CONSULTANCY SERVICE FOR PLANNING AND DESIGN OF ROAD BRIDGE CULVERT, DRAIN, RETAINING WALL PROTECTIVE WORK PH II OF THREE PHASES AT LOHITPUR

Detailed engineering and consultancy service for planning and design of Road/ Bridge/Culvert, Drain, Retaining wall/ Protective work of complete area as indicated in site plan having approximate area of 2.44 Sq KM, as follows: (A) Drainage planning and design: a) Planning of drain for collection of water from outward steep slope into the Bldg area and channelising the water into nearby drain. b) Planning of drains for collection of rain water in Bldg area and channelising in near by nalah or main drain. c) Suggesting suitable type of drain including Brick drain/RCC drain and designing the same as per soil data/site condition and relevant codal provision. d) Consultant shall also submit the ground level alongwith the alignment of the drain and invert level of the drain.

(B) Protective Work: Carrying of assessment of area as per site plan available at GE Office for suggestion of retaining structure to be adopted for formation cutting for road/bldg as per under mentioned criteria: a) Retaining Structure shall be planned as per IS 14458 Part-1 to 10 and structural drawing shall be prepared accordingly. b) The design of retaining structure like breast wall, dry stone wall/RCC crip wall, RCC cantilever wall with or without counterfort etc. c) The retaining structure shall be designed as per IS 456-2000, IS-875-1987, IS-1390 2016 and other relevant codal provision and structural drawing shall be prepared accordingly. (C) Details of design of in road, out road and peripherial road: 1. Planning of road, including culvert, bridges where ever required with following parameters (Road layout tentatively marked on site plan is available at GE Office): a) Terrain- Mountainous, b) Design- Ruling design speed for mountainous terrain 30 KM/Hr, c) Width of Road- 5.5 mtr/ 3.65 mtr d) Shoulder width- 1 mtr e) Drain on both side in box structure and on one side on hill side. f) Corridor width - 1.5 mtr each side for HT line and water supply line. g) Pavement camber- 1.7 to 2%, h) Sight distance - Safe stopping sight distance 30 mtr. j) Superelevation - Superelevation should be limited to 7%. k) Design of horizontal curve shall be as per clause 9.2 of IRC 73. l) Design of transition curve shall be as per clause 9.5 of IRC 73. m) Gradient of road will be as per table 19 of IRC 73. n) The vertical curves as per clause 10.3 of IRC 73. o) The design criteria for hair pin bands will be as per clause 10.6 as per IRC 73. p) Loading - Class AA, Length of vehicle - 18.00 mtr. 2. The tentetive alignment of road marked in site plan has been carried out as per site condition, however final alignment of road shall be prepared by the consultant. Any variation in cross section of proposed road wrt to cross section mentioned in the running contract to be submitted by consultant.

3. Designing of culvert/bridge and other civil structure wherever required will be planned by the consultant. Necessary soil investigation will also be carried out by consultant at required location as per IS 456-2000, IS 875-1987, IS 1390-2016 and other codal provision for asertaining the SBC of soil and same shall be measured under relevant item 4. Consultant shall also submit the ground level along the alignment of the road and final formation levels. Notes: 1. Site plan duly marked with location of building, road, and external services around the buildings and tentative alignment of the approach roads is availabe at GE Office. 2. Tentative contour map of site at 3 mtr interval is availabe at GE Office. 3. Two contracts bearing CA No. CESZ/LHP/10 OF 2022-23 and CESZ/LHP/32 OF 2022-23 are under progress at site. The proposed work will be executed under the said contracts. 4. Soil investigation required for designing of civil structure has to be carried out by consultant as per IS 1892-2002, IS 1498-1970 and IS 2070 Part-I to XXV and other relevant IS codes provision. The consultant shall got approved the Nos and location of bore holes, plate load test, inspection pit, etc from GE before carrying out soil investigation. 5. Consultant shall carry out RCC structural design and prepared structural Drg of proposed civil structures as per IS - 456:2016, IS- 1390-2016, IS - 875- 1987 code and other relevant IS codal provision. 6. The basic parameter for structural design shall be got approved from GE and E2 (Design) section of HQ CE Shillong Zone before proceeding with structural designing and drawing. 7. The road alignment and cross section design shall be as per relevant IRC and as directed by GE, 8. The drain for the work shall be designed so that peak run off at the time of rainy season will be channalised to the natural drain without affecting the civil structures under construction/constructed. 9. Consultant shall visit the site prior to bidding and the rate quoted shall include the cost of site visit of technical personels of consultant even after final submission of the report as an when required during currency of project untill completion of project. 10. Any variation or changes required in report submitted by the consultant during the currency of the ongoing project till completion is required to be adressed by the consultant. 11. The site of work falls under seismic zone V. 12. Consultant shall submit the BOQ alongwith calculation details for proposed drain, road, protective works and other civil structures. 13. The proposed alignment of road and drain shall be approved by GE before finalization of its design and other related structure for its stability.

Carrying out soil Investigation as per relevant IS complete all as specified and directed including the following:- (a) Boring 150mm dia hole at various locations as shown at Site by Engineer-in-Charge in any kind of soil but excluding rock, collection of undisturbed sample at every 1.00m depth, Collection of disturbed sample at suitable depth as required at site. Conducting standard penetration test as per relevant IS as an interval of 1.50m
