NAME OF WORK : MICRO SURFACING WORK OF DIFFERENTS ROADS OF WEST ZONE IN AHMEDABAD
BILL OF QUANTITES
INSTRUCTION TO TENDERERS
1) The bill of Quantities shall be read in conjunction with the Instructions to Bidders, General and Special
Conditions of Contract and Technical Specification.
2) The quantities given in the Bill of Quantities are estimated and provisional and are given to provide a
common basis for bidding. The basis of payment will be the actual quantities of work ordered and
carried out, as measured by the contractor and verified by the Engineer.
3) The bidder must quote his rate above/below the estimated rate specified in the Bill of Quantities part
for each item of work both in words and figures.
4) The rates and prices quoted in Bid in the priced Bill of Quantities, except in so far as it is otherwise
provided under the Contracat, include all constructional plant, labour, supervision, materials, erection,
maintenance, insurance, profit, taxes and duties, together with all general risks, liabilities and
obligations set out or implied in the Contract and including remedy of any defects during the Defects
Liability Period.
5) All rates and sums of money quoted in the Bill of Quantities shall be in Indian Rupees (Rs) rounded to
the nearest whole number.
6) A rate or price shall be entered against each item in the priced Bill of Quantities, whether quantities are
stated or not. The cost of items against which the Contractor has failed to enter rate or price shall be
deemed to be covered by other rates and prices entered in the Bill of Quantities.
7) The whole cost for complying with the provisions of the Contract shall be included in the items
provided in the Bill of Quantities. Where no items are provided, the cost shall be deemed to be
distributed among the rates and prices entered for the related items of work.
8) General directions and descriptions of work and materials are not necessarily repeated not
summarized in the Bill of Quantities. Reference to the relevant sections of the contract documentation
shall be made before entering prices against each item in the price Bill of Quantities.
9) The method of measurement of completed work for payment shall be in accordance with the
requirements as stated in the individual sections of the Technical Specifications.
10) Errors will be corrected by the Employer for any arithmetical errors pursuant to Clause 25 of the
Instructions to Bidder.
11) The Specification numbers stated in the detailed description of items of works against each item are
indicated for guidance of the Bidders. However, any of the specification alludes to the specifications
referred to in the Bill of Quantities and/or any other specifications from Vol.1 “Technical Specifications”
which in the opinion of the Engineer are applicable for particular item is deemed to have been included
in the scope of item and fully covered by rates quoted for the items. In case of any discrepancies
between provisions stated in the description of individual items and those covered by the technical
specifications, the provisions in the description of item shall have preference.
13) The units of measurement described in the Bill of Quantities are metric units.

1. Having examined the site of works and Bid Documents, comprising Instructions to Bidders, Scope of works, Conditions
of Contract, Technical Specifications, Bill of Quantities I/we, the undersigned offer to execute and complete such
works and remedy any defects therein in conformity with the said bid documents for the sum of Rs.
ascertained in accordance with the said Bid documents.
2. We undertake, if our Bid is accepted, to commence the work within Fifteen (15) days of receipt of the order to
commence, and to complete and deliver the sections and whole of the works comprised in the Contract within the
period stated in the bid hereto.
3. If our Bid is accepted, we will furnish Performance Security (ies) in the form of a Bank
Guarantee to be jointly and severally bound on us, in accordance with the Conditions
4. We agree to abide by this Bid for the period of One Hundred & Twenty (120) days from the last date fixed for Bid
Submission and it shall remain binding upon us and may be accepted at any time before the expiry of that period.
5. We confirm our agreement to treat the Bid documents and other records connected with the works as secret and
confidential documents and shall not communicate information contained therein to any person other than the
person authorised by the
Employer or use such information in any manner prejudicial to the safety and integrity of the works.
6. Unless and until an agreement is prepared and executed, this Bid, together with your
written acceptance thereof, shall constitute a binding Contract between us, but without prejudice to your right to
withdraw such acceptance without assigning any reasons thereof.
7. We understand that you are not bound to accept the lowest or any bid you may receive.
