PAINTING TO RUNWAY TAXI TRACK, RETRO REFLECTIVE PAINTING TO DISPERSAL AREA, RUNWAY MARKING TWICE IN A YEAR, JOINT FILLING IN DISPERSAL AREA, DTGM, SIGNAGE BOARD INCLUDING SURFACE CONCRETE AND MOORUM FILLING AT INS GARUDA AT NAVAL BASE KOCHI UNDER GE

M&L for preparation of old painted taxi link/ dispersal area surface incl 10cm and exc 10cm width and applying one coat of retro reflective paint marking using Flexo-O-Lite type III high index glass beads including on taxi links/ dispersal area by mechanical means complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for preparation of old painted surfaces of arrows letters etc on roads, pavements runway & like exc 10cm width and applying one coat of road marking paint white or golden yellow by mechanical means complete all as specified and directed. Note : The painted surface shall not show any sign of brush mark or surface underneath. The painting shall stand out boldly. Painting shall be in sufficient number of strokes till the desired result is achieved and shall not shown visible sign of brushmarks etc.

M&L for preparation of old painted surfaces of black border of taxi track markings exc 10cm width and applying one coat of road marking paint black in colour complete all as specified and directed. Note : The painted surface shall not show any sign of brush mark or surface underneath. The painting shall stand out boldly. Painting shall be in sufficient number of strokes till the desired result is achieved and shall not shown visible sign of brushmarks etc.

M&L for cut open the cracks on runway /taxiway in 'V' shape to minimum 20 to 30mm width & up to full depth of the crack not exc 100mm thick or to a depth as directed by Engr in charge, clean thoroughly using compressed air or other approved means prime the entire surface with organo saline chemical mixed with water for making the entire surface hydrophobic and ensure perfect bonding and filling the with bituminous base compound SHALITEK or equivalent make as approved, and sprinkling on top to remove the glossy finish , all as per the manufacturers instruction including removing all debris and other wastes etc and leaving the premises neat and clean , complete all specified and as directed. Note : The tenderers are advised to visit the site with reference to the site plan area and fully be aware of the area to be maintained/repaired to all runway connected works shall be done at late working hours if required as specified in Sch 'A' and particular specification

M&L for preparing old black top surface by broomings with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and fanning the cleaned surfaces with the use of air blowers to remove all loose dirts etc complete and applying two coats of cold polymer modified emulsion (PME) by spraying with machine of total cold liquid PME minimum 0.89 liters per Sqm undiluted in two coats), with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME (after diluting with water) each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME : Water) and ensure uniform finish of runway complete all as per manufacturer's instructions and all as specified and as directed. Note: The tenderer shall take the following points into consideration and are deemed to be included in the quoted rate: (a) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) standard. (b) The work shall be carried out through authorized and qualified applicator of PME manufacturers instruction (c) Care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks up to 3mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturers instruction. (d) A performance guarantee certificate for two year shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of the work as specified (e) Application of PME shall be done by flooding and wiping in both first coat and second coat with the help of wiper or as directed by the manufacturer. (f) Skid resistance test (Dry and wet condition) in every 5000 Sqm area of runway shall be carried out before and after PME. (g) PME required more/less than 0.89 litre/Sqm (undiluted) during execution of work as per direction of Engr in Charge shall be measured and paid as supply only rate.

Cutting, raking out existing sealing compound from joints up to 50 to 60mm of rigid pavements by mechanical/hand cutter removing the racked out sealing compound from joints, removing the debris and other foreign materials to a distance exc 50m and n exc 150m, depositing where directed and cleaning the sides and bottom of joints by compressor air (diesel driven compressor of suitable capacity) preparing joints to closed cell polyethylene back up rod 30mm dia with 2mm thick debonding tape (min depth over back up rod shall be 17-18mm) 01 coats of priming the vertical sides of joints and sealing the joints (TOP 14-15mm) with single component polyurethane sealant conforming to requirement of BS-5212 and EN 141875-2003 for Hydrolysis/water resistance test and applying masking tape on edge at joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after sealant is applied. Sealant should have MAF minimum +/-30% with manufactures 5(five) years performance guarantee, rest complete all as manufactures instructions and as specified and as directed by the Engr in charge for the following joints. Note: (i) The tenderers are advised to visit the site with reference to the site plan area and fully be aware of the area to be maintained/repaired to all connected works shall be done it late working hours if reqd as specified in sch 'A' and particular specifications. (ii) Suitable masking tape should be provide on both edges of joints to prevent to spreading of joint sealent material and same should be removed after completion of joints filling. (iii) If existing expansion joints is wider than 25mm, then back-up rod dia shall be 5mm more than joint width. (a) Expansion joints 25mm to 40mm wide X 30mm deep

Contractotr will have to arrange the working programme accordingly on no claim basis

M&L for 5mm thick PVC sheet fixed to wooden frame as in DTGM and taxi link markers boards out of premises complete all as specified and directed

M&L for PVC pipe 75 mm dia as in supports including necessary clamps etc for DTGM boards complete all as specified and directed
