1. Determination of safe bearing capapcity by SPT method as described:- (a) Boring throughsand/clay/soft strata from ground level to 8 mtr depth or upto refusal (N>50), wherever is meet earlier. (b) Conducting standard penetration test in the bore as per IS 2131-1985 including collection of disturbed samples at every 0.50 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete and collecting undisturbed soil samples at 1.0 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete as per IS 23-985. (C) Carrying out laboratory test for :- (i) Specifica gravity, bulk and dry density (ii) Grain size analysis (iii) Natural moisture content (iv) Liquid and plastic limits, swelling index (v) Shed characteristics of undisturbed samples using direct shear/triaxial shear test. (vi) Unconfined compression test. (vii) Consolidation test for consolidation properties. (viii) Chemical test for availability of soluable chloride and sulphate. (d) Subsurface investigation report to include clearly following parameters :- (i) Layout of trail pits & bore holes on proposed site plan (ii) Record of boring as per Appx "D' of IS-1892
(iii) Soil/Rock properties as per detailed explorations (Table 3 of IS -1892 and sub para VI above). (iv) Soil properties based on above field test. (v) Evaluation of safe bearing capacity based on shear failure creteria (Ref IS-904-986). (IS- 8009 Part I & II). Allowable bearing capacity at various depths of 1.5Mtr, 2.0 Mtr and 3.0 mtr or as required below GL is to be given the suggestion for economical width and type of foundation the report shall include detailed calculations for SBC. In case of few bearing capacity calculations SBC & settlement calculations for raft foundations also. (vi) Recommendations for pile with pile capacity in case of weaker strata is encountered. (vii) Other releveant recommendations for foundation and improvement of soil necessary. (e) Testing method shall be strictly in accordance to relevant IS code. (f) Soil investigation report, mobilization of equipment and manpower to project site and submission of report 04 copies in CD and hard copy.
