PMGSY 3 - INVESTIGATION WORKS, ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND DPR PREPARATION FOR KAVASTHALAM BRIDGE (50 METER LENGTH, 4 SPANS, 8.4 METER WIDE) ACROSS VAMANAPURAM RIVER AT Ch.4/900 KM ON KOTTUKUNNAM ANACHAL MAMMOODU ROAD IN VAMANAPURA AND PULIMATH GRAMA PANCHAYATS (PACKAGE NO.KR 12 102) IN VAMANAPURAM BLOCK, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DISTRICT.
Appendix - A - Site survey and Data Collection
Total Station surveying and preparation of site plan - Plain built up area with hindrance to line of sight due to buildings / structures - contour survey for required area including approach roads,Longitudinal and Cross sectional details of River - cross section upto 50 m downstream and cross section upto 50 m upstream of bridge alignment.( 100*50=5000㎡=0.5Ha), river training works, embankment protection, etc- Calucaltion of catchment area by gathering local information and topographical survey data and other important data etc. Presentation of the data through drawings and reports in standard formats - Hard copies and soft copies - 6 sets of the DPR containing the above shall be delivered upon the satisfactory completion of the work.(2*150*20=6000㎡=0.6Ha)
Hydraulic and velocity calculation of River - Hydraulic design particulars in detail such as MFL, LWL, HTL, LTL, latest rainfall data, safe bearing capacity, settlement characteristics, discharge calculation, velocity, scour depth, linear waterway, afflux, ventway calculation, foundation levels, height of abutment and piers, vertical and horizontal clerances, free board for approach road, etc as per IRC 5:2015 and IRC:SP: 13:2004 for bridge alignment , river training works viz protection works, aprons with cut off walls etc.Presentation of the data through drawings and reports in standard formats -6 sets of the DPR containing the above shall be delivered upon the satisfactory completion of the work.

Erecting platform over 2 No’s of second class boat using mango wood planks of not than 30mm thick, mango wood joists of 10mm x 70mm at 60cm intervals including labour and hire hire of all materials and dismantling the platform after completion of work etc, complete excluding the hire of boats (A platform of minimum, size 6.00 x 5.00 m will be required) - 2 x 30
Hire charges for providing 2 Nos of IInd class boat with boatman for erecting the platform over which the boring plant in to be erected and 1 no of IInd class boat with one boatman for conveying the departmental staff and labour engaged from the banks to platform and back etc
Compilation of all field data including layout of bore holes with recommendation for Safe Bearing Capacity(SBC) and a suitable foundation based on conducting necessary lab tests. Presentation of the data through drawings and reports in standard formats - Hard copies and soft copies - 6 sets of the DPR containing the above shall be delivered upon the satisfactory completion of the work.

Appendix - C - Analysis, Design and Detailing of Bridge
Preparation of General Arrangement Drawings vide data avalaible from Appendix A and Appendix B above. Preparation of detailed design for a bridge of 8.40 m width with footpath, on approval of GAD with calculations and drawings. Analysis ( inluding sesimic and wind loads) and Modelling of structure (including all assumptions) using proven bridge design software using Limit state method . Design, drawings and detailing (ductile detailing if necessary as per IRC:SP:114:2018) of all structural components of the bridge including bearing pedestals, sesimic arrestors, reaction block, crash barrier etc inaddition to foundations, sub-structure, deck slab, bearings, expansion joints, railings, wearing coat and other appurtenances following relevant codes. The drawings should be accompanied by bar bending schedule for each components. Design of approach road, its protection works, river training works, river protection,embankment protection, acess to the river etc, as per relevant codes to be included. Preparation of detailed estimate with rate analysis following the latest schedule of rates. The DPR should also include project benefits, sensitivity analysis etc. Presentation of the data through drawings and reports in standard formats - Hard copies and soft copies - 6 sets of the DPR containing the above shall be delivered upon the satisfactory completion of the work .
Preparation of detailed project report of the bridge works as per the standard template provided by the NRIDA and as as per the direction of departmental officers and STA, containing all the above collected data, analysis, design and detailing etc, site plan,alignment plan, key plan, contour plan, index map, catchment area map,geological map, longitudinal and cross section of of road and river cross section of bridge, hydraulic data, river characteristics, catchment area characteristics, flood flow data, sub-soil data including bore log data, metrological data, any special design requirements, existing services, hydraulic and velocity calculations, economic evaluation, Environmental Imapct Assesment as per the guidelines of Ministry of Environment and Forests . Presentation of the data through drawings and reports in standard formats - Hard copies and soft copies - 6 sets of the DPR containing the above shall be delivered upon the satisfactory completion of the work.
