Excavation in earthwork in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soil by manual /mechnical means including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification for Rural Road, August, 2004 and clause 1603.1 and 1603.2 of General Conditions for Contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of useful material for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth riding. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.

Preparation of sub grade by dressing to camber (earth work for the cutting involved for sub grade to be paid for separately ) depending upon the classification of soil complete as per HP PWD specification and direction / satisification of Engineer in charge .

Consolidation of Sub-grade with power road roller 8/10 ( Eight oblique ten ) tonne including making good the un-dulation etc. with earth or quarry soil and re- rolling the sub-grade completed as per HP PWD specification and direction / satisification of Engineer in charge .

Providing, laying, 90 to 45mm (Ninety to Forty Five) milimetres spreading and compacting crushed stone aggregates of specific sizes to water bound macadam specification including spreading in uniform thickness, hand packing and rolling with three wheel roller 80-100 kN static roller in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and brooming, stone screening type-I to fill-up the interstices of coarse aggregate watering and compacting to the required density grading-I as per Technical Specification Clause 405 by manual means including carriage of materials within all leads and lifts and other incidentals and direction of Engineer in charge .

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting 63 to 45mm (Sixty three to Forty five) milimetres crushed stone aggregates of specific sizes to water bound macadam specification including spreading in uniform thickness hand packing and rolling with smooth three wheel roller 80-100 kN in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and brooming stone screening/binding materials to fill-up the interstices of coarse aggregate watering and compacting to the required density grading 2 as per Technical Specification Clause 405 by manual means including carriage of materials within all leads and lifts and other incidentals and direction of Engineer in charge .
