SERVICE ITEMS

Repair of OFC defects in existing optical fibre cable already laid along the pipeline in various stretches .The job includes locating OFC defects/joint losses by taking OTDR , exposing the cable by excavation/trenching in all kinds of soil including rock, repairing the cut/damaged OFC by splicing and restoring the trenches in original condition, checking , ensuring continuity of OFC with acceptable losses as per direction of site engineer/EIC. Supply and installation of all required materials for repair such as joint kit, Fid marker( with stamping from owner's electronic marker cum locator) , RCC joint box etc shall be in scope of contractor. OFC cable if required for repair works shall be provided by owner. All the test/repair equipments such as OTDR machine, splicing machine, tools/tackles,labour,consumable necessary for performance of work shall be arranged by the contractor. supply of joint kit, Rfid marker shall be as per approved make in the tender.

Laying of HDPE pipe (excluding blowing of OFC) in mainline pipe trench at the bottom in all types of soil (including roads, canals, rivers, nullahs, water course crossings, submerged crossings, saltpan areas etc.) including supply and installation of suitable straps for strapping the HDPE duct with mainline pipe for anti buoyancy, installation of HDPE duct accessories such as plastic couplers, end caps, end plugs, cable sealing plugs, supply and installation of warning tape, consumable guide rods, HDPE jointing, inspection of HDPE joints, testing the installed HDPE duct by blowing "mandrel" with compressed air, pressure testing the HDPE pipe after laying as per procedure and performing all work as per drawings, specifications and instruction of the Engineer-in-charge/ Site Engineer and provisions of the contract document for making the duct ready in all respect for OFC blowing. The job includes transportation, loading and unloading of HDPE ducts in nominal length of 1000 meters and duct accessories such as couplers, end caps, end sealing plugs etc. to various sites along the entire ROW / HDD crossing locations as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge/ Site Engineer

Blowing of OFC through laid HDPE, post installation testing of OFC for each fibre for drum laid & maintaining OTDR traces as per the scope, specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge/ Site Engineer

Installation of wall mounted Fibre Termination Box (FMS) as per tender specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge/ Site Engineer

Splicing rate per fibre as per scope mentioned in tender specifications

Opening of existing joint pit (24 Fibre), after excavation, for testing/ rectification of fibre and its reinstatement by splicing / re-splicing and backfilling of excavated soil and OTDR traces from joint pit if required complete in all respects as per tender specifications

Hop testing, end to end testing, trial run of complete link and OTDR traces submission after rectification of all OFC joints.
