Special repair/ replacement of Fresh Water Supply Lines at certain locations at INS Valsura, Jamnagar

Excavating in trenches, not exc 1.5 metre wide and not exc 1.5 metre in depth, for foundation, etc. or for shafts, wells, cesspits, manholes, pier holes, etc. laying cables, pipes, etc. not exc 10 Sqm on plan & not exc 1.5m in depth and getting out in soft/loose soil complete all as specified and as directed.

Returning, filling in, including spreading, leveling watering and well ramming in layers not exc 25 cm thick in soft/loose soil complete all as specified and as directed.

Removing excavated soil/material to a distance not exc 50 metre and depositing where directed at a level not exc 1.50 metre above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for cutting/dismantling of existing PCC floor / hardstanding / Interlocking tiles path / WBM road with soling & premix carpet of any description for replacement / laying of water supply pipe lines and disposal of debris & rubbish to a distance exc 250m but not exc 500m and making good the same with & including plain cement concrete 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate) including re-setting of interlocking tiles after replacement / laying of pipe line complete all as specified & as directed.

Cutting / drilling the existing cast iron / ductile iron pipe of 100/ 150mm bore in position for inserting of new Tees, branches etc complete all as specified and as directed. Note: (i) Specials like Tees, branches, collars, reducers etc shall be measured and paid for separately (ii) Quoted rate shall deemed to be include for excavation and earth work in any type of soil.

Taking up existing 150mm bore CI/ DI pipes with all fittings and Supply, laying, jointing, commissioning and testing centrifugally cast Ductile Iron (DI) Spun pressure pipes (Class K9) of 150 mm bore (ISI marked) conforming to IS : 8329-2000 with internal cement mortar lining and external zinc coating (130 gm/sqm minimum) and bituminous finish layer (minimum thickness 70 microns) with socket & spigot ends with push on joints with & including EPDM rubber gasket laid in trenches in any length complete all as specified & as directed.

Taking up existing 100mm bore CI/ DI pipes with all fittings and Supply, laying, jointing, commissioning and testing centrifugally cast Ductile Iron (DI) Spun pressure pipes (Class K9) of 100 mm bore (ISI marked) conforming to IS : 8329-2000 with internal cement mortar lining and external zinc coating (130 gm/sqm minimum) and bituminous finish layer (minimum thickness 70 microns) with socket & spigot ends with push on joints with & including EPDM rubber gasket laid in trenches in any length complete all as specified & as directed. Notes applicable to serial item No. 6 & 7 :- (i) Excavation & earthwork shall be measured & paid for separately under relevant items of this Schedule. (ii) Fittings / specials shall be measured & paid for separately under relevant items of this Schedule. (iii) The water supply line repair work to be carried out both in Defence Cantt as well as in civil area in any description and in different locations in full / part (iv) It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that repair work is no where hampered during any stage i.e. currency of contract as such contractor shall prepare well in advance by laisoning with concerned State / Central department authorities under whose judristration it lies, in no case work to be stopped in half way for want of permission etc in case necessary fees if any shall be borne by the contractor for which no extra shall be reimbursed (v) Necessary barricade, diversion boards and necessary safety signs etc as per safety norms to be made arranged by Contractor without any extra cost to Govt. (vi) During execution damage occurred to any sort structure etc the same shall be made good to its original specification by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt.

Item No. 7 Contd/- (vii) In case of road cutting in side Defence Cantt is inevitable the same shall be cut to required size and shape only after obtaining written approval of Engineer-in Charge, in no case road cutting be done without written approval of EIC. vice versa if road cutting in Civil area is inevitable in that case necessary prior permission to be obtained from concerned Govt authorities in case of any fees etc the same to be borne by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt, the road cutting shall be measured and paid separately under relevant item of this Schedule.(viii) Work shall be commencement and completed within the time slots allotted by EIC to the contractor for the said work. (ix) Engineer-in-Charge should strictly note that the Work shall be carried out in batch wise portion of pipe line for replacement and span and ensure batch work shall be completed by contractor on the same day and pipe line should be made ready for regular water supply in case the same is inescapable alternative / temporary arrangement shall be made by the contractor without any extra cost to Govt as directed by EIC so that regular water supply is not hampered.

Taking down old rusted/ worn out GI tubing & connections of 20 mm bore fixed in any position and S&F new 20 mm bore galvanized steel water tubing medium grade (ISI Marked) with & including all necessary fittings (ISI Marked) such as bend, tee, elbow, etc laid in trenches/ floors complete all as specified and as directed. Note :- Excavation & earthwork shall be measured & paid for separately.

S&F in repairs 20 mm bore Gun metal gate valve (ISI marked) with iron wheel head, screwed both ends for iron pipe complete all as specified & directed.

All as per serial item No. 13 here in above but for 50 mm bore

Supply and fixing Cast iron fittings (ISI marked) upto 200 mm bore such as bends (any type, radius & angle), Tapers any type (straight, bend, increasing, decreasing or double socket etc), Tee pieces, single branch, “Y” junction, double branch, cross (all sockets or socket & spigot), collars, caps & plugs suitable for spigot & socketed pipes, complete all as specified & directed.

Supply and fixing Ductile Iron fittings, specials (K-12) such as bends, tapers, collars, reducers, tee pieces (single or double branch) any type, angle/radius and straight connecting pieces etc (ISI marked) conforming to IS-9523 for flanged/socket and spigot ends suitable for DI pipe upto 200 mm bore complete all as specified and as directed.

Dismantling & taking out old unserviceable sluice valve of 80 mm bore and Supply & fixing new cast iron body sluice valve heavy duty class ‘PN-1.6’ of 80 mm bore, ISI marked with IS 14846, both flanged ends and drilled, high tensile stainless steel spindle, CI gate with brass ring, non rising type, cast iron wheel handle, cast iron cap, with 3mm thick neoprene rubber gasket joint and nuts, bolts (high tensile), washers etc, and testing, complete all as specified & directed.

M&L for construction valve pit chamber of size 1200x1200x1200mm internal dimension including necessary earth work excavation with earth work on any type of soil, PCC 1:3:6, type C2 as in foundation, brick work in CM 1:4, 15 mm thick plaster in CM 1:4 internally and externally, flush pointed in same mortar as work proceeds, 75 mm thick PCC coping all round PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20 mm aggregate), flooring shall be 40 mm thick PCC 1:2:4 type B1 (using 20mm aggregate) laid over 75 mm thick hard core. Top cover shall be made out of MS sheet 3.00 mm thick fixed in angle iron frame made out of angle iron size 40x40x6 mm with two number of hinges on one side and locking arrangement at other side complete including painting with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide zinc chrome primer complete all as specified and directed including dismantling of old existing unserviceable vale pit chamber. Note : Any minor modification where required at site shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates. The decision of GE shall be final and binding regarding extent to which the change can be considered as minor.

M&L for top cover of valve pit chamber of size 900 x 900mm made with 3mm thick MS sheet with supporting MS angle iron frame made out of 40 x 6mm and painting with two coats of bitumen paint over a coat of red oxide primer and locking arrangement, fixed in repairs, complete all as specified and directed.
