Providing Copper Earthing at Telephone Exchanges/BTSs in Business Area Nainital i.e. Operational Area Nainital & Operational Area Almora refer cluase no. 31 of section VI.

Digging of pit up to 10 ft x 10 ft x 15 ft and jobs of Earthing using four copper plates of size (600x600x5mm) thickness to be buried into ground with 3 qtl. Salt and 3 qtl. Coal to obtain moist earth, plates are to be kept as per Fig. 1 & looped together by continuous copper strip 25x5 mm for termination on earth collector. Filling of pit with material as per specification and drawing, with extending and termination of earth up to a maximum length of 10 Mtr. from common point at pit to exchange earth collector plate, the material used is copper plate. Rate for Complete job of work for erection /installation of earth per exchange with watering arrangement to the pit as specified in drawing and specification for exchange earth resistance should be less than 0.5 Ohms system, including supply of all Material.
