REPAIR/MAINTENANCE OF CERTAIN RUNWAY WORKS AT AIR FORCE STATION TEZPUR UNDER GE (AF) TEZPUR.

Amount

Clearing shrubs, vegetation, grass, bush , weed, trees and saplings not exceeding 30 cm in girth,measured at a height of one metre above ground level. etc. from sides of runway, PTT, Links and Dispersal Area,including disposal of rubbish/ useless materials to a distance not exceeding 50 m and depositing where directed a level not exc. 1.5 m from the starting point, complete all as specified and directed.

Repair to cracks(1mm-3mm wide) in existing rigid/flexible pavement of dispersal/ runway/ PTT by cleaning the cracks with hand brushes or water under pressure and drying with compressed air etc. filling in the cracks with epoxy mixture of araldite and hardener,araldite 02 (Two) parts and hardener 01 (one) parts,complete all as specified and as directed.

Materials and Labour for,preparing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing,foreign particles,vegetations etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with mechanical blower to remove all loose dirt,foreign particles etc.including applying polymer modified bitumen emulsion using 0.30 Liter of PMBE mixed with water in ratio (1:1) per square metre of surface area as per manufacturer's instructions,complete all as specified and directed. Notes:- (i) All pores,pin/pot holes of depth upto 25 mm and superficial area not exceeding 491 sqmm on the flexible pavement surface to be applied PMBE shall be repaired by putting in premix Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC),Gde-II, with 6% binder content (Polymer Modified Bitumen,PMB-40) prior to application of the emulsion. (ii) PMBE shall be applied by a self-propelled or towed pressure sprayer equipped for spraying the material uniformly at the specified rate as per manufacturer's reccommendations. (iii) Application of PMBE shall be executed as per manufacturer’s instructions and shall be executed by the approved and trained applicator of manufacturer. (iv) Suitable care shall be taken to avoid spraying of PMBE over existing runway paintings/ markings,fittings & fixtures,any damage caused due to accidental spraying of PMBE over the same shall be made good by the contractor without any extra cost to the Govt.

Materials and Labour for preparation of old painted surfaces of rigid/flexible pavement (concrete or asphaltic) of runway,taxi track,links etc., painting lines, dashes, arrows, figures, letters, etc. on roads, pavements and the like exceeding 10cm wide with one coat of water based acrylic paint (white/ yellow/black) as per manufacturer's instructions,complete all as specified and directed.

Materials and Labour for preparation of old painted surfaces of rigid/flexible pavement (concrete or asphaltic) of runway,taxi track,links etc., painting lines, dashes, arrows, figures, letters,etc. on roads pavements and the like not exceeding 10cm wide with one coat of water based acrylic paint (black) as per manufacturer's instructions,complete all as specified and directed.

Materials and Labour for preparation of old painted surfaces of rigid/flexible pavement (concrete or asphaltic) of runway,taxi track,links etc., painting lines, dashes, arrows, figures, letters,etc. on roads pavements and the like not exceeding 10cm wide with one coat of water based acrylic paint (orange) as per manufacturer's instructions,complete all as specified and directed. Notes:- (Applicable for BOQ Serial Item No. 4,5 & 6) (i) The work shall be carried out through experienced & qualified agency(s). (ii) 1 or 2-gun airless line striping machine shall be deployed for painting works. (iii) Machineries deployed shall be got approved by GE in writing before execution. (iv) Preparation of surface and painting of the existing runway painthig shall be done carefully and the Debris to be removed simultaneously leaving No FOD so as to ensure that the Runway is available for operation immediately.
