Dismantling of Old Refractory & Application of New Castable Refractory Masonry work as per below scope of works. The Broad scope involves complete dismantling and disposal of old refractory material and application of new castable refractory masonry in specified zones. The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following: DISMANTLING OF OLD REFRACTORY: • Removal of damaged, worn-out, or unserviceable old refractory material (brick, castable, insulation, etc.). • Manual/mechanical chipping and demolition as per site condition. • Collection, segregation, and safe disposal of dismantled refractory debris to the designated location inside the plant premises as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. • Cleaning and surface preparation of the exposed area for new refractory lining. • Inspection and reporting of any damages to anchoring systems or structural parts. INSTALLATION OF NEW CASTABLE REFRACTORY: • Supply of New Refractory shall be in HBL scope. • Surface cleaning and preparation prior to refractory application. • Mixing of castable using approved method (with pan mixer or mechanical mixer) and maintaining required water ratio. • Application of castable refractory using shuttering/moulds or free hand as per site requirement. • Compaction using poker vibrators for ensuring proper density and bonding. • Curing of refractory as per technical data sheet (TDS) of the manufacturer – minimum 24-48 hours water curing. • Removal of shuttering, inspection, and touch-up wherever required. • Final drying and heating-up (if in scope) under supervision of OEM/Engineer-in-Charge.
