Special repairs/ replacement of Fresh Water Supply Lines under GE (I) Navy Jamnagar

Excavating in trenches, not exc 1.5 metre wide and not exc 1.5 metre in depth, for foundation, etc. or for shafts, wells, cesspits, manholes, pier holes, etc. laying cables, pipes, etc. not exc 10 Sqm on plan & not exc 1.5m in depth and getting out in any type of soil (i.e. Soft/ loose/ moorum/ mud) complete all as specified and as directed.

All as per serial item No. 1 here-in-above, but exc 1.5 m and not exc 3.0 m in depth -do-

Returning, filling in trenches, including spreading, leveling, watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25 cm thick in soil complete all as specified and directed.

Removing excavated surplus soil to a distance not exceeding 50 mts and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5 M above the starting point complete all as directed.

Cutting of existing PCC floor / hardstanding / Interlocking tiles path / WBM road with soling & premix carpet of any description for replacement / laying of water supply pipe lines, depth of cutting not exceeding 150cm and width not exceeding 60cm and filling the trench (excluding top 20 to 30cm) with existing soil & aggregate obtained from cutting, watered and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25 cm thick to satisfaction of EIC and disposal of surplus soil/debris to a distance not exceeding 250 metre and depositing where directed complete all as directed. Note : The top 20 to 30cm surface shall be filled with PCC which shall be measured and paid for separately under relevant item.

M&L for PCC 1:2:4 type B1 using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate as in filling for road/ path/ hardstanding and finally match the top surface to adjacent level of road/ path/ hardstanding & similar other works, surface finished fair & even, including necessary formwork, complete all as specified & as directed.

Dismantling and taking up or down existing unserviceable Cast Iron/ Ductile Iron/ MS water mains Pipes upto 300mm bore of any class including all fittings with spigot and socket ends and lead joints including burning out joints, flanged joints etc complete all as directed. Note :- Excavation & earthwork shall be measured and paid for separately under relevant items of this Schedule.

Supply, laying, jointing, commissioning and testing centrifugally cast Ductile Iron (DI) Spun pressure pipes (Class K9) of 300mm bore (ISI marked) conforming to IS : 8329-2000 with internal cement mortar lining and external zinc coating (130 gm/sqm minimum) and bituminous finish layer (minimum thickness 70 microns) with socket & spigot ends with push on joints with & including EPDM rubber gasket laid in trenches in any length complete all as specified & as directed. Notes :- (i) The water supply line repair work to be carried out both in Defence Cantt as well as in civil area in any description and in different locations in full / part (ii) It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that repair work is no where hampered during any stage i.e. currency of contract as such contractor shall prepare well in advance by liaisoning with concerned State / Central department authorities under whose jurisdiction it lies, in no case work to be stopped in half way for want of permission etc in case necessary fee if any shall be borne by the contractor for which no extra payment shall be reimbursed. (iii) Necessary barricade, diversion boards and necessary safety signs etc as per safety norms shall be made & arranged by Contractor without any extra cost to Govt. description of item contd....

Description of serial item No. 7 contd… (iv) During execution damage occurred to any sort structure etc the same shall be made good to its original specification by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt. (v) In case of road cutting inside Defence Cantt is inevitable the same shall be cut to required size and shape only after obtaining written approval of Engineer-in Charge, in no case road cutting be done without written approval of EIC. Vice versa if road cutting in Civil area is inevitable in that case necessary prior permission to be obtained from concerned Govt authorities. In case of any fees etc the same shall be borne by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt. The road cutting shall be measured and paid separately under relevant item here-in-after. (vi) Work shall be commencement and completed within the time slots allotted by EIC to the contractor for the said work. (vii) Engineer-in-Charge shall strictly ensure that the Work shall be carried out in batch wise portion of pipe line for replacement and span and ensure batch work shall be completed by contractor on the same day and pipe line shall be made ready for regular water supply in case the same is inescapable alternative / temporary arrangement shall be made by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt as directed by EIC so that regular water supply shall not be hampered. (viii) Excavation & earth work and fittings shall be measured and paid for separately. (ix) Quoted rate for various items in BOQ shall deemed to be inclusive for the above as said in above Notes, no extra what so ever shall be entertained by the department.

Supply, laying, jointing, commissioning and testing of MS ERW flanged pipe heavy grade (ISI marked) of 300 mm bore including necessary drilling, cutting, bending & welding in required shape including nuts, bolts, washers, rubber gasket, making short pieces as required with & including painting of external surfaces with two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chromate primer complete all as specified and as directed. Notes:- (i) Excavation and earthwork shall be measured and paid for separately. (ii) Weight of paint shall not be considered for payment purpose and quoted rate shall deemed to be included this aspect.

Dismantling and taking up or down existing unserviceable Cast Iron/ Ductile Iron/ MS fittings & specials of flanged/socket and spigot ends upto 300 mm bore including burning out lead joints, flanged joints, push on joints, etc complete all as directed.

Supply and fixing Ductile Iron fittings, specials (K-12) such as bends, tapers, collars, reducers, tee pieces (single or double branch) any type, angle/radius and straight connecting pieces etc (ISI marked) conforming to IS-9523 for flanged/socket and spigot ends suitable for DI pipe upto 300 mm bore, complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F MS fittings suitable for 80mm to 300mm pipes such as bends, tappers, etc any type and angle and straight connected pieces any type joint all flange ends including necessary cutting, welding, bending, drilling holes for bolts, in any shape or size as indicated or directed including necessary jointing materials such as nut, bolts, washers, packings and welding including testing with & including painting of external surfaces with two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chromate primer complete all as specified and as directed. Note:- Weight of paint shall not be considered for payment purpose and quoted rate shall deemed to be included this aspect.

Dismantling and taking up or down of existing CI/ MS header of 500/ 300mm bore from all existing water connections with taking out all existing fittings of any shape and size, including de-watering and removing of PCC/ brick work complete all as directed.

M&L for Header made out of MS ERW pipes 500/ 300 mm nominal bore and 12mm (minimum) wall thickness including necessary fabrication, cutting, welding, bending, drilling holes for bolts, in any shape or size for providing incoming & outgoing pipe connections with & including painting of external surfaces with two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chromate primer complete all as specified and as directed. Notes : (i) Valves and PCC shall be measured and paid for separately. (ii) All inlet and outlet connections of ERW pipes of min thickness should be 12mm and flange welded duly drilled for fixing the valves at site. (iii) Quoted rate is deemed to be inclusive of welding and painting complete. (iv) Weight of paint shall not be considered for payment purpose and quoted rate shall deemed to be included this aspect.

Supply & fixing cast iron body sluice valve heavy duty class ‘PN-1.6’ of 300 mm bore, ISI marked with IS 14846, both flanged ends and drilled, high tensile stainless steel spindle, CI gate with brass ring, non rising type, cast iron wheel handle, cast iron cap, with 3mm thick neoprene rubber gasket joint and nuts, bolts (high tensile), washers etc, and testing, including dismantling & taking out old unserviceable sluice valve of 300 mm bore, complete all as specified & as directed.

Supply and fixing Non Return Valve (NRV) of size 300mm bore, cast iron body, as per IS 5312 (ISI marked), heavy duty, class ‘PN-1.6’, gun metal seat, both ends flanged and drilled, including nuts, bolts, washer and neoprene rubber gasket joint including dismantling & taking out old unserviceable non return valve of 300mm bore complete all as specified and as directed .

M&L for construction of Valve pit chamber of size 1200x1200x1200mm internal dimension including necessary excavation & earth work in any type of soil, PCC 1:4:8 type D2 in foundation, brick work with old size fly ash bricks in CM 1:4, 15 mm thick plaster in CM 1:4 internally and externally flush pointed in same mortar as work proceeds, 75 mm thick PCC coping all round in PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20 mm graded stone aggregate), flooring shall be 40 mm thick PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20mm graded stone aggregate laid over 75 mm thick hard core. Top cover shall be made out of MS sheet 3.00 mm thick fixed in angle iron frame made out of angle iron size 40x40x6 mm with two number of hinges on one side and locking arrangement at other side complete including painting with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide zinc chrome primer complete all as specified and directed including dismantling of old existing unserviceable vale pit chamber. Note : Any minor modification where required at site shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates. The decision of GE shall be final and binding regarding extent to which the change can be considered as minor.

M&L for reinforced cement concrete 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate) as in foundation including rafts, footings, foundation beams, plinth beams, base of columns, base for header, pumps, etc, basement slabs, mass concrete and similar works including necessary formwork, complete all as specified and as directed. Note: Reinforcement shall be measured and paid for separately.

M&L for mild steel TMT bars 10 mm dia and over cut to length, bent to shape required, including cranking, bending spirally or hooping for columns, hooking ends and binding with mild steel wire (annealed) not less than 0.9 mm dia complete all as specified & as directed.
