NOTES/INSTRUCTIONS FOR STRICT COMPLIANCE (a) The contractor shall obtain sample approval for all materials for incorporating in the work as per condition 10 of IAFW-2249 and Para-12 of Special Conditions of tender document mentioned here-in-after. (b) The GE may direct the contractor in writing to procure and deposit up to 80% of the material required for the complete scope of work. The decision shall be final and binding on the contractor. (c) The contractor shall deposit the procured material under intimation to GE to the store of concerned subdivision within 30 days from the receipt of written direction. Failure to do so shall result in a penal recovery of Rs 2000/- per week, levied on the dues of contractor, maximum up to 10% of the work done/CA Amount whichever is higher. (d)The contractor shall obtain approval of “Qualified Tradesman” as per condition 26 of IAFW-2249 before commencement of work at site and shall have sufficient manpower such as plumber, welder, helper etc readily available to meet the site requirement during emergency situation as per directions of Engineer-in-Charge/GE

NOTES(Contd---) (e)The breakdown/Leakeges should be attended well within time mentioned here-in-after from the time of intimation (through Verbal/Site Order/Written) by the Engineer-in-Charge/GE, failing which a penal recovery of Rs 500/- per hour shall be deducted from contractors dues: Size of Pipe Time limit to attend Breakdown & Completion Upto 50mm 6 Hrs 50mm-100mm 8 Hrs More than 100mm 12 Hrs (f) The quoted rates shall be inclusive of cost of necessary Tools, Plants, Safety Equipments, Machinery, Arrangements of Manual Dewatering/Dewatering pumps and Temporary lighting arrangements for work during night time etc as per site requirement. (g) The quoted rates shall be inclusive of cost for necessary scaffolding for working upto 9th floor level of multi-storyed Buildings under AoR of GE (U-II).

Dismantling or removing of centrifugal coupled / Monoblock electric pump set of any make and model, of capacity 100 HP to 120 HP from its installed position by disconnecting suction and delivery lines, fixing dummy plate to both suction & delivery pipe, disconnecting electrical cables, earth strips and dismounting the pump and motor from base channel for overhauling / repair / rewinding of motor etc and reinstalling back in its original position, checking alignment and testing on completion for satisfactory performance complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Overhauling, re-winding and spare parts required for repair shall be measured and paid separately under relevant items of BOQ. However, quoted rate is deemed to be inclusive of cost of transportation to and fro civil work shop.

Material and Labour for servicing of Diesel Engine of fire pump of capacity 120 HP of any make / model by carrying out the following maintenance as per manufacturers instructions including cleaning the engine, pump, completely by blowering and with cotton waste and testing on completion for entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge and complete all as specified and directed:- (a) Draining out engine oil from the sump by removing drain plug, cleaning the sump thoroughly and refilling the sump with new engine oil to required level (Note: Engine Oil will be measured and paid separately as 'Supply Only'). (b) Draining out of diesel from tank and storing in cleaned containers, cleaning the tank thoroughly by removing sediments settled at the bottom and refilling the drained out diesel duly filtered. (c) Supply and replace complete set of engine oil filters, fuel filters, Bypass filter, air cleaner element and water separator. (d) Draining out complete coolant water mixture from the radiator and re-filling the radiator with new coolant and water mixture with proportionate ratio (Note: Coolant will be measured and paid separately as 'Supply Only'). (e) Check and top up the electrolyte/distilled water in starting batteries to maintain the required specific gravity. Cleaning of battery terminals & applying petroleum jelly to battery poles & brass connectors. (f) Checking and Tightening all the fasteners of complete engine to the required torque, if required.

Dismantling the defective self starter assembly 12V/24V carefully from the fire pump diesel engine and carryout repair and servicing by cleaning all accessories with suitable cleaning agent and supply and replace commutator, carbon brush set, carbon brush holder, king pin holder, armature choke nut, body screens, clutch plate assembly and solenoid etc, re-assembling and re-fixing the same and testing on completion for Fire pump diesel engine of capacity 60 HP to 120 HP complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Supply and replace battery 12V, 90 AH with 24 months full replacement warrantee for DG set including initial filling & charging complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour for preparation of old painted surfaces of fire fighting pump sets of capacity 100 HP to 120 HP and painting to electric pump and motor / fire diesel engine set and base frame with two coats of synthetic enamel spray paint of approved colour as per standard MES colour coding complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour for Supply, installation and testing of LED flex Glow Sign Board for frontlit office / installation boards prints stretched on a metal frame, where the sun or the ambient light lends visibility to the board complete comprising of the following components with below given detailed specifications including taking down of existing unserviceable office / installation sign board of any description:- (i) Metal Frame / Box: The base structure of board should be made of a metal frame in the form of a box of 6 – 8 inches deep and the width and the height and shape of the frame are as per site requirement and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge by using 0.5 – 0.75 inch thick, metal pipes to fabricate the box. (Item No 123.00 Contd--) (v) Printed Star Flex: The office / installation board design / art work shall be as per sample given by GE / Engineer-in-Charge printed on a specialised media known as Backlit Star Flex 350 GSM with UV ink prints / Eco Solvent ink prints layered in a double strike. This print should has the following characteristics:- Flex is a printable roll of plastic with a cloth like weave on the back. The front surface should specially coated to receive inkjet inks. Print should be waterproof, scratch-resistant and fade-resistant. The denier or the weave on the back lends strength to the print. The weave and printable top layer of backlit flex should be translucent. It should allow light to pass through and when this happens, the print on top gets a very beautiful glow. ‘Star’ is a premium brand of flex. Prints on Star flex have a very high resolution extremely vibrant colours. Note: (a) The size, dimensions and shape of varying dimensions shall be as per site requirement and as specified and directed by GE / Engineer-in-Charge. (b) The measurement of the completed board shall be measured in square feet on the front face only and hence the quoted rate shall deemed to be included for the depth of the board i.e. 6 to 8 inches. Material and labour for sun boards or foam boards for offices / installations made of 3mm-thick foam with a smooth matte printing surface in customisable design templates in any size and shape and printing the details as provided by Engineer-in-Charge as per his directions. The printing shall be done using digital technology that should give the sun board a sharp and professional look. The Vinyl sun boards should have a stiff property with good protection against direct sunlight to avoid colour fading & cracking, resulting in good shelf life, complete all as specified and as directed. Note: (a) The quoted rate shall deemed to be inclusive of transportation to site and fixing with suitable fixing accessories complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. (b) The measurement of the completed board shall be measured in square feet. (c) Quoted rate shall be inclusive of custom printing charges. (d) Quoted rate shall deemed to be inclusive of dismantling and taking down of existing unserviceable sign boards of any description.

Technician services for attending electrical complaints of Starter Panel / LT Panel/ Motor complaints, checking fault in bus bars/ control wiring / starter, cables, lugs etc and rectifying the fault by replacing defective spare parts by deploying technician / electrician etc as per site requirement during any time on any day/night including Sunday and Holiday complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Cost of minor spare parts and consumables costing up to Rs. 500 each shall deemed to be included in the quoted rate. Contractor should arrange the technician within 02 hours of intimation of complaint by JE E/M / Engineer-in-Charge and the complaint should be rectified as soon as possible but not later than 08 hours from the time of intimation. If contractor fails to arrange the technician and rectify the complaint within the specified time, a penal recovery of Rs. 500 per hour of delay beyond the specified time limit will be made from contractor's dues.
