PART - III - DESIGN, FABRICATION, ERECTION & TESTING OF PENSTOCK PIPES AND ACCESSORIES

Ultrasonic inspection of steel plate (Grade IS 2062 Grade C /ASTM A 537 or its equivalent IS) at place of delivery/ fabrication, prior to fabrication of plates including all expenses for testing arrangements, labour charges etc. complete as per specifications, approved drawings and as directed by departmental officers.

Design, Supply and Fabrication of Penstock Pipes by using steel plates conforming to ASTM A 537 or its equivalent IS specifications, including cost of steel, electrodes, welding flux and accessories, carrying out stress relieving and all tests other than those for which separate items are included sand blasting and protective coating -for inside, two coats of Zinc rich primer and two coats of coaltar epoxy paint. For outside, one coat of zinc rich primer followed by cement wash having a composition of cement, water and potassium dichromate in 20:8:1 ratio (for pipes coming inside the concrete) and two coats of rich zinc primer and two coats of coal tar epoxy paint (for open penstock pipes), insurance charges, all labour charges, transportation charges etc. complete as per specifications, approved drawings and as directed by the departmental officers.charges, all labour charges, transportation charges etc. complete as per specifications, approved drawings and as directed by the Departmental Officers.

Radiographic inspection of Shop weld carried out at fabrication site/factory as per specifications including all expenses for testing arrangements and labour charges etc. complete as directed by the departmental officers.

Radiographic inspection of field weld as per specification including all expenses for testing arrangements and labour charges etc. complete as directed by the departmental officers.

Erection and installation of pipes, flanges, bends, expanders, reducers, bifurcation pieces etc. including conveyance to the haulage position over the substructure anchors, placing in position, assembling, welding, and protective coating in weld joints - for inside two coats of coal tar epoxy paint, for outside second coat of cement wash having a composition of cement, water and potassium dichromate in 20:8:1 ratio (for penstock and specials coming inside the concrete) and two coats of rich zinc primer and two coats of coal tar epoxy paint (for open penstock pipes), etc. complete as per specifications and approved drawings including all labour charges, transportation charges, equipments, final protective coating, insurance charges etc. complete as directed by the Departmental Officers at site.

Design, Supply, Fabrication and Erection of rocker supports to the penstock using ASTM A-537 plate, various size steel sections etc., straightening, cutting fabricating and hoisting including greasing, applying one coat of iron primer and painting with coal tar epoxy paint 2 coats, etc. complete. as per drawing and as directed by the departmental officers.

Cutting Bulk head and existing Penstock pipes and shifting the same to the store including costs of all labour charges, equipments etc. complete.

Fabrication and welding of spider supports for the penstock pipes as per specifications, including cost of steel and all other materials, labour, conveyance and a coat of priming with red oxide primer and as per directions by the departmental officers.
