To carry out the structural design of Provn of Hygiene Chemical and Pest Control Store at SHO, Naval Base Kochi based on architecture drawings (for reference only) provided by the department and other datas like soil investigation report etc: - (a) Consultancy firm has to submit structural drawings, calculation sheet one original set on auto cad(soft copy as well as hard copy). The drawing has to be got approved from HQ CWE(NW) E2 Kochi before getting it vetted from IIT/NIT/IISC/CUSAT/REC/Govt. Engineering College. The approximate plinth area of single storey hygiene chemical & pest control store at SHO is 184.00sqm and the tentative floor plan is enclosed. The structural engineers of the consultant should discuss drawings and all the design parameters with CWE or any other officer detailed for the purpose before proceeding with the actual work. Stage wise checking of Design shall be got done from E2. (b) The design of the building shall be scientifically designed using latest codal provision/engineering practices and should be economically efficient and grade shall be M-30 RMC and steel FE-500D as per relevant IS. Load combination shall be as per IS-875, IS-1893, IS-1236, IS-13920 and IS-456:2000 (latest version). Importance factor shall be as per relevant IS clause pertaining to seismic provisions. The design shall be done preferably on STAAD Pro. or latest version of ETABS. The confirmation for use of software shall be obtained from CWE(NW) Kochi. (c) The consultant should be available at any mid-term review of design requirement during currency of work due to site requirements. In case of any defects/damage detected in the designed infrastructure during its design life and if the same is attributed to faulty drawing/design, the consultant will be held responsible and financially liable for the same. (d) The vetting of designs and drawings and its report should be from the designated institute (duly signed by authorized signatory on behalf of the institute) and not from a professor/individual of the institute in his personal capacity. The third party vetting the designs and drawings shall also be liable for ensuring that the design and drawings are in compliance as per sound engineering practices, adherence to NBC norms, statutory orders and regulations and relevant IS codes etc. for which the consultant shall be equally responsible. The vetting agency will also be liable and answerable for any design deficiencies detected during design life of the building and may be called upon to address such issues if any.
