Technical Specifications for supply and installation of Refrigerated centrifuge 1. Type and make: Refrigerated Benchtop centrifuge • Aerosol tight fixed angle rotor with capacity to accommodate a minimum 20 numbers of 1.5/2 mL microfuge tubes to be supplied with centrifuge • Adaptor sets for 0.2ml PCR tubes and 0.5ml/0.6ml microlitre tubes to be supplied • Instrument should have option for easily changing rotor to swinging bucket, and or microplate or fixed angle rotor (15/50ml tube) at later stage • Must have wide temperature range of -11°C to + 40°C (refrigerated), which can be adjustable during the run operation • Must be able to maintain at 4°C at max. speed. • Max speed of more than 12,000 rpm, max rcf more than of 20,000g • Centrifuge must have a “fast cool” function where cooling process can be shortened • Must have automatic temperature start up at a specific time to automatically pre- prepare temperature before centrifugation • Acceleration time to maximum speed must be less than 14s for all rotors at max load and a deceleration time of less than 15s with the standard1.5/2ml rotor, but has option to accelerate and decelerate gently for sensitive samples using specific key. • Centrifuge should have running time option for continuous run • Power requirements: 230V, 50-60 HZ, if stabilizer is required it must come with instrument 2. General features: • Must have digital display of time, speed and temperature • Programmable time and speed using jog dials/keypad • Must be able to store 50 routine procedures with 5 programmable buttons for frequently used programs in the first level • Able to switch display between rcf and rpm speed setting • Separate short spin key • Low noise levels less than 63db at max speed • Brushless maintenance free drive • Automatic motorised locking when lid almost closed 3. Safety features: • IEC 61010-2-020 or CE/UL certified for safety and compliance with international standards • Rotor should be made of anodised aluminium to ensure chemical resistance • Chamber must be of stainless steel material • Any rotors, caps, buckets and adaptors supplied must be must be autoclavable at 121°C for 20min to completely eliminate any contaminating material • Aerosol tightness should be certified by external body • Automatic imbalance detection • Automatic rotor recognition • 2-point lid screwing for maximum security even at high speed centrifugation • It should have built-in condensation drain to eliminate excess water to prevent corrosion. • Should use CFC free refrigerant 4. Warranty - Two-year comprehensive on-site warranty (minimum). 5. Documentation should include User/Technical/Maintenance manuals, list of important spares and accessories with their part number and price and list of recent end-users in centrally or state funded research/academic institutes in Kerala or other parts of India. 6. Readily available service support based in Kerala from manufacturer (support document to be submitted from manufacturer side) 7. The vendor needs to provide the address of certified and authorized service center for the quoted equipment in/ nearest to Thrissur, Kerala. 8. The equipment should be installed, tested and demonstrated on-site at the requested location by authorized service agents of the manufacturer/vendor. 9.
