M&L for maintaining the copper earth pits/ chemical earth pits/GI earth pits by carrying out the following steps to keep the earth pits as desired value as and when given by Engineer-In-Charge. Note:- a) M&L for carrying out salt water treatment to existing earth pits for improvement of earth result in terms of bringing down the resistance,by pouring salt water solution manually by the following methods. (i) Preperation of magnisum sulphate ,salt and water solution in ratio of 1000 ltr water and 30 kg magnisum sulphate in a bulk suitable container with the arrangement of bib tap and PVC 15 mm dia hose pipe of suitable length. (ii) Cleaning of earth pit chamber and bell mouth of funnel and water pipe. (iii) Pouring of salt water solution after stirring in to the earth pit through funnel approx- 20 lts in earth pit consicutively for 3 days. (iv) Carrying out testing of earth and recording of satisfactory result. b) The testing of earth pits and recording their results in a seperate resister in a presentable manner in every month and writing the result on the board and summary board at every month as specified and directed by Engr-In-Charge.The rate quoted by the contractor shall deemed to be included in the item for the tools for testing earth ,water, Magnisium shulphate and stationaries for earth test register maintained by contractor (c) The Annual Maint of earthing shall be done for 09 Months of 80 earthings.

Taking out old unserviceable GI/aluminium/copper earth strip of any size and type in any height and any location as directed by Engineer In charge.

S&F in repairs galvanized iron strip of size 32 x6 mm as earth continuity conductor buried in ground or fixed to wall/floor/ground provided with porcelain insulators space no less than 0.5 mtrs complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in repairs copper strip of size 32 x6 mm as earth continuity conductor buried in ground or fixed to wall/floor/ground provided with porcelain insulators space no less than 0.5 mtrs complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in repairs copper strip of size 20 x3 mm as earth continuity conductor buried in ground or fixed to wall/floor/ground provided with porcelain insulators space no less than 0.5 mtrs complete all as specified and directed.

M & L for Refixing of existing serviceable copper / aluminium / GI strip with procelain insulator, fixing screws, aluminium cleats etc.(Procelain insulator measured separetly)duly straightened properly as directed by Engineer in charge.

M&L for carrying out brazing to existing earthing strip joint in between earthpit to test point after removing the nut bolt ,scraping the strip,preparing the hole and fix new copper bolt and nut the surface all as specified by Engr-in-charge Note - length of brazing 75mm minimum for jointing of strip.

Material and labour in repairs for electric Welding of existing GI strip of any size, any height (on roof/ on wall) at various places complete all as specified and directed by Engr in Charge.

M& L for porcelin insulater fixing on wall for supporting the copper strip at distance 45 cm including nut bolt drilling hole etc complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

M & L in repairs for GI funnel and wire mesh for earth pits complete all as specified & directed by Engr in Charge.

Material and labour for Test point terminal block in repairs as made of gun metal or phosphorus bronze size 75x75x25mm, drilled and screwed including 3 nos. 8mm dia 25mm long hex. head screw complete all as specified & directed by Engr in Charge.

Taking down old broken and damaged earth pit chamber and M & L for construction of new earth pit chamber of size 700 X 700 X 450 mm of PCC 1:2:4 Type B-1 all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

M & L for PCC 1:2:4 with 20 mm grade aggregate including demolation of existing foundation all as specified and as directed by Engineer in charge.

Takig down old unserviceable GI/Copper earth plate from soft and hard soil from any location as directed by Engineer in charge.

Material & Labour in repairs for Earthing complete with galvanised earth plate electrode 60cm x 60cm x 6 mm thickness burried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25mtr deep below normal ground level) with top edge of earth plate not less than 1.5 mtr below normal ground level connected to and incl galvanised iron strip 32 x 6 mm by means of nuts & bolts, check nuts and washers of brass incl PCC pit of 1:2:4 type B-1, cover reinforced with XPM weight not less than 4 Kg/Sqm and 6mm dia bar handle,earth pit angle iron frame of size 25x25x3mm, excavation and earth work in any type of soil, charcoal dust, salt, light grade GI watering pipe 20mm dia with funnel and wire -mesh and medium grade GI protection pipe of 40mm bore from top edge of earth plate upto main distribution board complete all to as shown in electrical plate no 3 of MES SSR Part I 2009 connected board all as specified and testing on completion.(Note:- GI protection pipe and earth lead more than 7.5 RM shall be measure and paid separately)

Material & Labour in repairs for Chemical Earthing complete with copper earth plate electrode 90cm x 60cm x 5mm thickness burried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25mtr deep below normal ground level) with top edge of earth plate not less than 1.5 mtr below normal ground level connected to and incl copper strip 32x6mm by means of nuts & bolts, check nuts and washers of brass made of copper and connected to test point and earth dolly al as shown in electrical plate no 3 SSR part I 2009 ans specified or indicating including providing charcoal dust 1000 kgs ,common salt 500 kgs ,magnisum sulphate 150 kgs and all around the plate 15CM depth RCC 50 mm thick in cement and wide upto 650mm height in continuous layer ,balance pit will be filled with vegaetable soil upto groundlevel including excavation and earth work in any type of soil PCC (1:3;6) type C1 in chamber ,precast concrete (1:2:4) type B1,reinforced with welded steel wire fabric or XPM weight not less than 4 Kg/Sqm with cast iron frame ,funnel with wire mesh 40 mm bore light grade GI watering pipe all as specified and testing on completion.(Note:- the earth resistance should be less than one ohms and GI protection pipe and earth lead more than 7.5 RM shall be measure and paid separately)

Takig down old unserviceable air termination single pointed aluminium rod of 12 mm dia and 300 mm long.

Supply & fixing in repairs of earthing improving Black fill compound (Conductolite) of 25 Kgs bag for improving earthing result by excavation till middle of the earthing plate both side and filled with Black Fill Compound (Conductolite) ,filling mixture of salt and charcoal 0.2 cum and magnisum sulphate 70 kgs around the earth electrode refilling the agriculture soil form non defence land and fixing the pit and watering the level complete for any type of earth electrode/earth strip making good as per the existing one before execavation all complete as specified and as directed. Make : ASHLOK Black Fill compound (Conductolite). Note:- Excavation, re-filling soil, removal surplus soil for shall be measured and paid under relavent item of this schedule.

Excavation in trenches not exceeding 1.5 m wide and not exceeding 3 m in depth for taking out for repairs of eathing pits and getting out in hard / dense soil complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer - in - Charge.

Returning, filling in including spreading, levelling, watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25cm thick in hard/dense soil complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer - in - Charge.

Removal of excavated material [soil] to a distance not exceeding 50 m and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5m above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer - in - Charge.

S & F GI pipe 40 mm dia grade to be fixed in PCC foundation all as specified and as directed by Engineer in charge.

Comprehensive periodic maintenance and repair including commisssioning and renewal/replacement of defective parts of all existing fire protection system complete consisting of main fire control panel,smoke/heat detector/response indicator, MCPs to make 100% serviceability, including checking of fire detector, cleaning of detector by removing dust or dirt, cleaning of heavy greasy deposit if any, checking the connection of batteries, specific gravity of electrolyte, the alarm function of control and indicating equipment be checked by the operation of trigger device in each zone of the system installed many bldgs including reprogramming with software by authorized Technical Engineer of OEM i.e. M/S L & T Electrical & Automation(schrack-seconet) to keep the system fully functional for 24 x 7 complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Supply and fixing in repairs detectors complying with and type certified to EN-45 Addressable type multi sensor with heat and smoke combination, mounting base, complete all as specified and directed.
