a) The soling shall not include continuous lateral tread pattern or only other features, such as shaded corners at the base of the sole pattern, which may accelerate or cause premature crack. formation.

The hardness of the sole shall be measured in not less than 4 days but not more than 90 days after molding and when tested in accordance with the method prescribed IS 12240 1988 after conditioning shall be within 70 +/-10 shore 'A'/IRHD
7. Volatility:-
When tested in accordance with IS 12240(Part 2): 1988 usingpieces of PVC compound taken from soling componentsrespectively, the mean loss in mass of the three test pieces shall not exceed 2.0 percent.
8. Lead Content:-
The lead contain (as pb) shall not be more than 2 ppm where determined in accordance with the method prescribed in IS 12240(Par 5): 1988
9. Resistance cut Growth (Flexing test) for Sole:
When part of sole are tested in accordance with the method prescribed in IS 12240(Part 7):1988 the cut growth shall not be more than300 percent after test piece is subjected ta 150000 flex cycles.
10. Resistance to flexing for Upper:
