MODIFICATION OF FOAM LINE TO PROVIDE ARAFFF CONNECTION FOR ETHANOL TANK FIRE FIGHTING T19

Desur Depot, located approximately 15 km from Belgaum town, serves 10 districts in Karnataka: Dharwad, Haveri, Belgaum, Vijayapura (Bijapur), Bagalkot, Bidar, Kalburgi (Gulbarga), Raichur, Koppal, and Gadag. During a recent OISD audit, it was observed that there is currently no existing ARAFFF foam connection to the RHVLR-5, which is essential for handling ethanol fires. The audit specifically pointed out the need for an ARAFFF foam arrangement to handle such emergencies, especially in the case of an ethanol fire. To comply with this observation, it has been decided to establish a new pipeline connection from Daughter Tank No. 7 to the inlet of the existing RHVLR JRCP. By establishing this new line, we will be able to utilize RHVLR No. 05 for both ARAFFF and AFFF foam handling, ensuring we are equipped to manage any emergency involving ethanol fires. This modification will fulfil the OISD audit requirements and enhance safety at Desur Depot. Work should be complete within 15 days from LOI/PO
