A- 750 Volt testing facility at PRTN
Supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of Distribution Transformer, 1000 KVA, 11000/750 Volt, three-phase complete with all accessories and foundation -The scope of work covers Design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 1000 KVA, 11 KV / 750 V, three-phase, 50 Hz, delta/star connected, outdoor type transformer as per IS: 1180 Part I, Energy Efficiency Level 2, oil immersed ONAN cooled, 1 complete with oil conservator, silica gel breather, thermometer, explosion vent and all other fittings and valves, OFF LOAD tap changer with +5% and - 15% tapings in step of 2.5%, bidirectional roller, diagram and rating plate, oil temperature indicator, winding temperature indicator and Buchholz relay with wiring up to marshalling box, lifting lugs, first filling of oil (Oil as per IS:12463), weather proof HT cable box, LT cable termination box, non-magnetic gland plate or Bus Bar termination as per manufacturer design etc. complete as per specification including 10% extra oil in non-returnable drum for topping up as required. (The transformer shall be subject to all tests specified in the specifications and relevant IS). Detailed specifications are given in Annexure-XX of tender document.
Supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of three-phase pre-cooling point, 415 Volt, with MCCB, three-pole, 125 Amp, heavy duty plug- socket, 125 Amp in outdoor type MS enclosure - The price shall cover for supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of three-phase, heavy-duty, power plug and socket, 125 Amp of BCH make (Cat. No. DS9A7A1) or similar model of L&T/SIEMENS/HPL with MCCB TPN 125 Amp, with thermal-magnetic release range 100 - 125 Amp, Ics = 100% Icu having 35 KA breaking capacity and conforming to IS/IEC 60947-2 with adjustable overload and short circuit 2 settings and inbuilt instantaneous protection and working on 415 Volt, 50 Hz, AC supply. The MCCB shall be supplied with spreader terminals and rotary handle. The power receptacle shall be equipped with five-pin, 415 Volt power plug of 125 Amp capacity. The entire assembly shall be mounted in a suitable modular enclosure, dust, water and vermin proof suitable for indoor/outdoor mounting and suitable for three-phase, four-wire, 750 Volt, 50 Hz supply system. The box shall be internally wired by suitable size PVC insulated, single core flexible copper multi-strand wire with copper crimping lugs. The box shall be securely mounted on cover shed pillars/wall with necessary M.S. clamps, nuts, bolts etc. The drawing, design of plug socket, switch gears with make and model shall be got approved by field in-charge before fabrication and supply of the material.
Supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of outdoor type LT Distribution Panel with incomer MCCB, four pole, 1000 Volt, 630 Amp - 1 No and outgoing Power Contactor, four-pole, 1000 Volt, 1000 Amp capacity - 2 Nos. The panel shall consist of 750/415-Volt three core step down transformer - 2 Nos for control circuit with Auxiliary contactor, four-pole, 415 Volt, 20 Amp and two-pole two-way rotary switch 20 Amp with copper bus-bar of 3 adequate capacity, indication lamps, earthing terminals, caution board etc. The panel shall be connected with Coupling Socket Assembly, 500 Amp, 750 Volt, three-phase, 50 Hz AC supply, suitable for LHB type AC coaches as per RDSO's Specification No. RDSO/PE/SPEC/AC/0177-2013 (Rev-0) with ratchet locking arrangement - 2 Nos for Inter Vehicular Coupler enclosed in stainless steel housing connected to the panel with electron-beam copper cable of size 150 sq. mm laid in heavy duty flexible polyamide conduit of suitable size with proper lugged and crimped termination as per RDSO's specifications. Detailed specifications are given in Annexure-XX of tender document.
Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of L.T. Distribution Board with incomer ACB, four-pole, EDO, microprocessor based, 750 Volt, 800 Amp - 2 Nos and outgoing MCCB, four-pole, 630 Amp - 4 Nos with three-core, 750/415 Volt transformer for voltage measurement and 4 multifunctional meter and all accessories - The price shall cover for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning L.T. Distribution Panel fabricated from 2.0 mm thick M.S. sheet, standard angles, channels etc. as required in design. The drawing, design, switchgears with make and model of the LT panel shall be submitted by the contractor in three copies and got approved by Sr. DEE (Power) Vadodara before fabrication. The LT panel shall be indoor, rectangular-cubicle type, dust and vermin proof suitable for three-phase, four-wire, 750 Volt, 50 Hz AC supply system. Detailed specifications are given in Annexure-XX of tender document.
Supply of single core 150 sq.mm, Electron-beam, irradiated/chemically cured, cross-linked, thin walled, flexible, elastomeric cable with 5 copper conductors - The price shall cover for supply of single core 150 sq.mm, Electron-beam, irradiated/chemically cured, cross-linked, thin walled, flexible, elastomeric cable with copper conductors for working voltages above 750 Volt up to 1.8/3.0 KV for coaching stock. The cable should confirm to RDSO's Specification No. ELRS/SPEC/ELC/0019 (Rev-3) with latest amendments. Copy of the specification is uploaded with the tender documents. The cable shall be of reputed and approved make if any. A copy of test certificate shall be submitted along with the cable.
Digging of cable trench 450/600 mm wide x 900 mm deep in all types of soil including hard, rocky etc. - The price shall cover for digging of 450/600 mm wide and 900 mm deep cable trench in all types of soil including soft, rocky as per cable route plan and filling back the trench after laying of cables. This also includes clearing of roots of trees and bushes and other temporary obstructions on the selected route.
Digging of cable trench 200 mm wide and 200 mm deep in concrete/tar road/platform and refilling of surface to its original position along with supply and laying of 160 mm diameter HDPE pipe - The price shall cover for digging of cable trench of size 200 x 200 mm deep on concrete/tar road/platform surface and its refilling/plastering after laying of cable in 160 mm diameter HDPE pipe of make Dutron/Reliance in existing trench.
Supply and laying of HDPE pipe, 160 mm diameter by pushing method under track/road - The price shall cover for supply of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe of 160 mm nominal diameter as per IS 4984-1995 of make Tijaria/Himalyan/Koncept/Poddar/Unique/Dutron/Reliance/Baba/Shivam with accessories required for laying such as coupler, bend etc. as per description 8 given in Annexure-XX of tender document. The price shall also cover for laying the HDPE pipes in the ground below the tracks/road by push through method at a depth below the formation level as indicated in the drawing supplied by railway. The term "formation" level means the earth surface just below the bedding of the ballast. In case of any hard/stony soil, contractor should adopt new technology method in push through method. Each length of the pipes shall be joined together properly using proper size of socket and aligned in a straight line, keeping an inclination to facilitate the draining of water.
Supply and laying of DWC pipe, 120 mm diameter - The price shall cover for supply of Double Wall Corrugated (DWC) HDPE pipe of 120 mm diameter. DWC HDPE pipe shall have corrugation on outer wall but inner wall shall be plain conforming to IS: 14930 Part I and II amended from time to time. The pipes shall be "ISI" marked. Accessories like HDPE snap fit coupler with neoprene 'O' ring shall be part of supply to make the joints water/damp proof. The strength and stiffness class of the pipe shall be SN4 and SN8 respectively. The price shall also cover for laying the DWC pipes in the ground below the tracks/road by push through method at a depth below the formation level as indicated in the drawing supplied by railway. Laying of cable in trench - The price shall cover for laying, testing and commissioning of LTUG armoured cable in existing trench/pipe and 10 its connection at both ends. The cable shall be tested with 500 Volt Megger earth tester before laying it in the trench. The cable cores shall be tested for continuity, absence of cross phasing, Insulation Resistance between conductors to earth/armour and between conductors. The results should be recorded in presence of railways' representative. A composite cable layout plan on ferro-print or computerized print duly laminated in A-4 size should be submitted by the contractor to this office as well as site in-charge after laying of cable. Cables shall be supplied by railways at site engineer's stores.
Supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of heat shrinkable cable end termination kit, 11 KV indoor type, three-core, 185 sq. mm for XLPE Aluminium armoured cable - The price shall cover for supply, jointing, testing and commissioning of 11 KV indoor type heat shrinkable cable end 11 box for 11 KV, three-core, 185 sq. mm, XLPE cable of DENSON/M-SEAL/CCI/RAYCHEM/SUPERSEAL make. The individual cores of the cables shall be properly identified to avoid cross connections of the core while connecting them to the corresponding phases. The contractor shall engage skilled cable jointer for making the end termination and it should be provided only in presence of Railways' representative after taking proper shut down. For termination of cable, proper size of cable gland and lugs shall be provided. The cable shall be tested with a 5000 Volt Megger before and after preparation of joint and the values shall be recorded jointly.

Providing GI earthing strip, 25 x 4 mm with PVC sleeve - The price shall cover for supply and laying of G.I. earthing strip of 25 x 4 mm size covered with black coloured PVC sleeve of super quality from earth pit to control/distribution panel board. The earthing strip when laid on wall, shall be fixed by means of suitable size of GI clamps and screws.
Providing copper plate earthing - The price shall cover for providing copper plate earthing made from copper plate of 600 mm x 600 mm x 3.15 mm thick (approximately) buried at not less than 2.5 m deep in soil along with charcoal and salt layer alternately. The earth connection should be 14 made with PVC insulated stranded copper conductor of 16 mm2 from earth electrode to earthing bus bar/apparatus. The earth pit shall be 4 m away from the other earth pits and at least 30 m away from the earth pit of Lightning Arrestor. The potential difference between earth and neutral of filtered/stabilized source should be less than 2 Volt. The earthing installation should be provided with RCC circular box with cover and G.I. "J" bolts. The earthing should be carried out as per IS 3043/1987 or latest and relevant I.E. regulations. The contractor shall maintain the earth resistance below 0.5 and joint testing report along with railways' representative shall be submitted to the site-in-charge.
Providing maintenance free earthing - The price shall cover for providing maintenance free earthing as per the following specifications - 1. High tensile-low carbon steel rod having diameter not less than 17 mm complying with requirements of BS 4360 Grade 43A or EN10025:2-004 S275JR, molecularly bonded by 99.99% pure high conductivity copper on outer surface with copper coating thickness of 250 micron or more, Length 3000 mm (minimum). Certificates from NABL approved labs shall be submitted with test results. 2. Copper earth bus-bar of size 250 mm x 50 mm x 6 mm having electrical conductivity of 101% IACS, minimum 99.9% copper content shall be exothermically welded to rod with 4 holes of 12 mm diameter (two on each side) for connecting earthing conductor. 3. Earth Enhancement compound should have characteristics as mentioned in the RDSO specifications. It should have low resistivity preferably below 0.2 Ohm-meter, supplied in sealed bags (minimum 75 kg per pit for 5' x 5' x 10' size pit and minimum 50 kg per pit for 300 mm bore type pit. The bags shall be marked with manufacturer's name or trade name, quality, Batch No. and date of manufacture. Certificates from NABL approved labs shall be submitted with test results, for at least following parameters - a. Composition of Earth Enhancement compound b. Resistivity - < 2 Ohm-meter c. pH value - > 7 but < 9 d. Moisture retaining capacity - > 10% at 105 degrees Celsius e. Water solubility - < 5% 4. Backfill 15 material - Good quality soil or excavated soil free from sand, gravel and stones shall be used for backfilling. 5. Earth pit of size 5 feet x 5 feet x 10 feet or min 300 mm bore up to 10 feet using earth auger shall be made. 6. Inspection chamber - A concrete box of 300 x 300 x 300 mm (inside dimensions) and 50 mm thickness of wall, with smooth cement plaster finish shall be provided on the top of the pit. A concrete lid, painted black, approximately 50 mm thick with pulling hooks shall be provided to cover the earth pit. PVC sleeve shall be provided in concrete wall to take out earthing connections. 7. On backside of the cover, date of the testing and average resistance value shall be written with yellow paint on black background. 8. Instead of copper bus- bar and strips mentioned in the drawing, a GI main bus-bar of minimum size 300 mm x 75 mm x 8 mm to be installed on nearby wall etc. It shall be connected to earthing with two GI strips of 50 mm x 6 mm size each, up to a distance of 10 meters from earth bus-bar (minimum 3 meters x 2 Nos GI strips to be supplied). 9. Earthing shall generally be carried out in accordance with the requirement of I.E. Rules, 1956, as amended from time to time and shall confirm to IS: 3043 of 1987 with latest amendment. 10. The earth value shall be measured and recorded at the site by painting on earth pit or nearest wall along with date of testing. It shall be less than 2 Ohms and neutral to earth voltage shall be less than 3 Volt. 11. Earthing performance after a year of installation shall be jointly checked and measured. It should be less than 2 Ohm. 12. General arrangement of the earth system is given in Annexure-XX of tender document.
