Excavation in earth work in hilly areas in all heights and depths in all kinds of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohobited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, widths, camber, super elevation and level as shown in the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specifications for Rural Road, August 2004 and clause 16.2 of general conditions for contract ot achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal dumping to be arranged by the contractor of un-suitable cut materials in specified manner, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimentions including disposal of surplus materials with all leads and lifts at the locations specified in the tender documents or as directed by the Engineer-In-Charge for smooth riding. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of execution shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.
