:(a)Mounting and securing the hanger assembly onto the gantry crane and inspecting the fitting.
(b)Repeated connection/disconnection of the gantry power cable to the gate socket to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
(c)Continuous observation of the gearbox, brake assemblies, and crane movement during operations.
(d)Ensuring proper rail alignment of the gantry crane throughout the operation. Misalignment may lead to derailment or tipping, which poses a serious safety risk.
Stop Log Handling and used to stop the pond water during the gates repairing work..
(a)Using the gantry crane and hanger, three (3) pairs of stop logs shall be lifted from the rest boom located on the pier and transported to the designated barrage gate under repair.
(b)The alignment of the gantry and precise placement of stop logs shall be maintained by the helpers under the supervision of the crane operator. The agency shall provide a fully equipped diving team comprising:
(i).Two (2) Professional Divers
(ii).Two (2) Diver Assistants
(iii). One (1) Surface Supervisor to monitor the underwater operation and manage diver safety
(e )Diving Equipment & Safety Gear includes:Oxygen cylinders, Diver suits and goggles, Life jackets, Jetting machine (for silt removal) with compressor and Safety harnesses and belts.
The following underwater activities will be carried out under supervision:
1.Stop Log Placement:
Ensure stop logs are accurately positioned in the grooves of all three piers, reaching up to the sill level for effective water stoppage.
2.Silt Removal at Sill Level:
In case of silt accumulation, use the jetting machine to remove the deposit and allow proper placement of stop logs.
3.Alignment Maintenance Underwater:
Ensure that stop logs do not tilt during installation. Misalignment may lead to jamming or unbalanced load on the gantry.
4.Obstruction Management:
If the stop log gets stuck in the groove and the crane shows load, the hanger must be immediately detached, and the obstruction cleared underwater to avoid crane tipping.
5.Leakage Control:
If stop logs show leakage, it must be sealed using jute bags, dhotis, rubber strips, or leak-proof compound to maintain water levels and ensure a dry working condition for gate repair.
6. post-Repair & Emergency OperationsOnce gate repair is completed:
(a)The stop logs shall be removed and shifted to the next gate or back to the rest boom using the crane and hanger.
(b)The previously worked gate shall be shut down properly and declared free for operation.
