SOIL INVESTIGATION (PROVN OF SINGLE ACCN FOR OFFICERS AT 7 AFH JOB NO 7AFH/CAP-07/2019-20 UNDER GE (AF) B/R CHAKERI The following Job Work is urgently required for soil investigation against above Job No:- 1. Mobilisation of Mechanical drilling equipment/rig & Shifting of entire arrangement from one bore to another hole location and setting of boring/drilling rig upto 10.00 mtrs depth all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. 2. Boring 150mm dia bore holes to any depth through following type of strata:- (a) Any type of soil (b) Soft rock. (c) Hard Rock 3. Collection of undisturbed soil sample at 3 m intervals or at any change of strata in 100 mm bore thin walled tube including waxing sealing, packing and transporting to the lab. Depth of bore hole 10.00 mite. 4. Carrying out standard penetration Test (S.P.T) including collecting of disturbed soil samples in bore holes at every 1.5 M depth or any change of strata and submit the report with all requisite data. 5. Conducting necessary tests as per relevant IS code/NBC 2005/SP 36 on all collected samples which include the determination of :- (a) Atterberg Limits (b) Natural moisture contents (c) Wet and dry density (d) Soil particle size distribution using sieve/hydrometer analysis (e) Tri- axial shear test C&D determination. (f) Shrinkage Limit (g) Consolidation test (h) Specific gravity test for sand/rock (j) Crushing strength of rock samples (k) Permeability test (l) Chemical analysis of ground water sample (Min 02 samples) (m) Free soil index (n) Chemical analysis of soil.

Note :- (i) Rate includes all items of works necessary for carrying out complete soil expiration work collection of sample, testing at and field test result and submission of reports (four sets) (ii) Rates includes for submission of detailed recommendation for shallow foundation (Size 1.5x1.5m, 1.5x2.5m, 2.0x2.5m, 2.0x3.0m) & bearing cap of soil (SBC) at 1.5/2.0/2.5M depth. Type of foundation and depth of footing, be clearly specified. (iii) In case, very weak soil strata is encountered, recommendation about pile foundation i.e type, dia, depth of pile, safe load carrying capacity and socketing of pile into hard rock shall be clearly given in the report also, measures for ground improvement if required in the report. (iv) Safe bearing cap shall be worked out based on N value, shear failure and settlement criteria. (v) photographic records of geo-exploration as well as testing shall also form part of the report. (vi) Recommendation as regards possibility of liquefaction of soil in case of saturated or partially saturated loose/uncompacted sandy soils. (vii) Swelling index and swelling pressure in respect of back cotton and its depth/ayer. (viii) Depth of gnd water table (GWT) in peak monsoon (Lowest) and peak summer (Highest) after correlation of results with seasonal variation of water table in the stn. (ix) Recommendation of filling under floors.
