| 1.00General note applicable to all sections : 1) Only sieved river sand confirming to Zone-II from Godavari river or Varaha river or Vamsadhara river or Sarada river or Nagavali river / Crushed stone sand shall be used as fine aggregate and Graded hard broken granite metal of 3 stage (VSI) material shall be used as coarse aggregate in relevant items. However, the bidder should suggest any equivelent make/ model/brand meeting technical parameters on or before pre-bid conference for approval of BARC(V). 3) In view of limit on water-cement ratio for durability requirements in design mix concrete, concrete admixtures (Carboxylate based superplasticizers of approved makes as per annexure B of section VII) can be used after taking prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge and the rates quoted for concrete items shall be inclusive of the cost of admixtures, Design mix, trial mixes, testing (at site & at approved labs), etc. complete. 4) The contractor shall set up automatic batching plant/sufficient number of self loading mobile concrete mixers inside the project area for the production of concrete. | |||||||
| 2.005) Contractor may also be allowed to procure concrete from prior approved RMC plants on prior approval of the BARC subject to maintain required slump at site during pouring.To that extent suitable Mix Design should be carried out with required retention period. No extra payment will be made if concrete is brought from RMC plants outside the project area. 6) Manufacturer's Test certificate of cement which is procured from dealer/company is to be submitted for all cement related works by the contractor. 7) "Substrcture" refers to the part of structure upto top level of ground floor grade slab and "Superstructure"refers to the part of structure above the top of the ground floor grade slab. | |||||||
| 3.008) The Scope of works which are not included in any specific items but indicated in the document "General Scope of all works" shall be within the scope of overall contract works. The cost of work/item/material indicated in this document shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates of all individual items. 9) The quoted rates shall include necessary royalties, seigneiorage charges,etc. and all other charges to supply all the required construction materials. The contractor has to submit all royalty /seigneiorage slips,etc for all the naturally available construction materials before submitting the RA bills. 10) For all standards and code of practices, specifications, like Indian Standard, MORT&H, ASTM, etc. refer only latest revisions including all applicable amendments, revisions and additional publications (during contract period) and these have to be followed. 11)Prior approval for source of all construction materials by submission of relavent test certificates, documents, invoices etc. have to be taken from BARC. 12) All the tests mentioned in Quality Assurance Plan(QAP) should be carried out without any extra cost. | |||||||

Providing U3 finish for rendering smooth for mezzinine floors/other specified floors etc. with C.M. 1:2 (using Coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand) including a floating coat of neat cement including screeding, floating and applying a steel trowel finish to the surface of the concrete to the required slope and grade, and protecting the surface, subsequent cleaning of the same, repair of abrupt irregularities and gradual irregularities exceeding 6 mm, finishing joints and edges of concrete with edging tools, all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. Note: This item shall be carried out during placement of concrete for all unformed faces.
Rendering smooth mezzinine floors/other specified floors/Beams/RCC Walls/Ramps/ Platforms etc. by mechanical grinding of abrupt irregularities and gradual irregularities exceeding 6 mm, finishing joints/edges of concrete/undulated floors using C.M. 1:2 (using Coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand), closing air voids, applying neat cement finish wherever specified, subsequent cleaning of the area, complete all works as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. Providing and laying design mix reinforced cement concrete of M30 Grade by weigh batching using graded stone aggregate of 20mm max. size and coarse river sand/ crushed stone sand of approved quality including admixtures of approved quality, including handling & transportation, scaffolding, mechanical mixing, placing to required location by hoisting and / or pumping & mechanical vibration, consolidation, finishing, curing, hacking of concrete surfaces wherever required for thinner RCC structural elements etc. complete at all levels in substructure/superstructure, roads, etc as per specifications & also including dewatering, if any, complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge but excluding formwork, shuttering and steel reinforcement. Notes: 1) The minimum cement content shall be 400 Kgs per cubic metre of concrete and with water cement ratio including the water contained in the aggregates not exceeding 0.40. However, actual cement content required shall be based on design mix requirements carried out at BARC approved (NABL accredited) laboratory. In case the cement quantity consumed more than the specified above, the cost towards extra cement will not be paid. 2) Slump shall be in the range of 150mm to 180mm
General Notes for centering, shuttering & Form work: 1) This item is applicable for all PCC and RCC structural elements like footings, beams, columns, slabs, lintels, chajjas, walls,roads etc., for all heights and leads. 2) Only steel scaffolding, staging, supporting system to the formwork and steel frame work will have to be used for all RCC structural elements. 3) All surfaces adjacent to EPs, etc., shall be in true line and level & irregularities, if any, shall be rounded by mechanical grinding, chiseling, finishing the same using epoxy silica sand mortar at no extra payment. 4) The design and drawings of formwork shall be submitted alongwith calculations for approval before commencement of work. 5) Form finish F3 shall be provided to all exposed surfaces of the concrete. 6) Wall ties passing through the walls will not be allowed.

Providing and Placing in position suitable PVC water stops, Serrated with central bulb (minimum 225 mm wide) 8 mm thick confirming to IS 12200/15058 for construction / expansion joints between two RCC Members and fixed to the reinforcement with binding wire before pouring concrete, including joint welding by approved method or as recommended by manufacturer etc. all as per the specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
Providing, supplying and sealing the expansion joints 65mmx50mm wide Foam seal ( seal shall be Ethylene vinyl acetate) including application of epoxy adhesive on both sides to the lines and levels complete all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Work to be completed as per manufacturer recommendations. cost including all necessary material, work mens etc. (50 mm wide expansion joints).

General Notes for Reinforcement steel: 1) 1.2mm dia annealed GI coated binding wire required for the work will have to be supplied by the contractor at their own cost and will not be measured for payment. 2) Fe-500D / Fe-500EQR bars as per IS to be supplied by the contractor 3) Reinforcement bars from conversion agents / re-rollers of above manufacturers, will not be accepted. 4) No extra payment will be made on account of Rolling Margin & wastage. 5) Contractor shall supply copy of the documentry evidence of purchase of steel, test certificate from these manufacturers and also test from third party to be carried out at no extra cost.
Providing Reinforcement steel of all diameters for reinforced cement concrete at all levels including supplying, preparation of bar bending schedules, cutting, bending, transporting to all elevations, placing and keeping in positions, all leads, fixing, tieing with 1.2 mm dia annealed GI coated binding wire including all labour charges, cost of cover blocks (in same grade of concrete) of various thicknesses and sizes etc. all as per drawings and technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. General Notes for Structural steel : 1) Structural steel required for the work shall not be supplied by the Department. 2) Structural steel confirming to IS 2062 shall be supplied from their own plants rolled from virgin materials to be procured directly or from their authorised dealers and test cerificate to be produced. 3) The contractor shall supply documentary evidence of purchase of steel, Test certificate from manufacturers and also third party testing from approved laboratories with out any extra cost. 4) Connections, bolts and nuts shall not be measured for payment but the cost of which shall be deemed to have been included in the item rates (total weight including welding, nuts, bolts etc., of Embedded part/structure element shall be measured for payment). 5) Holes to be drilled only by Drilling machines and gas cutting of holes are not permitted. 6) Rate inclusive of all consumables like gas, welding electrodes and tools and tackles etc. 7) The Liquid Penetrant Inspection shall be carried out in 1% of the total joints and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge without any extra cost. 8) Also Refer Mechanical specifications for the MS items & SS items
Providing Structural steel work using angles, channels, joists and other sections, welded and / or bolted including in built up sections for columns, beams, trusses, structural steel floors, frame works, monorails and other structures including supplying, cutting, drilling, welding, fabricating, hoisting, fixing in position, applying a priming coat of zinc chromate steel primer etc., complete all as per drawings and Technical specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. i) Up to and including 300 mm Joists, 350 mm channels, and below sections All test reports to be provided along with the supply of the materials.

General Notes for flyash bricks: In the fly ash bricks the mix confirming to the strength mentioned in the respective items shall be got approved by the department. The mix shall consist of ordinary portland cement content of not less than 20%(preferably) of the mixture consisting of Fly ash, OPC and Gypsum or any variation in proportion of design mix shall be submitted to BARC for approval. The Anhydraous Gypsum, Fly Ash, Cement, Crusher dust and other materials shall confirm to the relevant IS codes. The Anhydrous Gypsum shall be procured from a reputed source approved by the department. Roller mixer shall be used for good homogeneous mixing. a) Reinforcement will be measured & paid for separately under relevant item. b) RCC band and formwork shall not be measured seperatly, however no deductions will be made in brickwork for the same. c) No holes in brickwall will be allowed for scaffolding. Only double tubular steel scaffolding be allowed.

Providing 20 mm thick External plastering in two coats under layer 12 mm thick with cement mortar 1:4 (using river sand) finished with a top layer 8 mm thick in cement mortar 1:3 (using river sand) admixtured with Water proofing admixture @ 2% by weight of cement used (in both layers) and as per manufacturer's specifications, sieving of sand to required fineness, double tubular steel scaffolding, finishing, curing etc. complete all as per Technical specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge. cost including forming drip moulds /vattas wherever necessary and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge
Providing and fixing in position 22 gauge G. I. Chicken wire mesh with 20 mm opening, around door & window frames, junctions of walls with concrete etc. wherever required, before plastering including cutting, nailing with 'U' nails, screwing, minimum overlapping of 150 mm, etc. all complete all as per drawings and specifications and as directed by Enginner-in-charge. (Overlaps will not be measured for payment) Width of chicken wire mesh to be fixed shall be min. 150 mm.
Providing and laying IPS cement concrete flooring 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 screened river sand/ crushed stone sand :4 aggregate of size 12 mm), 50 mm thick in panels of approved size or as shown in drawings including all leads and lifts, mixing by machine, finished smooth by using power trowell to the require level, finishing with a floating coat of neat cement including cement slurry, curing, cleaning the surface neatly at the time of handing over the area complete. Note: 1) Cost of Aluminum strip will be paid seperately under relevant item if provided 2) Cost towards Vaccum dewatering (VDF) for flooring will be paid seperately under relevent item.
Vacuum dewatering of existing freshly laid concrete of all grades/IPS/Hardonite or other specified areas of flooring as per drawing and finish with power trowel etc., complete as per technical specification and as directed by EIC.
Making of 10 mm*15 mm size grooves in the Hardonite flooring / in RCC at all levels using machine having diamond cutting wheels and filling the groove using Fosroc Colpar 200 or equivalent, as per the manufacturer specifications. The cost includes all charges for the labour, machinery, materials, tools for cleaning, primer before application of sealant, lapping tape, sealant, water, electricity etc. complete as directed by the Engineer-in -charge.
Note for Aluminium works: 1) The rate quoted shall include filling the gap between aluminium frame & adjacent RCC / Brick work / Stone work by providing weather silicon sealant over backer rod of approved quality as per architectural drawings and direction of Engineer-in-charge complete up to 5 mm depth and 5 mm width. 2) Only anodized aluminium sections, aluminum beading, aluminium sheets, aluminium fins, aluminium locks for sliding doors & aluminium handles used will be measured for payment. The rate quoted is deemed to have included the cost of all screws, gasket, weather strips, PVC lining, etc. and no seperate measurement / payment will be made for the same. 3) All aluminium frame and shutters Joints shall be of mitred joints with necessary cleats/ plates . 4) Aluminium Frames to be fixed with walls / columns with minimum 100 mm long Brass screws / Stainless steel screws and necessary hold fasts. For fixing of frames with RCC members, for Aluminium windows/louvers, doors having area of equal to 10 sq.m or above, Carbon steel zinc coated anchor fasteners shall be used. No measurement and payment shall be made for these items.
Providing and fixing Colour anodized (of 20 micron thikness) aluminium work for doors, windows, ventilators, Fins, sliding shutter locks, Alu Louvers and partitions etc. with extruded built up standard tubular sections / Z Sections and other sections confirming to IS 733 and IS 1285 fixed with rawl plugs and stainless steel screws or with fixing clips or with stainless steel expansion hold fastners including necessary filling up of gaps at junctions, at top, bottom and sides with required PVC / neoprene felt etc. Aluminium sections shall be smooth, rust free, straight, mitred and jointed mechanically where ever required including cleat angle, Aluminium snap beading for glazing / panelling, C.P brass / stainless screws all complete as per architectural drawings and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge including providing and fixing hinges / pivots and making provision for fixing of fittings wherever required including the cost of PVC / neoprene gasket required. (Weight of the Aluminium sections shall not be less than Specified in the drawings). The work shall be carried out complete as per approved shop drawing and the relavent portion of specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supplying and fixing Rolling shutters of approved size as per ISI standards made out of 18G CRC strips laths of required size interlocked together throughout entire length and jointed together at the end by end locks mounted on specially designed pipes shaft with brackets, side guides, and arrangements for inside & out side locking with Push and Pull operaion complete including the cost of providing and fixing necesssary 27.5mm wire springs grade No 2 and M.S. Top cover of required thickness for Rolling shutters. Rolling shutters gear operated type with handles including top hood 1.25mm thick, Cost including applying a priming coat of steel primer of approved ZINC CHROMATE Primer for steel surfaces and two coats of first quality anticorrosive paint, scaffolding etc. complete as per drawing, specifications,all complete as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (Wherever grill / wicket doors are provided, corresponding area of grill / wicket door area will be deducted from the measurement of solid rolling shutter area and the same will be paid seperately)
Providing and applying white cement primer to the ceilings, walls and other surfaces to give an even shade over new work (3 coats) including scaffolding, curing etc., complete as per technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note: All external/internal painting works will have to be done with erecting double tubular steel scaffolding only. All rates quoted in the above painting items shall include erection of double tubular scafolding and provision of safety measures like safety belts, eye protection gears, etc.
Providing, painting, finishing external walls with two coats of Premium Acrylic smooth exterior paint on sand face plaster / plain plaster & concrete surfaes with Silicone additives of required shade (each coat applied @ minimum 1.43 ltr / 10 sqm) over and above a base coat of water proofing cement paint to be applied @ minimum 2.20 kg / 10 sqm including preparation of the surfaces, including erection of double tubular scafolding complete all as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing, applying Textured synthetic plaster over plastered / concrete surface to the thickness specified by the manufacturer, to the pattern / design specified in the drawings or by the Engineer-in-charge, and top coat of exterior emulsion two or more coats of approved colour and shade, complete all as per specifications as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and Painting two coats of synthetic enamel paint on steel surfaces to give an even shade over a primer coat including preparation of the surfaces, scaffolding complete. as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge
Providing and Painting with Epoxy PU paint using 2 coats of (120 Micron dry film thickness) Epoxy PU high build coating as finishing coat over a priming coat of EPILUX-13 High Build primer of 50micron thickness over steel surfaces at all locations prepared and applied as per manufacturer'specifications including preparation of surface by cleaning with wire brush and rubbing, scraping, applying sand paper, making free of Rust, dust, dirt etc. filling the holes, joint, cracks if any using epoxy putty complete. all as per manufacturers technical data and as directed at site to achieve minimum over all dry Film thickness of 170micron (50Micron primer Coat + 120 micron finishing Coat). Providing and applying 20mm thick waterproofing plastering to the concrete and masonry surfaces, with cement mortar of ratio cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 screened river sand) mixed uniformly by machine with approved polypropylene fibres and mixing of approved water proof compound as per recommendations of the approved manufacturer or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, including raking out joints, hacking concrete surfaces and applying with approved chemical bonding agent, preparing junctions of concrete / masonry by neat cleaning, grouting with non-shrink mortar etc., at all heights and depths, leads and lifts, curing, etc. complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge. cost including conduting the water tightness test by filling and storing the water for 72 hours.
a) System shall consist of preparation of surfaces including ‘V’ grooves at junctions and joints, pressure grouting the same and curing. b) Applying cement slurry admixed with approved bonding agent recommended by manufacturer and allowed to cure. c) Walls plastering and finished smooth with about 20 mm thick with cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 screened river sand) using recommended proportion of waterproofing compound and polypropylene fibers. d) Making required wattas, rounding of corners; with 1:4 (1 cement : 4 screened river sand) admixed with waterproofing compound of recommended proportion and making junctions with walls and floor finished smooth, including and cured. e) Storage tank shall be tested by filling the water and maintaining it for 72 hrs. to check leakages. f) Contractor shall provide 10 year guarantee for waterproofing on approved proforma.
NOTE: Specialized agency to be approved by BARC. PRINCIPAL CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE GUARANTEE FOR STIPULATED TIME FOR THE WATERPROOFING WORKS DONE AT SITE. All surfaces to be waterproofed should be sound, clean and dry. Concrete surfaces should have a light steel-trowel followed by a fine hair-broom or equivalent finish, which is dry and free of dust, oil and other contaminants. All high spots should be removed. Moss and lichen must be removed physically followed by treatment with fungicidal wash to kill any spores and inhibit further growth. After treatment wash down thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. Grouting periphery of spout pipes with water insensitive epoxy, pressure grouting of construction joints and honey comb areas with cement grout, proper preparation of the concrete surface by mechanical means/hydro blasting to ensure a good bond between the topping and the substrata, testing of the surfaces prior to start the work, after completion and after a period of one month after completion by ponding, grouting or sealing of joints, making vatta at corners/junctions etc are deemed to be included for all items while quoting rates contractor shall give both material and performance guarantee in the format acceptable by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and laying integral cement based water proofing treatment With Average thickness of 120 mm and minimum thickness at khurra as 65 mm including preparation of surface as required for treatment of roofs, balconies, terraces etc. consisting of following operations: (i) Applying and grouting a slurry coat of neat cement by pump using 2.75 Kgs / sq.m of cement admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 over RCC slab including adjoining walls up to 300 mm height including cleaning the surface before treatment. (ii) Providing and laying 20 mm thick plastering using cement mortar 1:5 (with coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and treating similarly the adjoining walls up to 300 mm height including rounding (Vatta) of junctions of walls and slabs. The entire surface shall be ponded with water for a period of 3 days and observed for leakage if any. In case any leakage is observed, the effected area shall be sealed by grouting with cement and shall be checked again for any leakages and this process shall be repeated till no further leakages are observed. (iii) Laying brick bats set in cement mortar 1:5 using broken brick bats 25 mm to 115 mm size with cement mortar 1:5 (using coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and approved by Engineer-in-charge to required slope and treating similarly the adjoining walls up to 300 mm height including rounding (Vatta) of junctions of walls and slabs. The entire surface shall be ponded with water for a period of 10 days and observe for leakage if any. In case of any leakage observed, the effected area shall be sealed by grouting with cement and further leakage to be checked for again.
(iv) After 10 days of proper curing applying a second coat of cement slurry admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and approved by Engineer-in-Charge. (v) Finishing the surface with 20 mm thick jointless cement mortar of mix 1:4 (using coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and approved by Engineer-in-charge including mixing ''polyster fibre of approved quality' at the rate of 125 grams per 50 Kgs of Cement in top layer of plaster and finally finishing the surface with trowel with neat cement slurry and making pattern of 300 X 300 mm square, 3 mm deep. (vi) The whole terrace so finished shall be flooded with water for a minimum period of 2 weeks for curing and for final test. All above operations to be done in order, complete all as per technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Contractor shall provide 10 year guarantee for waterproofing on approved proforma.
Extra over 120 mm thick Cement based water proofing for Providing and Laying Brick bat coba in Roof, laying brick bats set in with cement mortar using broken brick bats 25 mm to 115 mm size with 50% Escalation of cement mortar 1:5 (using coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and approved by Engineer-in-charge over 20 mm thick layer of cement mortar 1:5 (using coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and approved by Engineer-in-charge to required slope. (Measurement will be over and above the average thickness of 120 mm only)
Providing and laying water proofing treatment in sunken portions of WCs, bath rooms etc. by applying cement slurry mixed with water proofing cement compound consisting of applying: (a) 1st layer of slurry of cement @ 0.488 Kgs / sq.m mixed with water proofing cement compound @ 0.253 Kgs per sq.m. including injecting cement slurry. This layer will be allowed to air cure for 4 hours. (b) 2nd layer of slurry of cement @ 0.242Kgs / sq.m mixed with water proofing cement compound @ 0.126 Kgs / sq.m. This layer will be allowed to air cure for 4 hours followed with water curing for 48 hours. (c)Finishing the surface with 20 mm thick joint less cement mortar of mix 1:4 (using coarse sand) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 and, complete all as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge including mixing ''polyster fibre of approved quality' at the rate of 125 grams per 50 Kgs at the rate of 125 grams per 50 Kgs of Cement in top layer of plaster and finally finishing the surface with trowel with neat cement slurry in bottom and all the sides of sunken portion. The rate includes preparation of surface, treatment and sealing of all joints, corners, junctions of pipes and masonry with polymer mixed slurry. The treatment to be tested for water tightness before filling the sunken areas, Cost quoted shall include all materials and labourand as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Contractor shall provide 10 year guarantee for waterproofing on approved proforma.
