item shall include the rate of providing form work, centering nails, labour for removing form work,
etc., and no separate charge shall be paid for it.The form work once used shall be properly cleaned
using wire brush and grease or oil shall be applied on it. The centering and form work shall have to
be got approved from the executive engineer and the centering shall be supported on double tier.
The form work shall be kept in position for 4 days for column, 4 days for slab and 22 days for beam
and lintel bottom. In case of exposed concrete form work as recommended by the architect or form
work from good quality plywood shall be used. Loft of any thickness shall be provided as shown in
the RCC design and drawing. Reinforcement steel shall be provided as shown in the design and
drawing and the same shall be got approved from the executive engineer. Care shall be
taken during concreting so that the concrete can be placed all around the reinforcement and
proper compaction shall be carried out using vibrator.
The concrete thus cast shall be watered at lWest 3 times a day to keep it wet all throughout the day
and shall be cured for 28 days otherwise the contractor shall be penalized. The surface
continuously exposed to the sun shall be provided with cement plaster and white wash or color
wash in 3 coats. Cube testing shall be done as per IS specifications and one copy of the testing
certificate shall be submitted to VMC, PMC, TPI each.
Applicable provisions of Conditions of Contract shall govern work under this section. All concrete work,
plain or reinforced shall be carried out strictly with this specification and any working drawing or
instructions given from time to time to the Contractor. The Contractor's rates shall allow for wastage
in all materials as well as for all tests of materials and for concrete.No concrete shall be cast in the
absence of the Executive Engineer's representative or any other person duly authorized by him. The
Contractor's Engineer shall personally check that both the formwork and reinforcement have been
correctly placed and fixed, and shall satisfy himself that all working preparatory to the casting is
completely ready, before calling the Executive Engineer's representative for final inspection and
approval for which purpose at lWest 24 hours notice shall be given by the Contractor.
The Indian Standards wherever referred to herein shall be the latest edition of such standards.
Cement shall confirm to IS : 269 Cement Tests shall have to be carried out at Contractor's
expense as and when directed.
The fine and coarse aggregates shall confirm IS : 383 and shall meet prior approval of the Executive
Engineer [SWD ].
The Tor steel reinforcement shall conform to relevant IS .
The reinforcement shall be bend to the shapes shown on the drawings prior to placing and all bars must
be bend bold. The steel shall be placed in such a way that, it is rigidly held in position while concrete
is being cast. The correct clearance from the form shall be maintained by either precast
mortar blocks or by metal supporting chairs to be supplied by the contractor free of cost. The
intersections of rods crossing each another shall bound together with soft pliable wire No. 16 S.W.G.
at frequent intervals so that reinforcement will not be displaced in the process of depositing concrete.
The loops of binding
wire should be tightened by pliers.
Concrete Proportioning:
The concrete proportion shall be as indicated on the approved drawings and shall confirm to IS :
456.The minimum cover to main reinforcement shall be 25mm or the diameter of the bar whichever
is greater, or as specified in the drawings. In case of surfaces exposed to corrosive action of sewage
as in sumps, the cover shall be increased up to 55mm as directed. Type of joints, spacing of joints,
use of all jointing materials and other features pertaining to the provision of movement joints in
liquid retaining structures shall be got approved prior to the commencement of construction. All
reinforced concrete work shall be thoroughly and efficiently vibrated during laying by use of vibrators.
For liquid retaining structures, whose external surfaces are exposed, the same shall be deemed to
be satisfactorily watertight if the external faces show no signs of leakage and remain apparently dry
over the period of observation of 7 days. After allowing a period of 7 days, for absorption after filling,
Covered tank where all faces are not accessible for inspection, shall be kept filled with water for
days and thereafter, the drop of water over the next 7 days shall not exceed totally a depth of
12.5mm. Approved corrective measures, if necessary, shall be undertaken by the Contractor
at his own expense.
All concreting work shall be carried out according to the IS:456, Indian Standard Code of Practice for
Plain and Reinforced Concrete for General Building construction. It should, however, be noted that
for over 20 cum of concrete placed or for every one day's work a minimum of 6[Six] cubes shall be
cast for test purposes and tested at the contractor's expense in an approved laboratory.
The form work shall conform to IS:456.
The Concrete shall be cured according to IS:456 or as directed.
Concrete Finish
The Concrete surface on removal of form work shall be such that no finishing is necessary, if however,
the surface is not satisfactory, the contractor shall, if so instructed, remove unwanted projecting parts
by chipping and smoothen the surface with cement rendering at his own expense.
Construction Joints
These shall be in accordance with IS:456 or as shown on the approved drawings. The centering for
forming, the construction joint shall be firmly fixed and adequately slotted for reinforcement
extending beyond the joint. If any concrete flows past this stop, it shall be backed off as soon as the
concrete has set. Care shall be taken not to disturb the reinforcing steel in casting the second half of
a member with a construction joint and thereby crack the concrete previously placed.
The joint shall be of the 'rebated' or 'keyed' type, inclined 'feather' or 'straight joint' shall not be
permitted. The joints/ Water Stops shall be got approved by the Engineer-in-charge before their
placement in to the structure. Water stop as per requirement shall be provided. Supply of 180mm
size Dum Belled type PVC water shall be separate item and shall be paid running meter length
Expansion Joints
Expansion joints shall be provided at positions shown in the approved drawing or as directed and shall
comply strictly with the details shown on construction drawings. Reinforcement shall not extend across
any expansion joint and the break between the two sections MUST be complete. Unless otherwise
specified, the gap shall be filled with an elastic joint consisting of the following ingredients ( by weight ),
pre heated to a temperature of 190ºC ( 375ºF ).

b) Hot Bitumen Emulsion - 33%
c) Cement - 7.5%
d) Fine Chipped Hemp - 2%
Contractor's Supervision
The contractor shall provide constant and strict supervision of all the items of construction during progress
of work, including the proportioning and mixing of the concrete and bending and placing of
reinforcement. Before any important operation such as concrete or striping of form work has begun,
adequate notice shall be given.

Demolition of brick work and stone masonry including stacking of serviceble materials and disposal
of unserviceble materials with all lead and lift (ii) In cement mortar.
Casting in situ cement concrete curbing M-20 grade
This work shall consists of constructing cement concrete curb on the road in conformity with
the lines,levels and dimensions as specified in the drawings.
Kerb shall be provided in cement concrete of Grade M-200. these shall be cast in situ
construction with suitable kerb casting machine in all situations except at locations where
contionous casting with equipment is not practicable. In those situations, precast concrete
blocks shall be used.
Construction operations:-
Kerb shall be laid on firm foundations of minimum 150mm thk of cement concrete of M200
grade cast in situ or on extended width of pavement.
The foundatiom shall have a projection of 50 mm beyond the kerb stone.before laying the
foundation of lean concrete the base shall be leveled and slihhtely watered to make it damp. In
the medium portions in the straight reaches the kerb shall be cast in continous lengths. In the
portions where foothpath is provided and or the slope of he carriageway is towards median (as
in case of super elevated portions) there shall be sufficient gap/recess left in the kerb to
facilites drainge openings.
After laying the kerb and just prior to hardening of the concrete, saw cut grooves shall be
provided at 5 m intervals or as specified by the Engineer. Kerb on the drainge ends such as
along the foothpath or the median in super elevated portions, shall be cast with monolithic
concrete as indicated in drawings. Th eslope of the chanel towards drainge pipe shall be
ensured for sufficient driange of the road surface. Vertical and hz to learn with respect to true
line and level shall be 1:6 mm.
Measurment for payment
Cement concrete kerb shall be measured in cubic meter for the complete item of work.
Foundation of central verge, where separately provided shall be measured in cubic meter for
completion of work.
The contract unit rates for cement concrete kerb and foundations for kerb shall be payment in
full compensation for furnishing all materials labour, tools,equipments for construction and
other incidental cost necessary to complete the work.
Aggregates used for concrete shall consist of naturally occurring stones (crushed or
uncrushed) and sand.
Providing and fixing pre-cast Rubber Dye / steel Dye inter locking concrete block 60mm thick with
grade of concrete M300 pnumatic compressed / vibrated mechanically and as per approved design
Confirming to IS 15658 : 2006 including 35 mm Sand layer for levelling and filling the joint with sand
in proper line and level as per guidlines of IRC : SP 63-2018 etc. Complete.
18.11. White washing with lime on undedorated wall surfaces (two coats) to
give an even shade including throughly brooming surface to remove all dirt,
dust, mortar drops and other foreign matter.
1.1.The clcarcolle shall be made from glue and boiling water by Mixing I kg.
mixture shall be suitably tinted where required use under coloured distemper if
directed. Glue shall conform to I.S. 852-1969 (Specifications for animal glue).
1.2 Lime used shall be freshly burnt class ‘C’ Lime (fat lime) and white in
colour conforming to I.S. 712-1973/ Water shall conform to M-l Best quality
of gum shall be used in the preparation of white wash. Ultramarine blue or
Indigo: This shall conform to I.S. 55-1970 for points, and shall be used for
preparation of white wash. Pigments : Mineral colours, not affected by lime
shall be used in preparing colour wash.
2.0. Workmanship :
2.1. Preparation of white wash solution :
Surface already white or colour. The fat lime shall be slaked at site and shall
be mixed and stirred with about five litres of water for 1 kg. of unslaked lime
to make a thin cream. This shall be allowed to stand for a period of 24 hours
and then shall be screened through a clean coarse cloth, 4 Kg. of gum
dissolved in hot water shall be added to each cubic metre of lime cream.
Small quantity of ultramarine blut (Upto 3 gms. per kg. of lime) shall also be
added to the last two coats of white wash solution and the whole solution shall
be stirred throughly before use.
2.1. Preparation of surface:
2.2.1.The surface shall be throughly cleaned of all dust, dirt, mortar croppings
and other foreign matter before .white wash is to be applied.
2.2.2.The surface spoiled by smoke soot shall be scraped with steel wire
brushes or steel scrapers or shall be rubbed with over-burnt surkhi or brick
bats. The surface shall be then broomed to remove all dust, dirt and shall be
washed with clean water.
2.1.3.Oil or grease spots shall be removed by suitable chemical and smooth
surface shall be rubbed with wire brushes.
2.2.4. All unsound portion of the surface plaster shall be removed to full depth
of plaster in rectangular patches and plastered again after raking the masonry
joints properly. Such portion shall be wetted and allowed to dry. They shall
then be given one cat of white wash.
2.2.5.All unnecessary nails shall be removed, the holes cracks patches etc.

2.3. Scaffolding : Wherever scaffolding is necessary it shall be erected in
such a way that as far as possible on part of scaffolding shall rest against the
surface to be white or colour washed. A properly secured strong and well
tied suspended platform (Zoola) may be used for white washing. Where
ladders arc used, pieces of old gunny bag shall be teid at top andand bottom to
prevent scratches to the floors and walls. For white washing of ceilings proper
stage scaffolding shall be erected where necessary.
2.4. Application of white wash:
2.4.1 On the surface prepared the white wash shall be applied with ‘Moon’
brush. The first stoke of the brush shall be from top downwards another,
from bottom upwards over the first stroke and similary one stoke from the right
another from the left, over the first stroke brush before it dries. This will
from one coat. Each coat shall be allowed to dry before next coat applied.
Number of coats as specified in item shall be applied.
It shall present smooth and uniform finish free from brush marks and it
should not come off easily when rubbed with finger.
2.4.2. Splashing and dropping if any on the doors and windows, ventilators
etc. shall be removed and the surface cleaned.
2.4.3. Priming and Alkali resistant treatments, scraping of surface washing
etc. surface spoiled by smoke soot removed of oil and great spots treatment
for infection with effloresence moulds moss, funji, algae and letchen and
patch repairs to plaster wherever done shall not be paid extra.
3.0. Mode of measurements & payment :
3.1. All the work shall be measured in the decimal system as under :
(a) Dimensions shall be measured to the nearest 0.01 M.
(b) Area in individual items shall be worked out to the nearest 0.01 Sq. M.
All the work shall be measured in sq. mt. Deductions for jambs, soffits, sills
etc. for opening not exceeding 0.5 sq. mt. each in area for ends of joints,
posts, beams, girders, steps etc. not exceeding 0.5 sq. mt. each in area and for
opening exceeding 0.3 sq. mt. and not exceeding 3.0 sq. mt. each in area
deductions and additions shall be made as under :
3.2. No deductions shall be made for ends of joints beams, posts etc. and
openings not exceeding 0.5. sq. mt. each. No addition
shall be made for reveals, jambs, soffits, sills etc. of these openings nor
for finish arounds ends of joints, beams, posts etc.
3.3. Deductions for openings exceeding 0.5 sq. mt. but not exceeding 3 sq. mt.
each shall be made as follows and no addition shall be made for reveals,
jambs, soffits etc. of these openings:
(a) When both the faces or walls are provided with finish, deduction shall be
made for one face only.
(b) When each fasce of wall is provided with different finish deduction shall
be made for that side of frame for door, windows etc. on which width of
reveals is less than that of the other side, where width of reveals on
both faces of wall are equal,deduction of 50% of area of opening on
each face shall be made from total area of finish.
(c) When only one face of wall is treated and the other face is not treated,
full deduction shall be made if the width of revealon the treated side is
less than that on the untreated side, but if the width of the reveal is equal
or more than on the untreated
side neither deductions nor additions be made for reveals, jambs, soffits,
3.4. In case of area of opening exceeding 3 sq. mt. each, deduction shall be
made for openings but jambs, soffits, shall bemeasured.
3.5. No deduction shall be made for attachment such as casing, conducts,
pipe, electric wiring and the like.
3.6. Corrugated surfaces shall be measured flat as fixed and not girth. The
quantities so measured shall be increased by the following percentage and
the resultant shall be included with the general areas.
(a) Corrugated steel sheets 14%
(b) Corrugated A. C. Sheets20%
(c) semi corrugated A. C. Sheets 10%
(d) Nainital pattern roof (Plain

3.7.Cornices and other wall features, when they are not picked out in a
different finish/colour shall be girthed and included
in the general area
3.8.The rate shall include the cost of all materials, labour, scaffolding,
protective measures etc. involved in all the operations described above.
3.9.The rate shall be for a unit of one sq. metre.
Applying priming coat over new steel and other metel surface after and including preparing the surface
by throughly cleaning, oil,grease, dirt and other foreign matter and scoured with brushes fine steel
wood, scrapers and sand paper with ready mixed priming paint brushing red lead..
19.7. Painting two coats (excluding priming coat) on new steel and other metal
surfaces with enamel paint, brushing, interior to give an even shade including
cleaning the surface of all dirt, dust and other foreign matter.
1.0. Materials : The enamel paint shall conform to M-44 B.
2.0 Workmanship :
2.1.1. The materials required for work of painting work shall be obtained
directly from approved manufacturers or approved dealer and brought to the
site in maker’s drums, kege etc. with seal unbroken.
2 1.2. All materials not in actual use, shall be kept properly protected, lids of
containers shall be kept closed and surface of paint in open or partially open
containers covered with a thin layer of turpentine to prevent formation of skin.
The materials which have become stale or flat due to improper and long
storage shall not be used. The paint shall be stirred thoroughly in its container
before pouring into small containers. While applying also the paint shall be
continuously stirred in smaller container. No left over paint shall be put back
into stock tins. When not in use, the containers shall be kept properly closed.
2.1.3.If for any seasons, thinning is necessary, the brand of thinner
recommended by the manufacturer shall be used.
2.1.4.The surface to be painted shall be thoroughly cleaned am.’ dusted. All
rust, dirt and grease shall be thoroughly removedbefore painting is started. No
painting on exterior or other exposed parts of the work shall be carried out in
wet, damp or otherwise unfavourable weather and all the surfaces shall be
thoroughly dry before painting work is started.
2.2. Application:
2.2.1.Brushing operations arc to be adjusted to the spreading capacity advised
by the manufacture of particular paint. Thepaint shall be applied evenly and
smoothly by means of crossing and laying off. The crossing and laying off
consists ofcovering the area over with paint, brushing the surface hard for the
first lime over and then brushing alternately in opposite directions two or three
times and then finally brushing lightly in direction at right angles to the same.
In this process, no brushmarks shall be left after the laying off is finished. The
full process of crossing and laying off will constitute one coat.
2.2.2.Each coat shall be allowed to dry completely and lightly rubbed with
very fine grade of sand paper and loose particlesbrushed off before next coat is
applied. Each coat shall vary slightly in shade and shall be got approved from
Engineer-in-charge before next coat is started.
2.2.3.Each coat except the last cost shall be lightly rubbed down with sand
paper of fine pumice stone and cleaned of dust before the next coat is applied.
No hair marks from the brush or clogging of paint puddles in the corners of
panels angles ofmouldings etc. shall be left on the work.
2.2.4.Special care shall be taken while painting over
bolts, nuts, rivets, overlaps etc. Approved best quality
brushes shall be used.
3.0.Mode of measurements & payment:
3.1.The relevant specifications of item No. 19.12 shall be followed for mode
of measurements and payment. The rate is excluding priming coat.
3.2.The rate shall be for a unit of one sq. metre.

Paving work of Paverblock work in East Zones _______________________________as
specified in the tender by the Vadodara municipal corporation andWhere as the said
__________Bank to provide a PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE bond to the VMC for the work
Where as we, the _____________________Bank have agreed to provide such PERFORMANCE
GUARANTEE bond.
Now THEREFORE we the _____________________________Bank provide the following
Performance Bank Guarantee by way of this bond to the VMC.
1. The contract value of the contract prbvided M/S.____________________by the VMC is
Rs.___________________ This guarantee in the nature of PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE is
provided so as be ensure and indemnify the VMC for the full and proper performance of the contract

paver blok in the said complex are the part & pacel of the tender. we shall indentify and pay the VMC
such expenses, losses and damages that may be incurred by the VMC , as a result of the VMC getting
the work done itself or from other source.
2. WE ____________________Bank agree and undrestand that the decision as to whether any
losses or damages to the footpath /service track at the said site also are the part & pacel of the
tender have taken place or not and or whether the work suffers from poor workmanship or not will be
taken by the commissioner of VMC and on the Commissioner's decision regarding such losses or
damage or defect whatsoever being so notified by the VMC to us. We shall immediately take steps
and ensure that M/S __________________________ faithfully and diligently carry out the necessary
remedial steps to the full satisfaction of the commissioner of VMC . The opinion of the Commissioner
as to whether full and complete remedial steps, to the full satisfaction of the Commissioner of VMC
has been taken or not will be that the Commissioner of VMC For the purpose of arriving at such
decision as aforesaid, it will be open to the Commissioner of VMC to - take assistance of such
technical people as may be available and it will be also open to the Commissioner of VMC in case he
so desires, to delegate this power to a subordinate, like the Additional City Engineer, to take
appropriate decisions and the decisions referred to above will be deemed to be properly taken and as
if taken by the Commissioner of VMC. In the eventuality of M/S. ______________ not taking remedial
action to the atmost satisfaction of the Commissioner of VMC the VMC, will be entitled to get the work
done itself or from other sources. On the Commissioner of VMC notifying to us the total expenses
incurred for the purpose we hereby expressly undertake the pay to VMC the- said amount forthewith
and in any case not later tha 7 days from such itimation. We shall accept as final and binding the
amount indicated by the Commissioner of VMC and our obligation to pay such amount will be a
continuing obligation irrespective of any dispute or difference that may arise between us and M/S.

4. We agree and undertake that this PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE will be valid for a period of
years from the date issuance of completion certificate to M/S. _____________________or The
commissioner of VMC will notify such completion date to us. In case no such completion date is
notified, this PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE will be valid for 1 years from the date of execution of
this document. This PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE will come into effect from such completion date.
In case however, the contract consist of several parts it will be open to the Commissioner to indicate
separate completion dates for separate parts, and to simultaneously indicate a break up of the
contract value equivalent to the separate parts in, which case the PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE to
the extent of the different contract values will come into operation on such different completions date.
It is expressly understood on that in considering this period of 1 years, the date by which the
Corporation intimates the Bank about the losses, damages or problem as the case may be, shall be
considered and as long as such intimation is within a period of 1years from the completion date, we
the _______________Bank will be liable irrespective of whether the remedial actions or lack there of
has taken place after the period of 1 years.
5. We ______________Bank agree that the PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE
Which is a continuing guarantee, will be binding and enforeceable against us irrespective of any
difference or dispute between VMC and M/S. _________________ or between us and
____________and irrespective of any change or variation or extension of
time or any for bearance or waiver made or granted by VMC to M/S.
6. In case any disputes arises as to the interpretation or implementation of this PERFORMANCE
GUARANTEE THE MATTER shall be referred to the sole arbitration of the commissioner of VMC,
whose decision in the matter will be final. In case any recourse to any court .of law is necessitated.
the appropriate Civil Court at Vadodara alone will have jurisdiction Vadodara.
