REPAIR MAINTENANCE TO DG SETS, AMF PANELS, EARTHING PITS AND OTHER MISC WORKS AT HQ SAC UNDER UNDER GE AF TRIVANDRUM

Periodical Maintenance/ Sevicing / Repairs of diesel Gen set installed under GE (AF) TVM for smooth operation of generator sets and ensuring the serviceablity by renewing the defective spares, settings/ caliberation etc for the following capacity Model/ Make by carrying out inspection /work by an authorised dealer of OEM complete all as specified and directed.

Engine Servicing/Gen overhauling (a) Checking the lubricant oil, topping up & changing filters if required (b) Checking the lubricant level and replacing if required (c) Checking of alternater, battery charging, fanbelt and adjusting/renewing if required (d) Checking/adjusting of sensers / controls of the Engine (e) Cleaning the cylinder head, lever, lube oil, gudgen pins etc (f) Draining fuel filter bowels to remove water/sediments and refixing with new gaskets after cleaning/ renewing the filters (g) Checking and tightening all external fasteners and arresting all leakages by renewing deffective nuts bolts washers etc whereever required (h) Checking and arresting leakages by tightening all lube and fuel/ hose connections by renewing defective washers

Engine Servicing/Gen overhauling (Contd/..) (i) Checking of air filters subject to 250 hrs running or six months whichever is earliest for renewal (j) Cleaning of air filter assembly (k) Renewal of all external rubber parts including radiator hose pipes, sir clips/clamps with nuts bolts etc (l) Arresting all water /lubricant/fuel leakages (m) Checking of all engine parameters and ensuring trouble free performance (n) Removing US spares and fixing of new spares including testing etc

Alternator Servicing (a) Checking lubricant in the bearings (b) Checking electrical excitation system and repairing if required (c) Checking alternator insulation values and tightning the electrical connections etc (d) Checking circuits of various connections (e) Cleaning the slip rings/brushes etc (f ) Removing US spares and fixing of new spares including testing etc

AMF Panel Servicing (a) AMF Panel will be maintained for good operation with the existing components. Any components found defective will be renewed and paid under relevant item of schedule. (b) Removing US spares and fixing of new spares including testing etc

Notes: 1. (i) Spares, lubricant, coolant etc required for engine, main alternator & AMF panel will be measured and paid seperately. (ii) Charges for Major repairs / top overhauling of engine, rewinding of alternator, alternator major overhauling due to normal wear & tear will be out of scope of the work. However the damages caused due to negligence of the contractor will be made good without any extra cost by the contractor. Cost of minor spares required for proper operation of DG set and Control panel shall be deemed to be included in the rate quoted.

Disconnecting the existing battery of capacity 12V / 100 to 150 AH from the DG set, taking it to battery workshop, draining out the complete unserviceable electrolyte from the battery, filling up with new Electrolyte to the required level, charging the battery, testing the battery for correct specific gravity, bringing back to the location, connecting to DG set, start the engine for satisfactory function all as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note : Contractor shall provide standby battery till the DG battery reconnected.

Note for Item No 62:- (a) Contractors or his representative / engineer will report to concerned Engr in charge in office moring hours to collect routine checkup/urgent complaint works related to DG supply till completion of work. (b) The urgent complaint/work shall be attended by the contractor immediately within an hour on recieving the complaint telephinically. (c) The contractor will provide neccessary tool & plant required to attend complaint of DG set and also provide safety guidline to his tradesman.(d) All routine / urgent job slip will be prepared and get signature of user's and will be deposited in office with in 24 hrs. (e) In case of any delay in attending the complaint more than 4 hrs after handing over of routine / urgent work, the contractor shall be liable to pay the penalty 1000/ per day or as described in penalty clause given here as under.

Note (Cond/-): (f) The penalty shall be applicable to the contractor if the delay is noticed by the Engr-in-Charge more than four hrs after handing over works of urgent nature to the contractor. (g) The Engr-in-Charge shall handover the slip containing specification of work to the contractor by lodging the time and signature of contractor be obtained on slip. (h) The contractor shall attend the complaint, immediately and shall report to Engr-in-Charge within 8 hrs. (j) The contractor will keep his tradesmen in stand by for attending any routine / urgent works from the executive in round the clock. If the nature of job is such that thework cannot be completed within period of 4 hrs then the facts shall be brought to the notice of the Accepting Officer and the period for the working to the complaint shall be decided by the Engr In Chrge / Accepting officer.(k) The contractor shall maintain a record of all urgent work at and if the work is repeated due to poor workmanship, he will be liable to repair the same without any extra expenditure to the Govt.

M&L for earthing complete with galvanised steel earth plate electrode 60cmx60cmx6mm thick, buried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25 mtrs deep below ground level) with top edge of the plate not less than 1.5 mtrs below normal ground level, connected to galvanised iron strip 25×4 mm as earthing lead by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanised iron or steel all as shown in electrical plate No 3 in SSR connected to earting test point all as specified or indiealed complete with excavation & earth work, PCC pit in cement concrete 1:2:4 type B1 with 50mm thick RCC cover (grade M-15) having suitable handle (10mm MS Rod) 20mm dia GI medium grade watering pipe with GI funned with wire mesh 40mm bore GI pipe (light grade) forprotection of earth lead conductor all as directed and testing on completion.

Taking out unsv UG cables pf any size and supply, lay, test and commissioing of LT UG cable XLPE multi stranded armoured cable with aluminium conductor for working voltage upto and including 1100 volts grade, in trenches/duct/ on walls/on poles etc incl. necessary Glands of suitable size and aluminium Lugs for fixing the cables of size 35 Sq mm 3.5 core

M&L for earth testing , identifying the earth and recording of test results in prescribed format all as directed by Engr in Charge. Each earth pit result to be submitted to Engr-in-Charge duly signed by user and MES rep for the following. Note : (i) Earth test to be tested in attendance of user rep and test report will be submitted by quarterly duly signed by both the parties. (ii) EP No should be mentioned on individual earth pits and ER value of installation etc all as specified and directed by Engr In Charge. (iv) Technician with required T&P/ Stationary (register) for testing of earth pit will be arranged by the contractor and no extra payment will be made in this effect.

S&F in replace termination sigle pointed aluminium rod of 12mm dia 300mm length fixed to earth strip any size including nuts, bolts and washers complete all as specified and directed the Engr in charge.

Material and labour for replacement of maintenance free chemical earthing comprising of one No chemical earthing with specifications as follows :- (a) Excavation and earth work for not less than 150mm dia hole at a depth of 3 mtr in any type of soil all as directed and specified. (b) Nickal sealed Copper bonded rod of 17.2mm dia x 3 mtr long x 250 microns of ISI marked ,IEC 62561-2:2018 certified. (c) Fixing of Nickel sealed copper bonded strip 25mm x 3mm x 100 Microns(Length not exceeding 7.5 M).Fixing of copper earth electrode by exothermic welding. (d) Mixture of earthing compound mineral based of IEC 62561-7:2018,RoHS & TCLP tested and certified with soil with capable of moisture content and make it in a tighty slurry form by adding water and fill it up the bottom portion. (e) Mixture of electra fill compound highly conductive carbon based RoHS & TCLP, tested and certified, with soil capable of moisture content and make it in a tight slurry form by adding water and fill it up above the previous mixture all as specified

(f) Add gravel at the top of the portion for easy passage of water and removal of air bubbles at the time of filling of electra fill plus and electra fill compound is necessary for easy dissipation of fault current. (g) Fixing of PVC earth pit chamber of size 24 x 24cm with M8 SS 304 grade nut and bolts all as specified.(g) Fixing of PVC earth pit chamber of size 24 x 24cm with M8 SS 304 grade nut and bolts all as specified. (h) FRP earthing display board 254 x 380mm made out of plasic material showing information related to type of earthing, earthing result, due date of testing along with fixing size 610mm height made of plastic hollow pipe of 20mm dia. Note (i) Rate of excavation and earth work shall deemed to be included in the item rate. (ii) Testing of earthing after completion of work and the result of each earth should not be more than 3 Ohm. If the result is more than 3 Ohm, contractor shall re done the earth on free of cost to achieve the desired value as directed. (iii) All the joints except at test point shall be done with exothermic welding. (iv) Earth tester for testing the ER value of earth pits shall be provided by the contractor. (v) Suitable soil capable for moisture holding as directed by EIC shall brought by the contractor and the rate of the same shall deemed to be included In the item rate.

Material and labour for replacement of maintenance free chemical earthing with specifications as follows:-

(a) Excavation and earth work for not less than 150mm dia hole at a depth of 3 mtr in any type of soil all as directed and specified. (b) Nickal sealed Copper bonded rod of 17.2mm dia x 3 mtr long x 250 microns encapsulated conductive concrete 50mm outer dia with vertical strip of ISI marked ,IEC 62561-2:2018 certified. (c) Fixing of Nickel sealed copper bonded strip 25mm x 3mm x 100 Microns (Length not exceeding 7.5 M). Fixing of copper earth electrode by exothermic welding/M8SS 304 grade Nut & Bolt all as directed.

(d) Mixture of Excel electra fill compound of IEC 62561-7:2018 certified, RoHS & TCLP Tested & Certified and soil capable of moisture content should make it in a tighty slurry form by adding water and fill it up from the bottom portion.(Appx 50Kg) (e) Mixture of Excel electra fill compound highly conductive carbon based RoHS & TCLP, tested and certified, and soil capable of moisture content should make it in a tight slurry form by adding water and fill it above the previous mixture all as specified.(Appx 30Kg)

(f) Add gravel at the top of the portion for easy passage of water and removal of air bubbles at the time of filling of electra fill plus and electra fill compound is necessary for easy dissipation of fault current. (g) Fixing of PVC earth pit chamber of size 24 x 24cm with M8 SS 304 grade nut and bolts all as specified. (h) FRP earthing display board 254 x 380mm made out of plasic material showing information related to type of earthing, earthing result, due date of testing along with fixing size 610mm height made of plastic hollow pipe of 20mm dia. Disconnecting existing earth connection from the pit and Material and Labour for excavation to adding earthing chemical (charcoal, common salt ) in alternate layers of 15cm compacted thickness one layer of magnesium sulphate 5cm thick above the charcoal and common salt and blalnce portion above he magnesium suplphate shall be filled with screened earth in layers including checking of connection and making good the defective correction with necessary nuts, bolts washers replacing of defective pipe protection GI wire, earth work etc all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note : ER improving GEL (6Kg bucket), charcoal and common salt, GI pipe & copper/iron strips etc shall be measured and paid seperately.
