General Notes Applicable to all BOQ Items
1) The make/model/brand for all the BOQ items shall be as per suggestive makes of Annexure-B of Section-VII of the tender document. The make/model/brand mentioned in Annexure-B of Section-VII of the tender document is merely for guidance and bidders can prefer any other make which is meeting technical specifications given under Section-V and Schedule of Quantities of Tender document and shall confirm to the relevant BIS codes and other relevant codes. However, the bidder may suggest any equivelent make/ model/brand meeting technical parameters on or before pre-bid conference for approval of BARC(V). 2) Only sieved river sand/crushed stone sand confirming to Zone-II from Godavari river or Varaha river or Vamsadhara river or Sarada river or Nagavali river / Crushed stone sand shall be used as fine aggregate and Graded hard broken granite metal of 3 stage (VSI) material shall be used as coarse aggregate in relevant items. Specification for fine and coarse aggregate shall confirm to IS:383 (latest revision) 3) In view of limit on water-cement ratio for durability requirements in design mix concrete, concrete admixtures (Carboxylate based superplasticizers) can be used after taking prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge and the rates quoted for concrete items shall be inclusive of the cost of admixtures, Design mix, trial mixes, testing (at site & at approved labs), etc. complete. 4) The contractor shall set up sufficient number of self loading mobile concrete mixers inside the project area for the production of concrete.
9) For all standards and code of practices, specifications, like Indian Standard, MORT&H, ASTM, etc. refer only latest revisions including all applicable amendments, revisions and additional publications (during contract period) and these have to be followed. 10)Prior approval for source of all construction materials by submission of relavent test certificates, documents, invoices etc. have to be taken from BARC. 11) All the tests mentioned in Quality Assurance Plan(QAP) should be carried out without any extra cost. 12) The contractor has to submit all royalty /seigneiorage slips,etc for all the naturally available construction materials before submitting the RA bills.
INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS
Note: The rates in respect of filling items is applicable for the net quantities arrived as per the actual difference in levels jointly taken by the department and the contractor after compaction of the earth as mentioned in the item description.
Filling of areas with available excavated soil/soft rock under basement floors, in plinths and around building etc., including loading, transporting with a lead upto 1000m, unloading, removal of organic matter/roots/plastic/ all kinds of vegetation/small shrubs, etc., breaking of lumps and spreading in layers maximum compacted thickness of 250mm thick with suitable Earth rammers/vibro roller to achieve a minimum of 90% proctor density at optimum moisture content with all lifts, bailing/ pumping out of water to keep the site dry while backfilling, etc. complete all as per drawings and Technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Note: All necessary tests shall be conducted as per QAP and rate quoted shall include all tests.
Supplying, lowering, laying of RCC Pipes (Class NP2) confirming to IS:458 with necessary collars, laid to correct grade & levels at all depth, including cutting to lengths, jointing with hemp yarn & cement mortar 1:1, caulking the joints, finishing, curing and testing all as per Technical specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Cost including reinforcement steel, materials and labour etc., including hoisting, placing in position by manual or mechanical means and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge including testing of joints etc. complete. (Note: Excavation, bedding shall be measured seperately under relevant item)

Providing and laying 1st class bedding below RCC pipes with crushed stone sand or other granular materials passing through 4.75 mm seive as per IS 383 etc. complete all as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Cost including supply of all materials and labour complete.
Supplying and injecting with approved quality chemical emulsion (Imidacloprid) at the rates and concentrations as per IS 6313 Part II for preconstructional anti termite treatment and creating a chemical barrier under and around the foundations, masonry pits, masonry foundations, wall trenches, plinth filling, junctions of wall and floor, expansion joints, surfaces of RCC works for a depth of min. 500mm from the finished ground level, surrounding pipes, conduits etc., walls retaining soil above floor level, apron and drain along the perimeter of the building including all associated works complete as per specification / IS 6313 and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (only ground floor plinth area of the building will be measured for the payment in the following three stages). a) 20% after completion of the foundations/plinth beam. b) 50% after completion of the ground floor flooring. c) 30% after completion of all treatment works including ground floor doors & windows and around the building. Work to be executed by approved agency and specified guarantee for 10 (Ten) years shall be furnished by the tenderer. Payment will be cleared only after submission of Guarantee. Note: The payment part of (a) will be made only for the areas, which were not treated previsouly.

PCC & RCC WORKS
Note: 1) Rates quoted for PCC & RCC items shall include cost of sieved river sand/ crushed stone sand as fine aggregate and graded hard broken granite metal of 3 stage (VSI) material as a coarse aggregate. 2) The mix shall be desiged to maintain the desired slump (as required at site/specified in IS code). In view of limit on water-cement ratio for durability requirements in design mix concrete, admixtures can be used after taking prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge and the rates quoted for the items shall be inclusive of the cost of admixtures, trial mixes, testing (at site & at approved labs), etc. complete. 3) The contractor shall set up fully automatic batching plant/sufficient number of Self loading mobile concrete mixers inside the project area for the manufacture of concrete. 4) Contractor may also be allowed to procure concrete from prior approved RMC plants on prior approval of the BARC subject to maintain required slump at site during pouring.To that extent suitable Mix Design should be carried out with required retention period. No, extra payment will be made if concrete is brought from RMC plants outside the project area. 5) The rate of concrete shall include all labour, equipment, charges for mixing & cost of admixtures. 6) Test certificate of cement, procured from dealer/company has to be submitted for all concrete works by the contractor. 7) Rate quoted for RCC items shall include cost of relevant design mix and testings.
8) This item is applicable for all PCC and RCC structural elements like footings, beams, columns, slabs, lintels, chajjas, walls etc., for all heights and leads. 9) Only steel scaffolding, staging, supporting system to the formwork and steel frame work will have to be used for all RCC structural elements. 10) All surfaces adjacent to EPs, etc., shall be in true line and level & irregularities, if any, shall be rounded by mechanical grinding, chiseling, finishing the same using epoxy silica sand mortar at no extra payment. 11) Form finish F3 shall be provided to all exposed surfaces of the concrete.
Providing and laying in position cement concrete of 1:3:6 (1 cement, 3 river Coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand, 6 graded stone aggregate of maximum size 20 mm) at all elevations including for roads. Cost includes consolidation, finishing curing etc. complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge but excluding the cost of form work shuttering, centering all as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and laying design mix reinforced cement concrete of M30 Grade by weigh batching using graded stone aggregate of 20mm max. size and coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand of approved quality including admixtures of approved Brand and quality, including handling & transportation, scaffolding, mechanical mixing, placing to required location by hoisting and / or pumping & mechanical vibration, consolidation, finishing, curing, hacking of concrete surfaces wherever required etc. complete at all levels in substructure/superstructure, roads, etc as per specifications & also including dewatering, if any, complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge but excluding formwork, shuttering and steel reinforcement. Note: 1) The minimum cement content shall be 390kg/Cum of concrete. However, actual cement content required shall be based on design mix requirements carried out at BARC approved (NABL accredited) laboratory. In case the cement quantity consumed more than the specified above, the cost towards extra cement will not be paid. 2)Temparature raised due to heat of hydration shall be kept within limits in mass/slab concrete by keeping proper curing mechanism.

Note: 1) The minimum cement content shall be 400 Kgs per cubic metre of concrete and with water cement ratio including the water contained in the aggregates not exceeding 0.40. However, actual cement content required shall be based on design mix requirements carried out at BARC approved (NABL accredited) laboratory. In case the cement quantity consumed more than the specified above, the cost towards extra cement will not be paid. 2) Slump shall be in the range of 150mm to 180mm 3)Temparature raised due to heat of hydration shall be kept within limits in mass/slab concrete by keeping proper curing mechanism.

REINFORCEMENT & STRUCTURAL STEEL
Providing Reinforcement steel of all diameters for reinforced cement concrete at all levels including supplying, preparation of bar bending schedules, cutting, bending, transporting to all elevations, placing and keeping in positions, all leads, fixing, tieing with 1.2 mm dia annealed GI coated binding wire including all labour charges, cost of cover blocks (in same grade of concrete) of various thicknesses and sizes etc. all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Using TMT Bars of Specified Grades of all sizes. TMT bars to be supplied by the contractor of grade - Fe 500D / Fe-500EQR.

Notes: 1) 1.2mm dia annealed GI coated (20 micron to 40 micron) binding wire required for the work will have to be supplied by the contractor at their own cost and will not be measured for payment. 2) Fe-500D / Fe-500EQR bars as per IS to be supplied by the contractor. 3) Reinforcement bars from conversion agents / re-rollers of above manufacturers, will not be accepted. 4) No extra payment will be made on account of Rolling Margin & wastage. 5) Contractor shall supply copy of the documentry evidence of purchase of steel, test certificate from these manufacturers and also test from third party to be carried out at no extra cost.

MASONRY WORKS

Note for flyash bricks: In the fly ash bricks the mix confirming to the strength mentioned in the respective items shall be got approved by the department. The mix shall consist of ordinary portland cement content of required % of the mixture consisting of Fly ash, OPC and Gypsum or any variation in proportion of design mix to obtain specified mix shall be submitted to BARC for approval. The Anhydraous Gypsum, Fly Ash, Cement, Crusher dust and other materials shall confirm to the the relevant IS codes. The Anhydrous Gypsum shall be procured from a reputed source in Cuddlore in Tamilnadu approved by the department, from TANFAC industries, Cuddlore, Tamilnadu. Roller mixer shall be used for good homogeneous mixing. Note : a) Reinforcement will be measured & paid for separately under relevant item. b) RCC band and formwork shall not be measured seperatly, however no deductions will be made in brickwork for the same. c) No holes in brickwall will be allowed for scaffolding. Only double tubular steel scaffolding be allowed.
PLASTERING WORKS
Providing 15 mm thick Plain Internal Plastering in cement mortar 1:4 (using river sand) finished smooth, including sieving of sand to required fineness, preparation of the surface, double steel tubular scaffolding, curing all as per specifications, drawings and as directed at site etc. complete all as per Technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

PAINTING WORKS
Providing and applying two coats of cement primer of approved brand on RCC/ plastered wall surface, columns, beams, ceiling to receive specified paint including scaffolding complete all as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge
Providing, painting and finishing walls with two coats of exterior emulusion paint on sand face plaster/ plain plaster & concrete of required shade over newwork including base coat of waterproofing cement paint, preparation of the surfaces, scaffolding complete as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and Painting two coats of synthetic enamel paint on steel surfaces of approved brand and manufacture to give an even shade over a primer coat. Cost including preparation of the surfaces,scaffolding, primer coat complete. as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge
Providing and Painting with Epoxy PU paint using 2 coats of (120 Micron dry film thickness) Epoxy PU high build coating as finishing coat over a priming coat of EPILUX-13 High Build primer of 50 micron thickness over steel surfaces at all locations prepared and applied as per manufacturer' specifications including preparation of surface by cleaning with wire brush and rubbing, scraping ,applying sand paper , making free of Rust, dust, dirt etc. filling the holes, joint, cracks if any using epoxy putty complete. all as per manufacturers technical data and as directed at site to achieve minimum overall dry Film thickness of 170 micron (50 Micron primer Coat + 120 micron finishing Coat). Providing and laying integral cement based treatment for water proofing (BOX TYPE) on vertical surfaces to the Basement, UG tanks, sumps, Retaining walls, Lift Pits, Trenches & other structures at all levels/depths, complete all as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge, and consisting of fixing 25mm thick approved and specified Cuddapah rough stone with cement slurry mixed with water proofing compound confirming to IS:2645 in the proportion recommended by the manufacturer with a gap of 10mm to 15mm between stone slabs and the receiving surfaces and filling the gaps with neat cement slurry mixed with water proofing compound and finishing the exterior of the stone slab with cement mortar CM (1:4) (using coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand) 20mm thick with neat cement punning mixed with water proofing compound in recommended proportions, including preparing the surface making ‘V’ grooves at junctions, joints, cracks etc. providing nozzles and grouting them under pressure etc., complete at all levels and depths as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge. The total thickness of water- proofing treatment shall be about 55 to 60 mm. The contractor shall provide 10 years of guarantee in the format accepted by the department.
DISMANTLING
Dismantling Plain Cement concrete manually / by mechanical means carefully without damaging adjacent structures including disposal of debris within 200 m lead as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
Dismantling of RCC works carefully without damaging reinforcement steel and adjacent structures after cutting grooves to the portion to be dismantled, cost includes cutting grooves, cutting of steel reinforcement bars if required and disposal of unserviceable materials within 200 m lead as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
Making openings in RCC slabs, walls and other RCC structures of required size & shape including cutting of reinforcement if necessary and rate quoted shall include labour and disposing of materials away, along with finishing the concrete etc. complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (Note: The volume of RCC removed for making the opening will only be measured for payment).
INTERNAL P.H. WORKS
Note : The detailed specification of PH works are indicated in respective items and specification documents. In addition to this the bidder shall also consider the requirement indicated in specification document no. 20299 which describes the general specification for all PH items.

The copper conductor has to be coupled with junction boxes with screw and nut. it has to be dropeed to flush boxes and connected to the same.
