Conducting bore holes for determination of SBC of soil (a) Sinking bore holes in soil strata to 10 mt depth or 'N' value reaches 50 whichever is earlier conducting penetration tests at various depths in the bore holes observation of water table if encountered distributed soil samples from the bore holes conducting the all necessary laboratory tests on undistributed and distributed soil samples, submission of report with analysis of test results and recommendation regarding type and depth of foundations and allowable bearing pressure on them in Six copies Soil samples shall be collected and handed over to Engr-in-Charge in wooden boxes. Note:- Submission of report with analysis of under mentioned tests and recommendation should be submitted in Six Copies : - (i) The bore hole may be terminated before 10 mt if 'N' value reaches 50, carryout SPT/DCPT whichever is suitable in the bore holes to determine 'N' Value. (ii) SPT/DCPT value at every 0.75m intervals and change of strata. (iii) Grain size distribution and analysis . (iv) Soil characteristics. (v) Value of cohesion and angle of internal friction.

(vi) Recommended SBC at different depths of foundation i.e. at 1000mm,1200mm,1500mm & 1800mm, etc upto 5m depth. (vii) SBC and its calculation based 'N' Value shear strength and settlement criteria. (viii) Depth of water table (Maximum&Minimum). (ix) Depth of expansive soil and its properties, if any. (x) Recommendation for type of foundation. (xi) Recommendation for filling under floors and filling under protection. (xii) Chemiucal analysis of soil. (xiii) Detail of soil profile and bore logs. (xiv) Any other recommendation. (xv) Location of bore should be shown alongwith the proposed bldg layout in the report in a site plan duly signed by GE and testing Lab rep. (xvi) Water table level, chemical characteristics of soil eg. Chloride and Sulphate content and expansive characteristics of soil if any should be given in the report. (xvii) The levels of each SPT/DCPT bores shall be reflected with respect to permanent bench mark levels. (xviii) RLs at the location of all Boreholes shall be indicated in the site plan bldg layout. (xix) Slope stability Analysis and recommendation also shall be suitably obtained from the soil testing consultant, when a deep cutting in ivolved at the site. Note : Transportaion charges of Machinery/Equipment and manpower for to and fro included in the cost of item.
