SCHEDULE 'A'

(I) A comprehensive health assessment, adequacy and design of lightning protection and earthing systems should be carried out at Air Force Station Mukkinimala technical area at hill top under GE (AF) Trivandrum to ensure effectiveness of the respective systems and protect human being and assets. The general approach should include the following :- (a) Health assessment study of existing lightning protection and earthing systems which will include all necessary tests & measurements as detailed in scope of work. b) Checking adequacy of existing lightning protection and earthing systems (c) Gap analysis and design of lightning protection and earthing systems to meet standards and site requirement and application. (d) Effectiveness of entire grounding system such as measurement of earth electrode resistance - invididual & overall grid, soil resistivity, riser integrity, grid integrity, effect of corrosion, loop impedance and prospective fault current. (e) Carrying out soil investigation to assess the various parameters of the strata/various type of equipment and installed machineries to finalise the type, system, composition and quantity of materials and chemicals required to achieve the earth resistance value less than one Ohm in all climate continuously at least for 5years in the locations. The details of soil examinations the results, protocol, and the obtained values in tabulated form along with the clear technical specification of each type of earthing suits to different location mention here before to achieve and maintain the desired results continuously for a period of not less than 5 Years. The bidder has to clearly to mention three to four makes of the different components of the system conventional, chemical or any new version of the earthing system.

(f) In case the recommendation is only for one particular brand (proprietory item) a certificate of undertaking duly authenticated from the firm should also be submitted alongwith the recommendation and the test results. The rate quoted for the above shall include required number of site visits of the Engineers/technical expert of the firm during the investigation and at the time of execution by the same firm or by any other agency to ensure the quality of workmanship so as not to leave any chance for dispute over the chemical materials or the workmanship. The required number of earth pits and confirguration of the pits within the space available/allotted for earthing along with coloured drawing shall also submit with the report. The report submitted shall not share/published to any other agency and all the details must be treated as confidential. The rate quoted shall unclude to provide the required instruments tools,equipments and manpower for excavation/diging and making good the area after concluding the investigation by the firm.
