Modernization of Western Main Canal from 0.00 km to 7.10 km of Sone Canal System under Bihar Water Security and Irrigation Modernization Project BWSIMP

Loosening, leveling, and compacting the original ground supporting the embankment to facilitate placement of the first layer of embankment. The surface shall be scarified to a depth of 150 mm, mixed with water at OMC, and compacted by rolling to achieve a minimum dry density as per Table 300-2 of MoRTH Specifications for embankment construction. This item includes cost of labour, equipment, watering, rolling, and all incidentals but excludes supply of earth.

Construction of granular sub-base (GSB) of Grade-I material as per Clause 401 of MoRTH Specifications, by providing close-graded material, mixing in a mechanical mix plant with water at Optimum Moisture Content (OMC), transporting the mix to site, spreading in uniform layers using a motor grader on a prepared surface, and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve a minimum of 98% of laboratory Maximum Dry Density (MDD) as per Modified Proctor Test. The rate shall include cost of material, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all other incidentals required to complete the work as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge. Providing, laying, spreading, and compacting graded stone aggregate to Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) specification as per Clause 406 of MoRTH Specifications (latest revision), including premixing the material with water at Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) in a mechanical mix plant, transporting the mixed material to site by tipper, laying in uniform layers using a grader on a well-prepared sub-base/base, and compacting with a vibratory roller to achieve a minimum of 98% of laboratory Maximum Dry Density (MDD) as per Modified Proctor Test. The rate shall include cost of material, royalty, taxes, carriage, labour, and all other incidentals required to complete the work as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Providing and applying primer coat with SS-1 grade bitumen emulsion on the prepared surface of the granular base, including cleaning of the road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.70 kg/sqm using mechanical means, as per Clause 502 of MoRTH Specifications and IS:8887-2018. The rate shall include cost of material, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all other incidental works required for completion of the item as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge

Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.20 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface cleaned with mechanical broom. The rate shall include cost of material, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all other incidental works required for completion of the item as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Providing and laying bituminous macadam as per Clause 504 of MoRTH Specifications, using crushed aggregates of specified grading premixed with bituminous binder in a hot mix plant of adequate capacity, transporting the mix to site, laying with a mechanical paver on a previously prepared surface to the required grade, level, and alignment, and compacting with appropriate rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per Clauses 501.6 and 501.7 of MoRTH. The rate shall include cost of materials, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all other incidental charges to complete the work in all respects as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Providing, laying and rolling of open graded premix surfacing (OGPS) of 20 mm thickness composed of 13.2 mm to 0.09 mm graded aggregates (Type-B) using viscosity grade bitumen to the required line, grade, and level to serve as a wearing course on a previously prepared base. The mix shall be prepared in a suitable hot mix plant of capacity not less than 200 tonnes/hour, laid with a mechanical paver, and compacted with a smooth wheeled roller to the specified level and grade, as per Clause 509 of MoRTH Specifications. The rate includes cost of material, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all other incidentals to complete the work in all respects as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Providing and laying premixed seal coat Type-B for sealing the voids in a bituminous surface, laid to the specified levels, grade, and cross fall using a mix of fine aggregates and bitumen, as per Clause 510 of MoRTH Specifications. The seal coat shall be prepared in a hot mix plant, transported to site, and laid with a mechanical paver followed by rolling to achieve uniform surface finish. The rate includes cost of all materials, carriage, royalty, taxes, labour, and all incidental charges for completion of the work as per specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Jungle clearance and weeding out of shrubs, including cutting and removal of small trees up to 0.50 m girth, uprooting roots, stacking of serviceable material, and disposal of unserviceable material outside the project area, all complete as per Clause 201 of MoRTH Specifications and as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge.

Earthwork in excavation of canals and dhars carrying a minimum full supply discharge above 28 cumecs (1000 cusecs) in ordinary soil (classified as Soil Type A – non-expansive, non-cohesive ordinary soil as per BIS classification IS:1498–1970, reaffirmed 2002), and using the excavated earth to form canal banks in proper profile. Work includes clod breaking, laying earth in layers not exceeding 225 mm, watering and compaction to achieve a minimum of 98% of laboratory Maximum Dry Density (MDD) as per Modified Proctor Test, including all leads and lifts, and disposal if required. The rate includes cost of labour, carriage, royalty, taxes, and all incidental charges, and shall be executed as per MoRTH Clause 305 and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge.
