ROAD TARRING, PARKING TILE FLOORING AND ALLIED CIVIL WORKS AT C-DAC THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

Detailed description of works

Rate for disposal of construction waste materials such as brick bats,unserviceable soil, tree routes, concrete pieces etc including excavation if any, loading and disposal from the campus as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

Taking out existing kerb stones of all types from footpath/ road border, including removal of mortar/concrete etc., disposal of unserviceable material to the dumping ground and stacking of serviceable material within 50 metre lead as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

Dismantling of RCC/PCC in the existing open ground areas including disposing off the debris materials from the campus at contractor’s responsibility.

Earth work excavation/cutting in all kinds of soil with all leads as per instructions including filling the sides etc with excavated earth ,ramming ,shoring and shuttering of sides if necessary complete as per direction, disposed earth to be leveled and neatly dressed.

Dismantling of rubble/brick in the existing open ground areas including disposing off the debris materials from the campus at contractor’s responsibility.

Supplying and filling fresh soil/gravel in open areas in layers not exceeding 20 cm in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering, lead up to 50 m and lift up to 1.5 m as per direction of the Engineer-in-charge.

Providing & laying reinforced cement concrete(RCC) in cement concrete mix 1:2:4 including shuttering, steel work, curing etc.complete in ground level as directed by the engineer-in-charge.

Providing and applying 12mm to 15mm cement plaster of mix 1:4 (1 cement : 4 fine sand) finished with a floating coat of neat cement on all surfaces such as concrete walls, brickwalls, columns, beams etc; at all heights.

Providing and laying in position plain cement concrete(PCC) of mix 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 graded stone aggregate 20mm nominal size) including the cost of centering, shuttering etc. complete.(for patch works)

Brick work in any floors with cement mortar 1:6 with cement concrete blocks/burned fire clay bricks, all inclusive rate.

Maintenance of Earthen Shoulder (filling with fresh soil), making-up loss of material /irregularities on shoulder to the design level by adding it with fresh approved soil and compacting.

Preparation and consolidation of sub-grade with power road roller of 8 to 12 tone capacity after excavating earth to an average of 22.5 cm depth, dressing to camber and consolidating with road roller including making good the undulations etc. and re-rolling the sub-grade and disposal of surplus earth with lead upto 50 metres.

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting stone aggregate of specified sizes to WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) specifications in uniform thickness,including premixing the material with water at OMC in mechanical mixer (Pug Mill), carriage of mixed material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers in sub-base/base course on a well prepared sub base hand picking, rolling with 3 wheeled road/vibratory roller 8-10 tone capacity in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and brooming requisite type of screening / binding material to fill up interstices of coarse aggregate, watering and compacting to the required density.

Providing pre-mix bitumen leveling coarse having thickness between 20 mm and 30 mm with 12 mm metal by spreading the metal to line and levels and rolling until the compacted coarse aggregate has a firm surface and applying hot bitumen (VG 30) with pressure sprayer at the rate of 48 Kg/M3 metal including all cost of bitumen conveyance, heating ,mixing and spreading in appropriate locations to proper levels compacting with power road roller(10 tons) and other sundry stores.

Filling-up pot holes (cut and formed to regular shapes and all loose and defective materials removed) after supplying a frame coat of hot bitumen using 36 mm departmental broken stone and compacting with power road roller(10 tons) to get a compact surface.

Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion (SS) on prepared surface of granular base including clearing of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.70 - 1.0 Kg/Sqm using mechanical means.

Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion( RS1) using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25 - 0.30 Kg/Sqm on the prepared bituminous surface cleaned with mechanical broom.

Providing, laying and rolling of open graded premix carpet of 20 mm thickness with 0.27 cum of 12mm aggregates premixed with 12.96 kg of bitumen per 10 sqm using penetration grade bitumen to required line, grade and level on a previously prepared base, after priming the existing surface with 5 kg of bitumen (VG 30) per 10 sqm including mixing in a suitable plant, laying and rolling a three wheel static roller of 80-100 KN capacity ,finished to required level and grades ,followed by a seal coat of 0.09 cum of 6mm departmental aggregates premixed with 8.64 kg of bitumen per 10 sqm. by manual means.

Painting road surface marking with adequate nos of coats to give uniform finish with ready mixed road marking paint conforming to IS:164, on bituminous surface in white/yellow shade, including cleaning the surface of all dirt, scales, oil, grease and foreign material etc.complete. as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge and accordance with applicable specifications

Providing and laying at or near ground level factory made kerb stone of M-25 grade cement concrete in position to the required line, level and curvature, jointed with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 coarse sand), including making joints with or without grooves (thickness of joints except at sharp curve shall not to more than 5mm), including making drainage opening wherever required, fixing in cement concrete base,pointing etc complete the work as per direction of Engineer-in-charge (length of finished kerb edging shall be measured for payment). (Precast C.C. kerb stone shall be approved by Engineer-in-charge).

Supply and fixing of color coated steel roofing sheet of Tata/GANGA-Galvalume or equivalent of 0.45mm thick of approved size and colour including all accessories required for completing the roof work like Tap-Screw with self drilling fasteners / j hooks / L hooks, nuts,washer etc. including the cost of 21/2 " GI pipe (16guage) as columns, purlins, rafters, trusses, MS plates, angles etc. complete the work including all material & labour charges. The rate includes cutting, hoisting, fixing in position and applying two coats enamel paint after a priming coat of approved steel primer, including welding etc. complete.The work to be completed including the supply and fixing of 6" uPVC rain water Gutter with proper gutter support, clamp etc. complete.(Make: Euro Guard, Aqua star,Supreme). Also provide 4" PVC pipes(4Kgf/cm2) and fittings for draining of water to ground level.Proper concrete base for GI columns to be provided as per the directions of the engineer-in-charge.

Supplying and laying of interlocking paving blocks of 80mm thick (heavy duty tiles) on 50mm quarry dust base including site preparation such as trimming, levelling,compact with plate compactor and 125mm wide concrete edge to retain paving blocks(as per design/drawing) with approved color and sizes etc complete as per the instructions of the engineer-in-charge.

Supply of 3mm gauge GI road guard rails/road crash barrier/Highway crash barrier including fixing it on the existing ground with proper concrete base support etc complete as per the approved design and instructions of the engineer-in-charge.

Supply and installation of traffic safety mirrors of size 24-inch with polycarbonate material including erecting the mirror on the road side with concrete base etc complete the work as directed by the engineer-in-charge.

Painting with Synthetic enamel paint of approved quality two or more coats on old/new surface of kerb stones/concrete after scrapping , cleaning the surface and a priming coat.
