Excavation in earthwork in hilly areas in all heights and depths, in all kind of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiselling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and levels as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification clause 1603.1 and 1603.2 to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner,up to all leads & lift and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth riding. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases. The recovery of useful stones of 14147.18 cubic metre @ 300/- per cubic metre amounting to Rs. 4214154/- only shall be done on pro-rata basis for the quantity of cutting in earth work effected.

Providing and applying priming coat with bitumen emulsion (SS-I) at the rate of 0.70 -1.00 kg (zero point seven zero - one point zero kilogram) per square metre on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface with mechnical broom as per technical specification clause 502 including hauling of material with in all leads and lifts by all modes of transportation and as per the directions of Engineer-in-Charge including carriage of material within all leads and lifts and other incidentals and to the entire satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge .
Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion (RS-I) at the rate of 0.25 -0.30 kg (zero point two five - zero point three zero kilogram) per square metre on granular surface treated with primer coat cleaned with hydraulic broom as per technical specification clause 503 including hauling of material with in all leads and lifts by all modes of transportation and as per the directions of Engineer-in-Charge including carriage of material within all leads and lifts and other incidentals and to the entire satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge .
