REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE OF RUNWAY DRAINS AND PMBE IN FLEXEBLE PAVEMENT AT AF STATION JAMNAGAR

NOTE: Contractor shall note that work on runway maintenance will be permitted only on Saturday,Sunday, holiday and Non flying days of week days. Contractor shall plan the execution of work accordingly and no misunderstanding shall be entertained and contactor’s quoted rate shall be deemed to be included this provision.

NOTE -1 :- SITE FOR EXECUTION OF WORK :- Tenderer shall note that work shall be executed at Runway/taxi track/Tarmac & similar location. Site for execution of work will be made available to contractor on Saturday, Sunday, Holidays and non operational days or when Runway/Taxi Track or other location will made available by GE/Engineer-in-Charge after consultation with users, due to contractor will have to arrange his working programme accordingly. No claim whatsoever, for not giving the entire site, on award of work and giving the site gradually will be entertained. The contractor shall consider this aspect while quoting his rates.

NOTE -2 :- Work will be executed in different location for repair of small portions/patches in and around airfiled. The contractor shall consider this aspect while quoting his rates.

M&L for cleaning the surface by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with compressor air blower to remove all loose dust and dirt etc / taking out dust / existing material with compressed air and making the surface free from dust, drying the surface and applying one coat of polymeric modified bitumen emulsion (PMBE) by using self propelled emulsion distribution uniformly or towed emulsion pressure sprayer , equipped for spraying the PMBE uniformly and.......

....mopping the total undiluted PMBE @ 0.50 litre per sqm in one coat (diluted quantity 1.00 litre / Sqm) dully diluted in ratio 1:1 (PMBE 1 litre : water 1 litre) and ensure uniform finish of total area complete all as per manufactures instructions complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

M&L for preparation of plastered or unplastered old decorated surfaces of wall, concrete surface etc by brooming down or steel wire brushing, scraping down smoke soot, mouls, moss and efflorescent salts and treating oil and greasy spots and applying two coats of white wash (lime) wash complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

M&L for Cleaning of PCC drain not exceeding 1.5 metre deep by removing of deposited soft / loose soil and other foreign materials not exc 30 cm deep and average 15 cm deep and removal of excavated material to a distance exc 250 m but n.exc 500 m complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Note:- width of bottom of drain multiplied by the length of drain cleaned shall be measured for payment.

M&L for Ploughing in any type of soil with disc plough mechanically operated with average depth of 45 cm running the plough in long and traverse direction and cleaning away of all grass / vegetable spoils, shrubs under growth roots and removing rubbish including hard objects etc from the surfaces to a distance exc 150 metre but not exc 500 metre all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Note:- Logbook containing detail of date and time of ploughing, location, shall be maintained by the contractor and shall be signed by the Engineer-in-Charge & contractor.

Deployment of T&P and labour for Cutting out grasses, shrubs, vegetation, bushes from the shoulders of runway & taxi track by mechanical / automatic equipment / hand operated grass cutting machine / manually cutting to give uniform grass of height (10 to 15 cm) and disposing off all the rubbish to distance exc 250 meter but not exc 500 meter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Note : Considering the working hours contractor will deploy minimum 06 Nos mechanical / automatic equipment / hand operated grass cutting machine.

Deployment of T&P and labour for cutting and removing the grasses / vegetation growth in the surrounding area of runway, taxi track and dispersals by using tractor equipped with jungle jim and disposing off all the rubbish to distance exc 250 meter but not exc 500 meter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Note : Considering the working hours contractor will deploy minimum 03 Nos tractor equipped with jungle jim of each working days.

Demolition of brick work or stone masonry built in cement mortar including all quoins, pillars, arches etc. but excluding ashlar facings, dressed stone work and precast concrete articles, complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

M & L for precast PCC solid block masonry 1:5:8 (Type D5) straight or curved on plan exc 6 m mean radius, exc 10 cm width and set inCM (1:6) all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Taking down cement plaster on brick or stone wall etc. including racking out joints, hacking for key and scrubbing down with water etc. complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

M & L for rendering 15 mm thick on concrete surfaces/ block surface in cement mortar (1:4) finished even and smooth without using extra cement for surfaces of Area Drain all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

M & L for PCC (1:2:4) Type b1 (using 20 mm graded stone aggregate ) in coping of including necessary form work finished fair and even surface without using extra cement including weathering slightly rounded or chamfered angles and throating as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

M&L PCC in surface channels and drains type B1 (1:2:4) using 20 mm graded stone aggregate all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.
