Notes for Water Supply Work related items of Schedule 'A' :- (i) The water supply line repair work to be carried out both in Defence Cantt as well as in Civil area in any description and in different locations in full / part. (ii) It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that repair work is nowhere hampered during any stage i.e. currency of contract as such contractor shall prepare well in advance by liaisoning with concerned State / Central department authorities under whose jurisdiction it lies, in no case work to be stopped in half way for want of permission etc in case necessary fee if any shall be borne by the contractor for which no payment shall be reimbursed. (iii) Necessary barricade, diversion boards and necessary safety signs etc as per safety norms shall be made & arranged by Contractor without any extra cost to Govt. (iv) During execution damage occurred to any sort structure etc the same shall be made good to its original specification by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt. (v) In case of road cutting inside Defence Cantt is inevitable the same shall be cut to required size and shape only after obtaining written approval of Engineer-in Charge, in no case road cutting be done without written approval of EIC. Vice versa if road cutting in Civil area is inevitable in that case necessary prior permission to be obtained by the contractor from concerned Govt authorities. In case of any fees etc the same shall be borne by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt. The road cutting shall be measured and paid separately under relevant items. (vi) Work shall be commencement and completed within the time slots allotted by EIC to the contractor for the said work. Notes Cond/-

Notes for Water Supply Work related items of Schedule 'A' Contd :- (vii) Engineer-in-Charge shall strictly ensure that the Work shall be carried out in batch wise portion of pipe line for replacement and span and ensure batch work shall be completed by contractor on the same day and pipe line shall be made ready for regular water supply in case the same is inescapable alternative / temporary arrangement shall be made by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt as directed by EIC so that regular water supply shall not be hampered. (viii) Excavation and earth work shall be measured and paid for separately unless specifically mentioned in respective item. (ix) Quoted rate for various items in BOQ shall deemed to be inclusive as said in above Notes, no extra payment what so ever shall be entertained by the department.

Demolition of brickwork/PCC block or stone/boulder masonry, built in cement mortar including all quoins, arches, pillars, etc and removal of entire debris as ordered outside MoD land complete all as specified and as directed.

Demolition of cement concrete (un-reinforced) of any description and in any position not otherwise specifically provided for in this Schedule and removal of entire debris as ordered outside MoD land complete all as specified & as directed.

Surface excavation not exc 30 cm deep and averaging 15 cm deep & getting out in any type of soil (i.e. soft/ loose or hard/ dense soil) complete all as specified and as directed.

Excavating in post holes (or similar holes) each not exc 0.50 cum, getting out, returning, filling in and ramming earth or broken rubble mixed with earth around, in layers not exc 25cm, watering, and removing surplus soil to a distance not exc 50 m and making good surface in any type of soil complete all as specified & as directed.

Excavating in trenches, not exc 1.5 metre wide and not exc 1.5 metre in depth, for foundation, etc. or for shafts, wells, cesspits, manholes, pier holes, etc. laying cables, pipes, etc. not exc 10 Sqm on plan & not exc 1.5m in depth and getting out in any type of soil (i.e. soft/ loose or hard/ dense soil) complete all as specified and as directed.

All as per item No. 6 here-in-above but exc 1.5 m and not exc 3.0 m in depth -do-

Returning, filling in trenches, including spreading, leveling, watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25 cm thick in soil complete all as specified and directed.

Removing excavated surplus soil to a distance not exceeding 50 mts and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5 M above the starting point complete all as directed.

Removing excavated surplus soil/ material to a distance exceeding 250m but not exceeding 500m and depositing where directed, complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for broken stone or boulders hardcore of gauge not exceeding 63 mm, deposited, spread and levelled in layers not exceeding 15 cm thick, watered and rammed to a true surface complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for Moorum/ red bajri filling in floors or pavings, laid in layers not exceeding 15 cm thick, spread, levelled and rammed including watering complete all as specified and as directed. Note : Measurement shall be taken after consolidation.

M&L for PCC 1:3:6, type C2 (using 40 mm graded crushed stone aggregate) as in foundations, filling and mass concrete complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for cement concrete 1:3:6 type C1, using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate as in stand posts, thrust blocks, cills, steps, copings, kneelers, apex stones, bed plates and the like including weathering, slightly rounded, chamfered angle and throating as directed including use and waste of form work (straight or curved) all exposed surface of concrete finished fair complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for brick work with old size Fly Ash bricks, straight or curved on plan exc 6.00 metre mean radius, built in cement mortar 1:4 complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for rendering 10 mm thick in cement mortar 1:6 on fair faces of brick work or concrete surfaces, finished fair & even complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for preparation of newly plastered / unplastered surfaces of walls & applying three coats of white wash complete all as specified.

S&F 125 mm size stainless steel butt hinges (ISI Marked), medium weight complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F 300mm long mild steel sliding door bolts, plate type, stove enamelled black, with bright bolt not less than 12mm dia with and including a minimum of 6 bolts and nuts, four on bolt plate and two on staple plate and fixed complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F rolled mild steel work as in Plates (plain or chequered) channels. Square cut or notched (ordinary and counter sunk) forming holes, without any attachment, including necessary welding etc. conforming to Fe 290 (Gde E-165) complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F rolled mild steel in framed work as in doors or gates of angle or other section with gusset plates, rails, braces, etc. complete, drilled for fixing of steel sheeting or other covering. Doors etc. to be prepared for hanging or sliding with and including either hooks and hinges or steel hanging door fittings (exclusive of steel sheeting or other covering, running rails and guides) and hanging, also fastening and fixing complete conforming to Fe 290 (Gde E-165) complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F mild steel framed work using ERW or induction butt welded tubes conforming to I.S 1161-1979 Grade St-240 including necessary welding, bolting, special shaped washer, clamps, cleats etc. complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for 100mm thick PCC 1:4:8, type D2 (using 40 mm graded crushed stone aggregate) as in sub-floors, sub-bases, floors and pavings, etc finished fair and even complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for average 40mm thick plain cement concrete 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate) as in floors, pavings, etc., finished even & smooth without using extra cement complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for preparation of new steel and iron surfaces of any description over 10 cm in width or girth and applying two coats of 1st quality synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chrome primer complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for writing letters or figures (Block, Roman, Italic or Indian) of size 8 to 10 cm high with thick synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a synthetic enamel paint circle of 30 cm dia in approved tint for describing building/ Bins numbers on concrete/plastered/steel surfaces complete all as specified & as directed. Note : The font, style, matter, tint of paint & place of writing shall be as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

M&L for cutting of existing PCC floor / hardstanding / Interlocking tiles path / WBM road with soling & premix carpet of any description for removing / laying UG Cables/ pipe line, depth of cutting not exceeding 90cm and width 50cm and filling the trench of road i.e. excluding top 20cm with existing aggregate obtained from cutting, watered and properly rammed to satisfaction of EIC and finally provide with & including 20 cm thick PCC 1:2:4 type B1 using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate to entire width of trench & finally match the top surface to road & disposal of debris to a distance not exceeding 250 metre and depositing where directed including re-setting of interlocking tiles/ Paver block (where required) complete all as directed.

Cutting / drilling the existing cast iron / ductile iron pipe upto 150mm bore in position for inserting of new Tees, branches etc including necessary excavation and earth work in any type of soil complete all as specified and as directed. Note: (i) Specials like Tees, branches, collars, reducers etc shall be measured and paid for separately (ii) Quoted rate shall deemed to be include for excavation and earth work in any type of soil.

Taking up or down existing unserviceable Cast Iron/ Ductile Iron / Mild Steel water main Pipes of 100mm bore of any class & type with spigot and socket ends and lead joints including burning out joints, flanged joints etc all as directed. Note : Excavation & earthwork and fittings shall be measured & paid for separately.

Taking up or down old rusted/ worn out GI tubing & connections of 80 mm bore fixed in any position and S&F new 80 mm bore galvanized steel water tubing medium grade (ISI Marked) with & including all necessary fittings (ISI Marked) such as bend, tee, elbow, etc laid in trenches/ floors or fixed on wall and ceiling complete all as specified and as directed. Note : Excavation & earthwork shall be measured & paid for separately.

Taking up or down old rusted/ worn out GI tubing & connections of 100 mm bore fixed in any position and S&F new 100 mm bore galvanized steel water tubing medium grade (ISI Marked) with & including all necessary fittings (ISI Marked) such as bend, tee, elbow, etc laid in trenches/ floors or fixed on wall and ceiling complete all as specified and as directed. Note : Excavation & earthwork shall be measured & paid for separately.

Dismantling & taking up or down existing unserviceable Cast Iron/ Ductile Iron / Mild Steel fittings, specials, etc such as bends, tapers, collars, reducers, tee pieces, etc upto 300mm bore of any class & type complete all as directed.

S&F MS fittings suitable for 80mm to 300mm bore pipes such as bends, tapers, etc any type and angle and straight connected pieces any type joint all flange ends including necessary cutting, welding, bending, drilling holes for bolts, in any shape or size as indicated or directed including necessary jointing materials such as nut, bolts, washers, packings and welding including testing for leakage etc to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge with & including painting external surfaces with two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chromate primer complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply and fixing Ductile Iron fittings, specials (K-12) such as bends, tapers, collars, reducers, tee pieces (single or double branch) any type, angle/radius and straight connecting pieces etc (ISI marked) conforming to IS-9523 for flanged/socket and spigot ends suitable for DI pipe upto 300 mm bore, complete all as specified and as directed.

Dismantling & taking down of cast iron, wrought iron or mild steel work of any description and from any position not otherwise provided for in this Schedule (BOQ), complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for Mild Steel work as in Base Plate for Header Chamber Cover/ Pump Set and similar works made as per manufacturer’s design by using various steel sections such as MS channel, plate, etc and proper alignment including necessary cutting, welding as required, pump supports structure etc confirming to Fe-290 (Gde E-165) with & including connections with suitable nut, bolts, etc and painting with two coats of synthetic enamel paint (Black colour) over a coat of zinc red oxide primer to all steel surfaces complete all as specified and as directed. Notes :- (i) Size, section and shape of MS members shall be as directed. (ii) Quoted rate shall deemed to be inclusive of painting. Weight of paint shall not be considered for payment purpose and quoted rate shall deemed to be included this aspect. (iii) Dismantling & taking down of existing old Base Plate for Header Chamber Cover/ Pump Set etc shall be measured and paid for separately under serial item No. 42 here-in-before.

M&L for Header made out of MS ERW pipes 250mm nominal bore and 7.01mm (minimum) wall thickness including necessary fabrication, cutting, welding, bending, drilling holes for bolts, in any shape or size for providing incoming & outgoing pipe connections with & including painting of external surfaces with two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint over a coat of zinc chromate primer complete all as specified and as directed. Notes : (i) Valves and PCC shall be measured and paid for separately. (ii) All inlet and outlet connections of ERW pipes of min thickness should be 7.01mm and flange welded duly drilled for fixing the valves at site. (iii) Quoted rate is deemed to be inclusive of welding and painting complete. (iv) Weight of paint shall not be considered for payment purpose and quoted rate shall deemed to be included this aspect. (v) Dismantling & taking down of existing old Header shall be measured and paid for separately under serial item No. 42 here-in-before.

Supply & fixing cast iron body sluice valve heavy duty class ‘PN-1.6’ of 150 mm bore, ISI marked with IS 14846, both flanged ends and drilled, high tensile stainless steel spindle, CI gate with brass ring, non rising type, cast iron wheel handle, cast iron cap, with 3mm thick neoprene rubber gasket joint and nuts, bolts (high tensile), washers etc, and testing, including dismantling & taking out old unserviceable sluice valve of 150 mm bore, complete all as specified & as directed.

S&F 100 mm bore butterfly valve cast iron body, class PN 1.6, ISI marked, single eccentric, double flanged short body type with all fittings, nuts, bolts and washers and necessary rubber gaskets etc., including taking down old butterfly valve compete all as specified and as directed.

S&F 150 mm bore butterfly valve cast iron body, class PN 1.6, ISI marked, single eccentric, double flanged short body type with all fittings, nuts, bolts and washers and necessary rubber gaskets etc., including taking down old butterfly valve compete all as specified and as directed.

Supply and fixing Non Return Valve (NRV) of size 150mm bore, cast iron body, as per IS 5312 (ISI marked), heavy duty, class ‘PN-1.6’, gun metal seat, both ends flanged and drilled, including nuts, bolts, washer and neoprene rubber gasket joint complete all as specified and as directed including dismantling & taking out old unserviceable non return valve of 150mm bore.

Supply and fixing Air Release Valve double ball type acting, cast iron body of 100mm bore size and Class PN 10, with flanged ends as per IS 14846, AWWA C512, double orifice with ISI mark and fixed in position with rubber gasket joints, nut, bolts and washers etc. complete all as specified & as directed.

M&L for construction of Valve Chamber of internal size 1200x1200x1200mm including necessary excavation & earth work in any type of soil, 150mm thick PCC 1:4:8 type D2 in foundation extended 150mm alround beyond external face of walls, 230mm thick brick work with old size fly ash bricks in CM 1:4, 15 mm thick plaster in CM 1:4 internally and externally flush pointed in same mortar as work proceeds, 150 mm thick PCC coping all round in PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20 mm graded stone aggregate) over walls, flooring shall be 40 mm thick PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20mm graded stone aggregate. Top cover shall be made out of MS sheet 3.00 mm thick fixed in angle iron frame made out of angle iron size 40x40x6 mm with two number of hinges on one side and locking arrangement at other side complete including painting with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide zinc chrome primer complete all as specified and directed including dismantling of old existing unserviceable vale pit chamber. Note : Any minor modification where required at site shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates. The decision of GE shall be final and binding regarding extent to which the change can be considered as minor.
