Mobilization of boring equipment for soil investigation and demobilizatioin of equipments after completion of work.

Shifting of entire arrangement of equipment from one bore hole to another bore hole for boring/drilling.

Bore holes be made using auger and representative soil samples be collected from the bore holes at every 1.00 m depth intervals or every change of STRATA. Total depth of Bore holes shall be 10 mtr or upto hard rock level whichever is earlier. The diameter of the bore holes be 150mm including following: - (a) Field investigation is to be carried out based on the site plan showing the locations of the test point for each proposed building. Standard penetration test as per relevent IS is to be conducted at 1 mtr /2 mtr intervals continuous, one Standard Penetration Test ( SPT) be conducted near the bore hole locations. The SPT consist of driving 25mm diameter cone by a 10 kg drop weight with a free fall of 500mm the number of blows for every 50mm be recorded and CPR values be recorded.

6.Laboratory investigation : The soil samples be tested in the laboratory to evaluate the following:- a) Type of soil and its gradation b) Consistency limit c) Natural density d) Natural water content e) Shear tests (A). In order to determine the above properties the following test be conducted :- a) Sieve analysis on the coarse grained soil fraction. b) Hydrometer analysis on the fine grained soil fraction. c) Liquid and plastic limits. d) Natural density and water content test. e) Shear tests. f) Free swell index. g) Specific gravity test . (B). The results of the held investigations conducted in the bore holes and the laboratory investigations conducted on the soil samples collected from the bore holes be presented in the form of soil profile tables. For designing the foundation system of the proposed structures and suitability of excavated soil for refilling in foundation and under floors the following data are required :- a) Type of foundation system b) Depth below the ground level at which the foundation system be laid. c) Allowable bearing pressure. (C). The results from theses investigations and test has to be analyzed to provide the required recommendation for the design of foundations for bldgs of G+5 storey construction such as depth of the foundation and type of foundation and suitability of excavated soil for filling in foundation and under floors. (Note: The report shall be submitted in quadruplicate)
