Mechanical repair works to 05 cusec diesel engine driven pumping unit at Kujar of MISD Ganderbal.

A) Rubber-armoured suction pipe repair: Mechanical transportation of rubber armoured pipe/ footvalve etc. using appropriate means of transport as under: Tata Mobile / Tractor or similar (lead distance = 19 km one side)

Dismantling, handling, shifting and positioning of 250 mm dia × 6 m long rubber-armoured suction pipe weighing approx. 400 kg, including disconnection from pumping unit and placing at repair site (excluding transportation/carriage)

Heavy-duty repair of damaged/cut portion of 250 mm dia rubber-armoured suction pipe by vulcanization process, including inspection and measurement of damaged portion; removal of loose/damaged rubber; cutting and preparation of edges; grinding/buffing and roughening of bonding surfaces; cleaning and degreasing; application of approved rubber bonding compound; provision and application of suitable rubber sheets/reinforcement layers; incorporation of suitable cord/fabric reinforcement compatible with existing hose construction; wrapping and consolidation of repair layers; application of heat and pressure in suitable vulcanizing equipment; curing/vulcanization; removal of excess material; trimming and finishing of repaired portion; and final visual inspection for continuity and soundness of repair. The work shall restore the structural integrity and vacuum resistance of the suction hose suitable for pumping-unit operation.

Repair and reinforcement of suction hose ends, flanges/couplings, clamps and sealing arrangements, wherever found necessary during dismantling/inspection, including removal of defective minor components, cleaning of mating surfaces, provision/fitting of minor rubber reinforcement, sealing material, clamps, fasteners, nuts, bolts and other incidental consumables; ensuring proper seating and leak-free connection at the pump/foot-valve end.

Reinstallation of repaired 250 mm dia rubber-armoured suction pipe, including shifting from repair location to pumping unit, positioning, alignment and connection with pump suction/foot valve; proper seating of couplings/flanges; tightening of clamps, nuts and bolts; checking of hose support and bends; ensuring that the hose is not subjected to excessive bending, twisting or mechanical stress; and carrying out vacuum/leakage testing and operational checking after installation.

Hiring of JCB for handling an loading of Rubber armoured suction pipe, footvalve etc. (Note: The time in hours is inclusive of the to and fro journey of the JCB/crane)

Maintenance repairs to the MS foot valve by way of dismantling and then assembling after the following repairs: a. Providing of leather disc face washer for foot valve (78 sq inch) b. Providing of natural rubber gasket with nominal size 250 mm (01 No.) c. Providing and fitting of carbon steel Fasteners of assorted size (4 kg)

B) 12V charging-system repair: Inspection, fault diagnosis, removal, dismantling and servicing of existing 12 V battery-charging alternator, including checking of charging output, drive arrangement, electrical connections, mounting condition, belt condition/tension, terminals and associated wiring; removal of alternator from diesel engine where required; dismantling and inspection of internal components; cleaning and servicing; identification of defective components; and preparation for repair/reassembly.

Repair/renewal of alternator internal components, as required, including inspection and replacement/repair of brushes, brush holder, rectifier/diode assembly, bearings, slip rings and other minor electrical/mechanical components, together with minor consumables such as cleaning materials, insulation material, soldering/brazing materials, terminals and associated items; reassembly and bench/functional testing of alternator after repair.

Replacement of 12 V alternator voltage regulator, including removal of defective regulator, fitting of suitable replacement regulator compatible with existing 12 V diesel-engine charging alternator and testing of regulated charging voltage under no-load and engine-running conditions.
