The factory should have the following:
Compression testing machine of adequate capacity.
Other tools and equipment for testing raw materials and paver blocks.
(1). Systematic record of test results of various paver blocks manufactured in the factory.
(2). Concrete Mix Design for various grade of concrete used for making of paver blocks.
II) SPECIFICATIONS FOR COLOURED PAVER BLOCKS :
Coloured concrete paver blocks shall be manufactured as per attached specifications using
approved colour Pigment of “BAYER” Make “BAYFERROX IRONOXIDE PIGMENTS” with
minimum colour pigment of 3% by weight of cement. The colour shade shall be “RED” as selected
by AMC before commencement of the work. White cement shall be used for colored pavers to
obtain the desired colour shade. The job also includes providing 50 mm thick sand bedding to
match the shade of the paver block.
The colour of the paver block shall be guaranteed against fading of colour for period of 12 Months
(Excluding Monsoon Period)from the date of laying of the same at site.
All other technical specifications & Procedure for testing, laying & sampling of coloured pavers
will be as per attachment.
III) PAVERS BLOCK CHARACTERISTICS :
The concrete pavers should have perpendicularities after release from the mould and the same
should be retained until the laying.
The surface should be reasonably smooth and of anti skid and anti glare type.
The paver should have uniform chamfers to facilitate easy drainage surface run off.
The pavers should have uniform interlocking space of 2mm to 3mm to ensure compacted sand
filling after vibration on the paver S urface.
The concrete mix design should be followed for each batch of materials separately and
automatic batching plant is to be used to achieve uniformity in strength and quality.
The pavers shall be manufactured in single layer only.
Skilled labour should be employed for laying blocks to ensure line and level of laying, desired
shape of the surface and adequate compaction of the sand in the joints.
The pavers shall be of cement gray colour without any pigment & for coloured pavers refer
“specifications for coloured pavers.”
The pavers are to be skirted all round with kerbing using solid concrete blocks of size 150mm X
250mm X 380mm. The kerbing should be embedded for 100mm depth. The concrete used for
kerbing shall be cured properly for 7 days minimum.

SAMPLING AND TESTING PROCEDURES FOR PAVER BLOCKS.
INTERNAL – Average of minimum 3 samples per 5000 Blocks.
Essential – Minimum 2 Blocks per 10000 bocks..
1. Sampling For Testing
Sampling for testing of paver blocks shall be done in accordance with Appendix-A.
Compressive Strength
Testing for compressive strength shall be undertaken in accordance with Appendix-B.
The average compressive strength of the bocks tested shall be Min. 35 N/Sqmm.
Sampling of Paver blocks.
Method of sampling :
Before laying paver blocks, each designated section comprising not more than
blocks, shall be divided into ten approximately equal groups. Three blocks shall be drawn
from each group.Marking and identification :
All samples shall be clearly marked at the time of sampling in such a way that the designated
section of part thereof, and the consignment represented by the sample, are clearly defined. The
sample shall be dispatched to the approved test laboratory taking precaution to avoid damage to the
paving in transit. Protect the paving from damage and contamination until they have been tested.
The testing shall be carried as soon as possible, after the sample has been taken. As soon as
practicable after sampling. The samples shall be stored in water at 20 degree C ± 5 degree C for
hours prior to testing.
The mode of measurement shall be on Smt. basis.
Item No.8 : Supplying and fixing of 300 mm-L x 150 mm-B x 380 mm-H Kerb block for
Footpath in M-20 grade using 20 mm nominal size black trap aggregate of Sevaliya/Timba or
equivalent quality for pre-cast blocks, reasonably exposed finish/ formwork , mould with well
equipped with vibratory system for kerb stones of approved design including curing, etc.
complete, including the cost of formwork etc. complete. The rate shall also include necessary
cutting of asphalt, fixing the Kerb stones in line and level on 5 cm thick sand bedding with
necessary equipments and materials. The rate shall also include the flush pointing in CM
(1:3) for all joints of the kerbstones. Filling of zari alone the sides of the kerb stone fixed with
Bituminous concrete mixed in proper position as directed by Engineer in change to form a
portable mixture. In any case Gravel or such type of materials shall not be allowed for

Trenches of specified width and depth shall first be mode along the edges of the wearing course
of the road or along the line of pave block flooring to receive the restraint block.
The bed of the trenches shall be compacted manually with steel rammers or a firm and even surface
and then stones shall be set in sand bedding
The edge restraint blocks shall be laid with their length running parallel to the paving edge, true in
line and gradient.
The joints of blocks shall be not more than to mm and filled with the CM 1:2 (1 cement : 2 fine
sand/) which shall be cured for 7 days.
The edge shall be restored and all surplus earth including rubbish etc. disposed off as directed by
the engineer in charges.
Length of the finished work shall be measured in running meter along the edge of the paving
correct to a cm. Rate The rate shall include the cost of the materials and labour including stone of
specified materials involved in all the operation described above.
The mode of measurement shall be on Rmt. basis.
Pre cast concrete kerb Providing and fixing M25 Grade of concrete precast exposed / Fair
finish / texture finish kerb stones of approved make as per approved sample of any size and
any type. Kerbs shall be fixed on the foundation prepared as per approved design. The rate
shall also include for erecting and fixing the pieces in position for complete kerb system with
chamfered type of kerbs including necessary accessories of kerb like radius kerbs, angles and
quadrant kerbs, droplet kerbs etc. complete as per drawing. Kerb shall be fixed as paper joint
without any jointing material. However cement mortar shall be provided at the backside of
kerb stone joint. (Sample must be approved) Cost of excavation, cutting , base , side filling
shall includes as directed engineer - incharge in above item description as per BOQ (b)

Material: (1) Water shall conform to M-1. (2) Cement shall conform to M-3. (3) Sand shall
conform to M-6. Stone aggregate shall conform to M-12 (5) Pre cast kerb shall be of approved make and as
per approvedsample.
1.0 Workmanship :
All Precast exposed/ fare finish/ texture finish kerb stones shall be of approved make.Sufficient
curing shall be done before placement of the same.
The method of transporting and placing the precast members shall be as approved by
theArchitect and Engineer-in-charge. Members shall be so transported that no breakage orundue
stresses are induced in them.
The pits of the size 0.15 M in width and 0.23 M. in depth or as per site condition shall first be
excavated, true to line and level. The specifications for excavation shall be followed as per relevant
The pits shall be filled with a layer of 0.15 M. thick lean concrete M15. The kerbs shall be laid
on existing PCC base in true line and plumb. The specifications for PCC work shall be followed as
per relevant item.
The rate shall also include for erecting and fixing the pieces in position for complete Kerb
systems with Chamfered type of kerbs including all type of necessary accessories of kerb like
Radius Kerbs, Angles and Quadrant Kerbs, inlet kerb etc complete as per drawing.
The rate shall also include the flush pointing in CM (1:2) for all joints of the kerb stones.
Mode of Measurement & Payment:
The rate shall include the cost of material and labour for fixing the kerb system including laying,
jointing and finishing but excluding the cost of excavation, bitumen cutting, base PCC, zari filling
with bitumen material.
The Measurement of the item shall be in Rmt basis.
Item No.10 : Labour work for fixing interlocking blocks / any kind of pavement on up to
50 mm thick sand bedding, leveling, watering and fixing in line & level as well cleaning the
site etc. comp. as directed
Specification as per Item No. 14 only work as mentioned in Abstract.
Item No.11 : Labour work of fixing Kerb any design of central verge, (both side) footpath
kurb, items includes necessary excavation, asphalt cutting of any thickness, erecting in line
and position and pointing with cement mortar (1:3), watering, etc complete, filling with zari
along the side of the kurb, the kurb stone fix prepared with bitumnious top surface, as
directed by engineer in charge.
Work shall be carried out as per item description including cost of all labour and materials etc.
complete as directed. General standard practice of laying of paver block is applicable.
The measurements shall be on SMT basis.
Item No.12 : Repairing damaged M.H. and rasing M.H. up to road level incl. removing
damaged brick work and repairing by brick masonry in C.M. 1:5 and plaster in C.M. 1:3 and
fixing C.I. steps and existing MH sheet cover, removing the debris from MH and carting the
same as directed.
(B) up to 0.35mt. (@ Four Coarse)
This item relates to repairing work of above item of machine hole with fixing existing seat at
top & fixing pre-cast FRC cover (medium duty) repairing up to 2.00 mt. depth. This item relates to
repairing existing machine hole of 1.40 x 1.00 or 1.00 x 0.75 mt. size with removing first existing
seat & cover including demolishing existing loose masonry work up to from GF level to depth if
specified & up to same height brick work in CM 1:5 shall be completed & after of that work
plastering work in CM 1:3 shall also be done. Rate including fixing existing or new (if not there)
C.I. steps shall fixed at time of masonary work. After completion of brick work & plastering same
machine hole seat & cover fixing at top & casted it in C.C. 1:2:4 etc. Measurements shall be given
on no. of basis up to 2.00 mt. depth work.

(1:6) with 40 mm thick IPS flooring in the prop M15 at bottom and 15 mm thick cement
plaster inside the catch pit in the proportion of CM (1:3) with out jali etc. comp. as directed.

IN CASE OF WHERE IS NO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR THE ANY ITEMS AVAILABLE,
SPECIFICATION GIVEN BY THE ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE SHALL BE FOLLOWED AND FOR
THE SAME I AGREE TO ABIDE BY THEM.
