Dry Dry docking for 90 days Carryout dry docking of ship as per Navy approved docking plan. Job includes docking charges for first day, docking/undocking, Mooring/Unmooring, line handling required during docking/undocking operations & crane services. Provisioning of gate entry passes for ND(Mbi)/ship staff/OEMs/ND(Mbi) registered subcontractors on production of valid documents.
Provide services of Tugs and Pilotage for undertaking dry docking of ship and towing of ship from Naval Jetty to dry dock and back view Ship does not have propulsion system operational.
Arrangement of Dock Blocks for Dry Docking. Shipyard to collect approved docking plan of ND(Mbi) and provision & lay dock blocks as per the plan. Any modification undertaken by the Shipyard in this plan would entail a new docking plan to be prepared and submitted to Indian Navy for approval atleast two weeks in advance. The main jobs are:- (a) Laying of suitable dock blocks (Shipyard supply) as per approved docking plan and general dry docking practices (References: Def Stan 850, NO(Str) 01/11 and IN policy advisories). (b) Undertake dock block checks and the same to be endorsed by an IACS member classification society representative. (c) Follow all guidelines enumerated in NO (Str) 01/11 and IN policy advisory during the docking/ undocking. (d) Transportation and positioning of Ballast weights for trim/ heel corrections.
Dry dock hire charges for subsequent days
Fitment of wooden plugs with carry away pipes on scuppers.
Uninterrupted power supply Shore supply arrangements including connection/ disconnection of power cables for un-interrupted power supply. Approximate load 300KW, 3 Phase, 380V, 50Hz. Cables would be provided by Indian Navy. Shipyard to maintain log book. Payment on actuals.
Hiring of Mobile Generators: Hiring of One mobile generator of capacity 300KW including fuel, operators and connection/ disconnection of power cables whenever required. Payment on actual number of days used.
Fire Main Services: Provisioning of fire main services to ship, 02 lines with fire main pressure 80 PSI. Connection/ disconnection of hoses whenever required.
Provisioning of Fresh water supply, Shipyard to position 2 tanks each of 2 Tons for storing fresh water and to be filled twice in a day. These would be positioned on the jetty adjacent to the ship.
02 Refit office space for ND (Mbi) and Ship staff for entire duration of Dry Dock period.
Staging for ND(Mbi)/Ship Staff, if required, to be charged on actuals: Conventional staging: (a) 01-05 Mtr Height (b) 06-10 Mtr Height (c) 11-15 Mtr Height (d) 16-20 Mtr Height
Solid Staging from Aft of A Bracket to Fwd of Stern Tube, to be used for Shafting work on both Port and Stbd sides (20x2=40mtr). Quote per running meter. Payment on actuals.
Under Water Hull Cleaning: Hydro jet cleaning of entire underwater hull including all appendages and boot top area to remove marine growth and loose paint etc. Allowed for HP washing. Pressure upto 3000 PSI
Renewal of sacrificial Anodes; Renewal of sacrificial anodes in UW Hull as well as inside tanks. Anodes will be provided by Navy. The anodes are to be collected by Shipyard from ND(Mbi).
Gratings: Carryout Removal, cleaning and paintings of gratings
Provide 27 seater mini bus for ship staff/dockyard workers not exceeding for 12 hrs/80km/day)
Gratings: Carryout renewal of gratings. Payment on actuals
Sea Chests: Carryout removal of mud and marine growth, scrapping & fresh water cleaning of all sea chests. Carryout surface preparation to ST-3 standard for carrying out painting.
Application of paint scheme on all sea chest area. Paint will be provided by ND(Mbi). Total 06 coats including 01 coat of primer.
Remove associated system valves/ pipes/ strainers and clean the sea tubes and OBDs. Carryout surface preparation to ST-3 standard for undertaking survey of sea tubes by ND(Mbi).
Pressure testing of Sea Tubes & OBDs: Carryout pressure testing of all sea tubes. Size 20 mm Dia, to 200mm. Payment on actual.
Repairs of Sea Tubes & OBDs: Carryout repairs (building up deep pits) and pressure testing of sea tubes as indicated by ND(Mbi)/survey team. Size 40mm - 65mm Dia, Payment on actual.

Renewal of U/W Hull Steel: Carryout steel plate renewal (DMR 249A) of underwater hull area as per survey report by ND(Mbi). Staging/ (mobile/ fixed) assistance for Survey is to be catered by Shipyard. Quote should include necessary degutting and regutting and all welded joints are to be tested by DPT and water jets for leaks post repairs. Steel plate will be provided by ND(Mbi). Cost should include consumables, necessary degutting/ regutting and staging. The shipyards are requested to visit the ship for assessment of work involved prior to submission of quotes.
Building up of deep pits on underwater hull area as indicated by ND(Mbi)/QC. Quote should include necessary degutting/regutting if required.
Repairs to Tanks and Renewal of Steel Plates on Tank Tops: Repairs to Tanks and Renewal of tank tops where necessary, based on Hull survey by ND(Mbi). SoW in tanks will be intimated progressively, within 3 weeks from DD. Steel plate will be provided by ND(Mbi). Cost should include consumables, necessary degutting/regutting and staging. The shipyards are requested to visit the ship for assessment of work involved prior to submission of quotes.
Building up of deep pits on tank tops as indicated by ND(Mbi)/QC. Quote should include necessary degutting/regutting.
Degutting/ regutting for renewal of Tank top areas, including removal of pipelines, equipment, machinery required to undertake the repairs of defective plates. Renewal based on survey by ND(Mbi).
Carryout Air pressure testing and proving of Tanks & WTC after repairs to tanks including tank tops. Quote should include necessary arrangements for blanking of openings and measuring instruments. To be mandatorily completed prior undocking
ICCP System: Replace reference electrodes and anodes based on QC recommendations. Material would be provided by Indian Navy. Payment on actuals
Draught Marking: Repair / renewal and painting of draught marks and Boot Top area. Renewal only if defective as per inspection report, anticipated in 05 draught marks. Paints would be supplied by Indian Navy.
Storm valves: Remove, overhaul, pressure test and Refitment of storm valves. Valves size maximum 100 mm dia
Remove, Overhauling and refit of rod gearings
Underwater Hull Painting: Carryout Grit blasting to SA 2.5 Std of 100% underwater hull areas including boot top and 500 mm above boot top.
Cleaning of underwater hull area with fresh water prior to application of paint scheme
Application of full paint scheme on 100% underwater hull and boot top areas with 01 coat of primer and 05 coats of paints (6 x 3700 = 22200) under the inspection of paint OEM, hired by Navy. Balance one coat would be undertaken by Indian Navy in subsequent Docking. Paints and thinners Navy supply, material collection to be arranged by shipyard.
Carryout Epoxy/ Araldite Fairing of U/W Fittings: Epoxy/ Araldite fairing of U/W fittings (Eddy cones, Dome joints, Eco sounder & Log valve etc.). Epoxy/ araldite/ fairing material supply by Indian Navy, approx 5 mm thickness. Some activities may have to be undertaken in subsequent docking due to scope of Shafting work
Cleaning of Internal Tanks: Opening of manhole covers, gas freeing and removal of mud/sludge and cleaning of internal tanks with fresh water (Void Spaces 1, 2, 3 and 4, Ballast tanks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Trim Tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4). Gas free certification will be provided by Navy.
Blasting of Internal Tanks: Grit Blasting to SA 2.5 Std 100% of Void Spaces 1, 2, 3 and 4, Ballast tanks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Trim Tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4 area. Hull survey would be undertaken by ND(Mbi) post blasting.
Application of primer and three coats of paint under the inspection of paint OEM hired by Navy. Paint would be supplied by Indian Navy
Bilges Cleaning: Removal of oily water, cleaning with fresh water FER, AMR, AER, Shaft Space (Port and Stbd), 03 AC Compts bilges
Bilges Painting: Surface preparation to ST-3 standard in FER, AMR, AER, Shaft Space (Port and Stbd), 03 AC Compts bilges.
Application of 03 coats of paint including 01 coat of primer in FER, AMR, AER, Shaft Space (Port and Stbd), 03 AC Compts bilges under the inspection of paint OEM hired by Navy. Paint will be supplied by Navy.
Degutting/regutting as required for localised disconnection/ shifting of pipelines and equipment for undertaking ST-3 preparation and painting on bilges
Removal, renewal and refitment of Eddy cones
Removal, renewal and refitment of rope guards
Removal of both propellers and safe stowage at ND(Mbi)/GES shop floor. Propellers to be buffed prior shifting to shop floor. Propellers to be stowed on proper pedestals. Preservative to be applied. The preservatives have to be cleaned prior fitment on the propeller. (Provision of solid staging, Welding and load testing of eye plates to be carried out)
Recording of initial and final clearances of ‘A’ brackets and stern bearing using feeler gauge. Nos 4
Removal of ‘A’ bracket bearing carriers and inner and outer stern bearing carriers. (Provision of solid staging, Welding and load testing of eye plates to be carried out). Nos. 6
Renewal of rubber staves of ’A’ bracket and stern tube carriers (staves will be provided by ND(Mbi)). (Provision of solid staging, Welding and load testing of eye plates to be carried out). Nos. 6
Removal of both stern gland assemblies
Removal of both propeller shafts post dismounting of Eccentric Couplings (Provision, Welding and load testing of eye plates to be carried out).
Decoupling of both stern shafts from intermediate shafts. Dismantling and removal of stern shaft half coupling. Support intermediate shaft on chokes/wooden blocks. Ensure there is no loading on Bulkhead Glands using feeler gauges and all fit bolts positions are marked.
Removal of both stern shaft (Provision, Welding and load testing of eye plates to be carried out). Blank the stern tube opening from both sides.
Laser sighting of shaft line axis to be carried out by the firm before and after fitment of the ‘A’ Bracket and Stern tube bushes. The readings will be counter checked by QC reps.
Carry out off-centre machining of ’A’ bracket and stern tube bearing (if required) based on the shaftline sighting reading. Payment on actuals.
Carry out trueness checks of the propeller and stern shafts on lathe and offer it to QC(E). (Truck and trolley for transportation of shafts to the firm’s works and back will be liability of the firm)
Offer dimension checks of existing sleeve to QC(E). Based on the QC(E) recommendation the firm is to undertake boring and insertion of new sleeve onto shaft journal using epoxy bonding method. New sleeve OD to be machined to design value and offered to QC(E) for inspection. Porosity checks (radiography/X-ray), DPT and dimensional checks to be undertaken by the firm and offered for QC inspection. Sleeves will be provided by ND(Mbi)
Water jet cleaning of stern tube and ‘A’ bracket to be undertaken by the firm post withdrawal of shaft and preservative/paint/epoxy coating to be applied.
Carry out GRP coating of the propeller and stern shafts except sleeve area. All sleeves, tapered portion and eccentric coupling area of the shaft is to be properly secured to prevent any damage during transportation
Insertion of stern shafts in position, hydraulic assembly of half coupling. Coupling of stern shaft with intermediate shaft. De-blank the stern tube from both sides.
Insertion of stern shafts in position, hydraulic assembly of half coupling. Coupling of stern shaft with intermediate shaft. Firm to ensure that bearing staves are not damaged during fitment of stern shafts. All debris/sludge is to be cleared from the path and offered for SS inspection prior insertion of shaft.
Fitment of ‘A” bracket, inner and outer stern tube bearing carriers
Insertion of propeller shafts in position, positioning of eccentric coupling of the shaft. Alignment of propeller shaft with stern shaft (radial and axial) and offer it to QC(E) before eccentric coupling is mounted hydraulically
Fitment of propellers (cleaning/ polishing and application of protective coating to be carried out) including renewal of propeller boss gland seal (New seal will be supplied by ND(Mbi)). Blue impression checks of propellers to be undertaken in presence of ND(Mbi) QC reps.
Fasteners on both propeller cones to be coated with epoxy coating to protect against corrosion.
Loading checks of Plummer blocks to be undertaken by the firm using dynamometer/ hydraulic jack method. Loads on Plummer blocks to be corrected by shimming up and shimming down.
Removal, Overhaul and re-fitment of Salvage Pumps (12 Nos) and Fire Pumps (including motors) (09 Nos). Spares/bearings and SV Mounts would have to be provide by shipyard.
Making of shipping/unshipping route/ Cutting of Technical Windows and removal of equipment: Cutting and Re-welding of Technical Window for removal of Port and Stbd Aux Boilers and HPAC -2 from AMR
Shipping in of new Port & Stbd Aux Boilers and HPAC (if available in the docking phase) in AMR. Cutting of old foundations and manufacture/ welding of new foundations as per diagrams provided by the Indian Navy. Installation would be undertaken by Indian Navy in subsequent docking. Old Equipment handed over to Indian Navy.
Making of shipping/unshipping route/Cutting and Re-welding of Technical Windows in AK100 Eqpt Room and RAWL 02 Mk-III Compt for removal of equipment.
Dismantling, removal of HPAC-1 and HPAC-3 from FER & AER compartment respectively. Cutting of old foundations and manufacture/ welding of new foundations as per diagrams provided by the Indian Navy. Shipping in of new HPACs into FER and AER (if available in the docking phase). Installation would be undertaken by Indian Navy in subsequent docking. Old Equipment to be handed over to Indian Navy.
Dismantling, removal of both Oily Water separators (OWS) from FER and AER compartment, cutting of old foundations and manufacture/ welding of new foundations as per diagrams provided by the Indian Navy. Shipping in of new Oily Water separators (OWS) into FER and AER (if available in the docking phase). Installation would be undertaken by Indian Navy. Old Equipment handed over to Indian Navy.
Defect rectification on Degaussing System and hot work on conduit work in various locations of ship for securing cable. Defects would be indicated by Indian Navy after a system survey/ assessment
Dismantling old Sonar Dome. Equipment degutting related to old Sonar will be undertaken by the Indian Navy. After removal of the equipment, the Sonar dome opening to be blanked, epoxy fairing to be done and integrity proved with Air Hose test/ Water Hose test. (Degutting of old Sonar Equipment would be undertaken by contractors hired by Indian Navy)
Routines on HO-5 trunk to be undertaken. Involves removal of marine growth, cleaning and passing of a dummy strut to check clearances. (Dummy Strut would be provided by Indian Navy). Structural Defects if any are to be rectified.
