Replacement of damaged head end sprocket assembly of Dryer Discharge (DD) Elevator A in NP Plant, FACT CD during ATA 2022.
Replacement of damaged head sprocket of Dryer Discharge (DD) Elevator A in N P Plant. Work involves: Site arrangements, Collection of chain blocks, tools and Tackles from tool crib / store. Removal of coupling guards. De - coupling of the gear coupling with spacer of gear box out put shaft to the elevator sprocket. Dismantling of top cover of the Dryer Discharge (DD) Elevator A. Dismantle / Removal of required buckets at drive end area, to de - link the chain at both side. Fixing of chain blocks to hold the elevator chain and head sprocket at drive end area for lifting / hooking of de - linked chains to facilitate the easy removal of sprocket assembly. Removal of chain connecting pins, de- linking and hooking the chain at both side. Removal of head shaft sprocket assembly with plummer block and take out the damaged head end sprocket assembly. Transportation of damaged head end sprocket to the mechanical work shop. Transportation of gear coupling with spacer to site and replacement of gear coupling of gear box output shaft. Transportation of newly assembled head end sprocket to the mechanical work shop. Fixing of gear coupling to the newly assembled head end sprocket after fixing the bearing with plummer blocks. Plummer blocks shall be removed from the damaged head shaft assembly after removing the gear coupling. Transportation of newly assembled head end sprocket, from mechanical work shop to the site. Fixing of the newly assembled head end sprocket at site and provide assistance for alignment works. Re fixing of elevator chain over the sprocket, with connecting pins. Fixing back the dismantled buckets at drive end area. Inspection and repair of all guide angles shall be done as per instruction. The gear coupling shall be Coupled with spacer of gear box out put shaft to the elevator sprocket. Boxing up the bottom area, after inspection / clearance. Fixing of top cover, coupling guard after taking the trail run. Site cleaning and transportation of chain blocks, tools and Tackles to tool crib / store.
Replacement of damaged chain links in Dryer Discharge (DD)elevator A: Damaged chain links of the Dryer Discharge (DD) Elevator A, noticed, shall be rectified / replaced. Collect the required materials from stores or plant area. Remove the back stopper of gearbox, position the broken chain links and bucket for repair by hand rotation.Lift the tail end sprocket assembly with chain block. Dismantle and replace the damaged chain link / pins along with the buckets. Re-fix all dismantled side covers and position the tail end Sprocket assembly properly, box-up boot covers and inspection covers, Take trial run.
