Consultancy Services for Detailed inspection and RLA studies of Penstock and its appurtenant structures of Giri HEP.

Amount

(1) Carrying out Visual Inspection to determine current physical and geometric condition (ovalisation /out of roundness) of penstock. to plan more detailed assessment at later date. (2) Measurement of penstock wall thickness using non-destructive examination (NDE) methods or any other suitable method at sufficient intervals including evaluation of CS & LS joints of welding for any potential defects by NDE methods. (3) Carrying out detailed assessment of penstock appurtenant structures like ring girders/saddle supports, expansion joints manholes for any symptoms of distress etc. (4) Carrying out detailed NDT of all civil structures of penstock like anchor blocks saddle supports etc. for any symptoms of distress etc. (5) Carrying out Hydraulic Transient analysis using WHAMO or any other latest computer program of entire penstock and preparation of detailed evaluation report highlighting present condition of penstock and its appurtenant structures etc. With respect to the original drawings and suggesting any remedial measures to cope up with any problem likely to be encountered in future. This shall be done keeping in view 1) Present installed capacity of unit i.e. 30 MW and 2) Envisaged uprated capacity of unit i.e.31.50 MW (6) Carrying out residual life assessment / fatigue analysis of penstock and its appurtenant structures and suggesting any remedial measure on the basis of assessment including ascertaining of impact value by any available NDE /technique. (7) Carrying out and documenting series of load rejection / acceptance tests to set opening and closing time of wicket gates in normal operating conditions and emergency conditions with PRV (Pressure relief valve) installed in the electromechanical equipments. (8) Visual inspection of entire penstock from inside including cost of trolley system and winch along with its ancillaries, safety devices used in confined spaces. (9) Carrying out radiographic examination to evaluate interior pitting of plate / weld cracking and corrosion between the penstock shell and concrete saddles. (10) Site visit charges and other misc. Charges. Note:Consultant is required to carry out above works as per CEA, USBR, any other guidelines/Indian standards and as per directions of EIC, for dtails may refer to Terms of Reference.
