Tender for MS ladder with service platform in plumbing shaft of Student Dormitory in the New Campus, IIM Ahmedabad

Providing, fabricating and erecting MS ladder with service platforms in the New Campus, IIM Ahmedabad: a) Providing, fabricating and fixing the mild steel ladder with two numbers of service platforms in plumbing shaft for maintenance purpose as same as existing done in Dorm-19 & Dorm-21. b) Ladder verticals to be prepared by using MS pipe of diameter 42.40 mm (outer diameter) 3.2mm thick and steps of diameter 33.70mm and 3.2mm thick. Steps width to be kept 250mm and spacing should be 300mm c/c. c) Total floors of building is ground + three floors (height is approximate-12 mts) d) First platform size- 820 x 500 mm will be near washroom ventilator made up of box section 40 x 40 x 3.2mm with flats section in between of size 50mm x 5mm and supported on MS angle section 50 x 50 x 5mm. e) Second platform size- 230 x 800 mm will be connected to first platform fixed in nature. f) Second platform is made up of box section 40 x 40 x 3.2mm with flats section in between of size 50mm x 5mm and supported on MS angle section 50 x 50 x 5mm. g) Sizes mentioned above are tentative based on existing sample done. They may change during actual work with prior approval. h) Fastner upto 12mm diameter and 150mm length to be used. i) Corners of box sections and MS pipe to be closed by blanks. j) Welding for joints to be done for entire length. k) All the MS sections after sanding to be applied with one coat of yellow zinc oxide primer and then two coats of antirust enamel paint. l) No extra will be paid for wastages. m) It includes repairing of CPVC/PVC water supply lines if damaged during ladder erection work. No extra cost will be paid for such repairing work. Notes-Sample of the material to be get approved form IIM representative before going for mass purchase & fabrication. Providing and fixing scaffolding system (cup lock type) a) Providing and fixing scaffolding system (cup lock type) in the plumbing shaft up to four story height made with 40mm dia. M.S. tube 1.5 m centre to centre horizontal & vertical tubes joining with cup & lock system with M.S. tubes, M.S. tube challies, M.S. clamps and M.S. staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for the required duration as approved and removing it there after. b) The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features (Fall arrester, safety belt, helmet, safety shoes, safety jacket) for the workmen etc. complete as per directions and approval of Engineer In-charge. c) The elevation area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose. The payment will be made once per plumbing shaft irrespective of duration of scaffolding at any location. d) Safety board designating "Work is in Progress" around scaffolding system to be installed. Safety barricades & tapes to be placed aroud the area of work.
