STRENGTHENING MEASURES AND REPAIRS TO DISPERSAL AREA, RUNWAY AREA, TAXI TRACK AND CERTAIN MISC WORKS IN TECH AREA AT AF STN CHANDIGARH

M&L for bringing approved earth (as approved by GE) from outside MoD land including all costs such as royality if any ,transportation, taxes, etc , filling & forming embankments at locations inside the Technical area as directed by Engineer in charge including all Tool and plant complete as specified and directed .

Surface dressing /Grass scraping including grass vegetation, shrubs etc not exceeding 15 cm deep and getting out in soft / loose soil along the runway shoulders , from the edges of runway, taxiway, surrounding blast pans or similar work including removing the rubbish out side the defence land at ocation earmarked by the local administration complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for rolling and consolidating forming surfaces with 8 to 12 tonne power roller, including filling in soft spots, depressions etc occuring during rolling (For portion coming in cutting/original ground only) to required camber and gradient including watering before or during rolling complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer in charge.

Forming emabankments including raising (or lowering) earth spreading in layers n.exc 25 cm thick each layer , watering ramming/rolling by mechanical means to achieve 98% dry density and finishing to required size, gradient/slope not exc 1.5 m high from base point complete all as specified and directed by Engr in charge.

All as per description of serial item no. 4 here in before but exc 1.5 m and not exc 3.00 m high from base point complete all as specified and directed by Engr in charge.

(ii) The Intial levels shall be taken before forming embankments and kept on record duly signed by GE ,AGE and Contractor similarly Final levels will be taken after forming amendments and kept on record duly signed bu all concerned.(iii) The measuremnets in plain and hill/slope terrain will be recorded adopting suitable rectangular section as decided by thee GE in writing.

Material and labour for painting one coat of water base paint after preparation of old surfaces as per manufacturer's instructions for marking lines, dashes, arrows, letters etc. on bituminous/ concrete roads, pavements, runways and other similar surfaces exc. 10 cm width or girth, with road marking paint/ traffic paint (water based) conforming to the requirements of IS-164 (1981) thickness in micron not less than 50 micron, white or golden yellow or any other shade approved by GE/Users by using air less spray machine Graco line 3900 with two guns and the maximum GPM (LPM) : 160 (6.0) PSI (Bar) 3300 (227) Engine CC (HP) 120 CC and maximum tip size : 0.029, or other fully compatible machine complete all as specified and directed.

Material & labour for Water Born Paint (WBP) having DFT 240 micron thick road marking strips (retro-reflective) of shade / colour as approved by GE/Users , using fully/ semi automatic paint applicator machine cold airless spray / striper with minimum two spray guns including application of Drop on glass beads driven by experienced operator on road surfaces , cleaning the road surface of all dirt, seals, oil, grease and foreign material etc complete and accordance with applicable specification on bituminous surfaces / concrete , Taxiway / Dispersal markings exceeding 10 cm width or girth as per recommended dimensions, using Graco line lazer 3900 with 2 guns and the maximum GPM(LPM) : 160 (6.0) PSI (Bar) - 3300 (227), Engine CC (hp) 120 cc and maximum tip size : 0.029, machine or other fully compatible machine complete all as specified and directed.

Providing and operating two Tractors (with driver) with Jungle Jim for removal of grass shrubs / vegetation, scraping / cutting or ploughing with harrow/ cultivator) on requirements basis (within 48 hrs of notice / demand) including two casual labours / day for removing the rubbish from site to out side MoD land complete all as specified and directed. Note: (I) Providing and operating two tractors with jungle Jims alongwith drivers including two labourers shall be measured as one unit i.e one Hour. (II). In case only one tractor (with driver with jungle jims and one labour is required and deployed, the payment under this item shall be reduced by 50% i.e half unit shall be considered against one hour working.

Providing and operating two Bush cutter (with Operators) with Bush cutter Blade for grass shrubs/ Vegetation scraping/cutting on requirement basis (within 48 Hrs of notice / demand) and removing the rubbish outside MoD land, complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for providing 16 to 25 mm wide Contraction (Dummy) Joints in rigid pavements (minimum depth 12 MM) after priming the vertical surfaces twice @ 0.075 liter (minimum) approved primer per square metere and sealant flush to a level of of 2 to 3 mm below the top of the adjacent pavement and provision of 30 mm dia polyurethane foam closed cell backup road including racking out old existing sealant compound and back up rod of the existing joints by special tools like cutting blades/machines, widening of joints 2 mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges, Joint cleaned thoroughly using air compressor , Joints shall be dried completely , vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil vegetation and other debris , applying of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the backup rod and pouring the sealant subsequently filled with closed cell medium density cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of compaitable dia as per the width of joint to the total length of the joint, filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of+/- 30% complete in repair all as specified and directed by Engr in charge.

M&L for repair to pot holes / patches /edges etc in existing concrete slabs / pavement by cutting out damaged portion around the pot holes / edges mechanically made to regular shape, removing the loose material to a distance exc 500 metre but n.exc 1000 m and cleaning the cut portion with compressed air to remove all foreign materials like dust, dirt, loose aggregates etc, priming the pot holes / patches with special primer recommended by manufacturer and filling with modified elastomaric concrete in proper levelling and shape to flush with the existing slab and joints including necessary form work complete all as per specified and directed.

M&L for repairing pot holes / patches / edges etc in existing cement concrete pavement by cutting out damaged portion around the pot holes / edges with mechanical equipment into regular shape and cleaning the surface with compressed air / other means to remove to remove all dust/ loose particles etc and disposing to a distance exceeding 500 mtr but nexc 1000 mtr and applying one coat of epoxy primer using clean and dry brush, filling with epoxy mortor all as per manufacturer's instructions in proper levelling and shape to flush with the existing slab and joints including necessary form work complete all as per specified and directed NOTE: The Contractor shall provide the safety life jackets to all concerned labour / supervisor and also provide work in progress board / pillar area and follow the rules of airfield complete all as specified and directed. Notes applicable for Srl item no. 1 to 14:- (i) The work will be carried out in patch near runway . Nothing extra will be admissible on this account. (ii) The Contractor may note that 05 Hours of closed slot is available on every Sunday from 0830 hrs to 1330hrs for execution of items of BoQ pertaining to Runway/Taxi/ Apron. The slot is tentative and can be increased/decreased as per availability by the Airport Authoriities. The work is to be executed to the entire satisfication as per contract provisions and best Engineering Practice. A CPM Chart is to be prepared with available slot and kept on record duly signed by the Contractor and Engineer-in-Charge. (iii). Panel recovery equivalent to the quoted rate ahainst respective item shall be made in case the work against these items are not completed by the contractor within specified period of runway closures. (v). All necessary arrangements for working at night (if permitted) during runway closures will be made by contractor without any extra cost to the Govt. including sufficient light arrangements through Gen set. (vi). The entire work on each closures is to be executed at two different locations by deploying two teams of skilled labour alongwith T&P required in each shift of 05 hrs.

(vii) Contractor shall arrange/provide the safety life jackets for all concerned Trademen, labour and supervisor deployed at site. (f) Contractor shall also provide at site the necessary precautionary Sign boards and Flags. (viii) All arrangements shall be made to comply the rules/regulatuons of the airfield aurthorities. (h) The quoted rates shall deem to be included for above provisions and nothing extra shall be admissible on this account.

De-Siliting/ cleaning of area drainage at depth upto 1.50 metre by rough excavation for cleaning existing drain and getting out in soil including cutting small bushes, small trees grith not exceeding 30 cm from sides of brick lined drain, including removing excavated materials exceeding 50 metre but not exceeding 250 metre and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.50 metre above from starting point, complete all as specified and directed.

Demolition of cement concrete in ground floors and pavings n exc 15 cm thickness (below or above ground level) and removal of rubbish out MoD land complete all as specified and as directed

M&L for Cement Concrete type C-2 (1:3:6) (40mm graded stone aggregate) as in surface channels and drains complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for Cement Concrete type D-2 (1:4:8) (40mm graded stone aggregate) as in sub floors, sub bases, floor and pavings etc complete all as specified and directed.

Demolition of brickwork / brick masonry, built in cement or cement lime mortar , including all quions, arches, pillars etc, but excluding ashlar facings, dressed stonework and precast concrete articles, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for Brick work with sub class ‘B’ bricks, straight or curved on plan exceeding 6 metre mean radius in cement mortar (1:6), using old size bricks, complete all as specified and directed.

Rendering 15 mm thick on brick work or concrete surfaces in CM 1:4 finished even and smooth, without using extra cement including taking down old plastered surface complete all as specified and directed .

M&L for preparation of newly plastered or un plastered surfaces of walls of any description and applying three coats of white wash complete all as specified.
