GENERAL NOTE: 1) Debris generated from this work shall be disposed off by the contractor outside departmental premises by mechanical transport etc. without any extra cost to the department and/or as instructed by Engineer-In-charge. During execution of work Contractor should maintain proper safety measures and provide proper insurance coverage to all work men to be engaged in this work. Contractor should quote rates accordingly. 2) Bidders must visit the site before submission of tender. 3) Above mentioned work will be executed at Bidhannagar campus of VECC. Bidders are requested to quote rates accordingly. 4) Rate of each item shall include the cost of manpower, materials, tools & tackles, scaffolding etc. at all level. 5) Contractor has to be very careful so that no nuisance is created or users are not disturbed during execution of the work. Labours engaged should be well behaved/good mannered. 6) Security regulation and rules of DAE shall be strictly followed during deployment of materials and work force. The work should be done satisfying all safety aspects and insurance coverage, ESI for all workers to be involved in this job is a mandatory requirement and contractor should quote rates accordingly. PPE’S such as safety shoe, helmet with chin strap, safety belts, safety goggles, safety shoes, welding shields, gloves, vici wear etc. are compulsory for all workers. Safety nets is to be provided during execution of work. 7) Copies of challan for the materials brought inside campus shall be submitted for reference & record of the department. 8) Time schedule as mentioned in NIT shall be strictly adhered to. The work should be carried out even on extended time period if required and for that special permission has to be obtained from competent authority. 9) Rate shall include cost for providing temporary access upto the location of the work till the work is over. 10) Elevation of the roof is approx. 20M from the existing ground level. Contractor should quote rates accordingly.

Dismantling & demolishing brick work / plain cement concrete/ reinforced cement concrete including cutting of rods, stacking of serviceable materials by chiseling at all level and location including scaffolding, disposal of unserviceable materials outside premises etc. all complete as per specification and as directed.

In brick work with or without plaster.

In Plain Cement Concrete 1:3:6 / 1:2:4 including mosaic at window sill, mosaic tiles at flooring and/or skirting.

In Reinforced cement concrete 1:2:4 / 1:1 ½ :3 along with finishes (viz. mosaic floor/tiles etc.)

Providing and laying plain cement concrete at all level, location, using graded stone aggregate 20mm maximum size including mixing, conveying, placing, consolidation, finishing, dewatering if necessary, curing, necessary scaffolding, form work, etc. all complete as per drawing and as directed.

Plain Cement Concrete (1:2:4)

Providing and laying Cement Concrete in the grade as per following sub items at all level, location, conforming to IS 456-2000 using graded stone aggregate 20mm maximum size including machine mixing, conveying, placing, mechanical consolidation, finishing, dewatering if necessary curing, scaffolding etc. complete as per drawing and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Reinforced Cement Concrete in the grade 1:1.5:3 (1 Cement: 1.5 Sand: 3 Stone aggregate) N.B.: a) Chipping /hacking etc. of existing surface to be done properly before RCC of existing surface. b) Bonding coat to be applied e.g. LATEX etc. between old & new concrete concreting which will be added in the rate during quoting.

Brick work in cement mortar 1:4 at all level using well burnt bricks of class 7.5 & above as per IS 1077:1992; 125mm thick, correct line level, plumb scaffolding (if any), curing, racking out joint, pointing etc. complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Brick work in cement mortar 1:4 at all level using well burnt bricks of class 7.5 & above as per IS 1077:1992; 250mm thick, correct line level, plumb scaffolding (if any), curing, racking out joint, pointing etc. complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing labours, tools, tackles etc. for cutting chase (upto 125 x 150 mm.) and subsequent mending of damages including thorough surface preparation filling up of dents, cracks etc. all complete at any height and level, location including providing necessary scaffolding etc. all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

In brick wall (Cement-3.6 Kg/Mtr)

Providing, erecting, fixing in position, striking / removing and cleaning steel / timber shuttering & centering for form work / making pockets for foundation bolts at all foundation level & locations as mentioned for all geometrical shapes and designs as per drawings including rails bracings, props, brackets, cutting holes for pipes etc. providing & applying approved form oil on all surfaces of form work coming in contact with concrete including close hacking of all exposed concrete work after removal of form work, all materials, labour etc. complete as per specifications, drawings & as directed by the EIC. (Area of form work in contact with concrete shall only be measured for payment & stop boards for construction joints etc. will not be measured for payment)

Providing cement plastering on external/internal surfaces at all level and location with cement mortar (1:4) final rendering, finished smooth over masonary/concrete surface including hacking of concrete surface, curing, scaffolding etc. square cutting, dismantling of old damaged plaster, cleaning, disposal etc. as per sub items below, including providing bond coat made with cement admixed with water and latex (SBR) in the ratio 1:1:3 (1 latex, 1 water, 1 cement) Note: a) For 20mm thick plaster, bond coat is to be applied twice, one before applying 1st coat and 2nd one before applying final coat. b) For 15mm thick plaster only one bond coat before applying plaster is to be provided.

On external surface: 20mm thick in 2 coats over exterior surface at all height, level, location with base coat in cement mortar 1:4, 12mm thick and finishing coat in cement mortar 1:4, 8mm thick over masonry/concrete surface, including using water proofing agent conforming IS 2645-2007 @ 2% by weight of cement or as recommended by the manufacturer for the back coat and using Recron 3S of M/s. Reliance @125 gm pouch per 50Kg bag of cement for final coat or other approved equivalent make and/or as per manufacturer’s recommendation for finishing coat etc. all complete.

Painting on old painted / plastered exterior wall surfaces with two or more coats of exterior Acrylic Emulsion paint ‘Weather shield Max’ under brand Akzonobel or other approved equivalent protective finish of approved shade including sand papering, wire brushing, curing and cleaning the surface to remove all coatings, dust etc. filling up the cracks and crevices if any with approved putty including applying a coat of compatible stabilizing solution (primer) of approved make as directed, scaffolding etc. complete as per specifications, drawings, manufacturer’s recommendations and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Painting two or more coats of Synthetic Enamel Paint of 1st quality and approved make, shade/colour on MS surface, MS/GI pipes etc. over a coat of metal red oxide zinc chromate primer, including through surface preparation by mechanical grinding, removing & cleaning of all rust, dust etc. filling up of dents, cracks with suitable putty etc. all complete at any height and level location including providing necessary scaffolding etc. all complete as directed by the EIC.

Disposing off surplus excess debris/loose sand, any kind of soil, unserviceable materials, rubbish, scrap, concrete blocks, other miscellaneous materials, rotten grass/cutting seeds,/unserviceable PVC/FRP containers etc. inside VECC campus at all level and location of VECC, Bidhannagar campus by mechanical transport to suitable dumping area as approved by statutory authority outside the campus including all lift & lead stacking of serviceable materials (specially metal items, wood, PH items etc.) at a maximum distance of 150Mtr lead etc. as directed by EIC. Notes: a) Voids @ 20% for soils and other garbage & debris shall be deducted from fully loaded truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment. b) Approval from concerned authorities is the responsibility of contractor & quoted rate shall be inclusive of all charges if any from the statutory authorities such as royalty etc.

Providing & applying 1.2 mm thick TPO/FPA (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) polyester mesh reinforced membrane under brand Masterseal 750TPE of M/s. MASTER BUILDERS SOLUTIONS / Sintofoil RT of M/s. TECHNONICOL/ Proofex ORG of M/s. FOSROC or approved equivalent produced by extrusion of granules resulting from the incorporation of ethylene propylene rubber into a polypropylene matrix together with other appropriate additives, over a 300gsm polyester based Geo Fabric membrane with minimum 100 mm overlap as separation layer between tar felt substrate and TPO/FPA membrane. The existing tar felt shall be cleaned and repaired with tar base products as per requirement depending on site condition, corner laps shall be welded properly to get sound base on which membrane shall be fixed. All sharp edges, fins and rough surfaces that could damage the membrane will be removed & cracks if any shall be cut into V groove and the same shall be sealed with cement sand mortar admix with Hydroproof Xtra of M/s. FOSROC/ Latex Power of M/s. SIKA or other approved equivalent @ 3% by weight of cement. The membrane shall have two different colours, sand grey on top and black on the underside to identify any damages that may occur during application. Membrane Laps are overlapped to achieve a minimum weld of 40mm. Laps shall be Hot air welded by hand applied using TRIAC PID or by means of automatic machines by hot wedge welders. Corner detailing shall be addressed using Fosroc Proofex OGP Internal/External corner pieces or other approved equivalent fixed with aluminium channel/angle/flats by nailing to the substrate at vertical. TPO membrane will be anchored with existing RCC surface using 10X140mm stainless steel plastic anchors of M/s. FISCHER/HILTI/WUERTH or approved equivalent with double stainless steel washers @1000mm c/c bothways. The TPO membrane will be secured with aluminium strip on vertical up stands, used in conjunction with FOSROC Nitoseal PU 40/DOWSIL 580 of M/s. DOW or approved equivalent and epoxy mortar (as per site condition) between the membrane and the substrate and termination channel under compression behind the termination bar. The termination bar must be installed directly into the wall surface and mechanically fixed using appropriate stainless steel fasteners at maximum 300mm centres. All termination should be done using automatic nailing gun at any level, location as per specification including removing and re-fixing of lightening arrester etc. as directed by EIC.

N.B.: 1) This item will be executed through approved applicator of M/s. TECHNONICOL/FOSROC/MASTER BUILDERS SOLUTION. Contractor should submit the authorization letter issued to the applicator from the manufacturer in original letter head with contact details of the concerned person. 2) MTC should be submitted to the EIC to get approval from the department. 3) The contractor shall get written approval from the EIC, for waterproofing agency is engaged and shall submit the specification of the waterproofing work before commencement of work. Inspection to be carried out by the department for approval of samples before bulk procurement. 4) Necessary tests of random sampling at site should be carried out by the contractor from NABL accredited laboratory without cost to the department. Contractor should quote rates accordingly. 5) The contractor shall furnish guarantee bond on appropriate stamp paper in standard proforma between Manufacturer with their applicator and contractor with department as per section 10(iii) Conditions and Clauses of Contract 2008 for the entire waterproofing treatment for maintaining the surroundings and under side surfaces of the waterproofing treatment in bone dry condition for 10 years. During the guarantee period the contractor shall attend all leakages, defects etc. if noticed, free of cost, starting the work of checking up and rectification within a week’s time from the date of intimation about such leakages/defects. 6) Periodic visit of technical persons from the manufacturer during execution of work to be ascertained. 7) After completion of work completion certificate from manufacturer to be submitted to the department through their authorised applicator.

Repair of damaged/corroded RCC members etc. by carefully dismantling, chiseling all loose spalled and cracked concrete and plaster till exposing a hard firm surface at any height, level, location, cleaning reinforcement steel thoroughly tying/welding new reinforcement of desired shape, inserting ends of bars in drilled holes of required size up to a minimum depth of 10(ten) times of the bar in concrete duly grouted with epoxy mortar or as directed, if found necessary de-rusting with sand/emery paper including chemical cleaning with “Rustoff-100” of M/s. Sika or equivalent, washing with water jet, applying anticorrosive polymer modified protective coating “Sika Rustop” of M/s. Sika or approved equivalent as per manufacturer’s recommendation by bard brush on exposed clean and dry reinforcement steel, allowing 24 hours time gap for drying and curing, applying a bond coat for old and new concrete bonding using latex of M/s. Sika or approved equivalent in cement slurry in the ratio 1:3 (1 Latex : 3 Water) or as directed by the department uniformly on concrete surface including steel on columns, beams, chajjas, slabs, facia etc. including leveling up with cement plaster (1:4) over a coat of cement slurry mixed with latex in water in the ratio 1:6 (1 Latex : 6 Water) or approved equivalent up to a thickness of 15 mm finished to level, plumb making drip moulds, vatas, corners etc. to match with existing at any level, location, providing all manpower, tools, materials, shuttering & centering etc. followed by proper curing etc. complete as per manufacturer’s recommendation and direction of EIC as per following sub-items:-

Laying micro concrete using Sikagrout 214 IN of M/s. Sika or Renderoc RG of M/s. Fosroc or approved equivalent in the ratio 2:1 (2 Sikagrout 214 IN or Renderoc RG : 1 Stone chips 6mm size) with heavy dash and uniformly to build concrete thickness in between 25 to 75 mm

Laying concrete 1:1.5:3 (1 Cement : 1.5 Sand : 3 Stone chips 6mm size) with heavy dash and uniformly to build concrete thickness in between 35 to 60 mm made with plasticizer cum waterproofing admixture like Sika Plastocrete Super @2% by weight of cement or equivalent

Providing and fixing double scaffolding system on the exterior side, up to seven (07) story height made with 100 mm dia bamboo 1.5 m centre to centre, horizontal & vertical bamboo joining with coir rope including working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for the required duration as approved and removing it there after. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with 75mm dia bamboo bracings, runners, connection with the building etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc. complete as per directions and approval of Engineer-in-charge. The elevational area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose. The payment will be made once irrespective of duration of scaffolding. Note:- This item to be used for maintenance work judicially, necessary deduction for scaffolding in the existing item to be done.
