FLOOR TREATMENT IN TRANSFORMER HALL BHEP-II BY WAY OF DUST PROOF EPOXY PAINT

Providing and applying a minimum of 3mm thick hard wearing epoxy coat i.e industrial flooring on transformer and other allied areas in the Power House BHEP- II. The application of industrial flooring should be done according to standard procedures which involves prepration of concrete surfaces through grinding. The concrete must be clean , dry and free of any oil or grease. A moisture test should be conducted to rule out rising dampness. Groove cutting and filling should be done properly . A two component epoxy should be applied on the prepared surface .After that screed should be applid for protection of coating and finally self levelling epoxy top floor . The bidder should consider following conditions : A) Floor Paint to be applied should conform to technical specifications as described in annexue A of the tender document. Any bidder who fails to adhere to the technical specifications shall be outrightly rejected . B) Floor Paint should have decorative as well as antistatic properties. C) The floor area in the Power House is often subjected to oil spillage so floor coating to be applied should be oil resistant and slip resistant. D) The Floor is subjected to heavy footfalls as well as vehicular movement which should be kept in consideration. Type :- Hard wearing Epoxy, Impact resistant resin Thickness :- Minimum 3mm. Fire Resistance :- BS476 : Part 7 Surface spread of Flame: Class 2 (indicative) Slip Resistance Value (SRV) :- Method described in BS 7976-2 Dry 67 (typical values for 4-S Rubber slider) Thermal Resistance :- Tolerant up to 60 Deg C Water Permeability :- Nil -Karsten test (impermeable) Vapour Permeability :- 4 gms /m2 /mm /24 hours Abrasion Resistance :- Taber Abrader: 90 mg loss per 1000 cycles(1 kg load using CS17 wheels) Compressive Strength :- 60 N/mm2 (BS6319) Flexural Strength :- 40 N/mm2 (BS6319) Tensile Strength :- 25 N/mm2 (BS6319) Bond Strength :- Greater than cohesive strength of 25 N/mm2 concrete. >1.5 MPa.
