COMPREHENSIVE MAINT OF EOT AND HOT CRANES INSIDE NAVAL DOCKYARD UNDER AGE E/M NO-III OF GE(U-1) VISAKHAPATNAM

[d] Supply of spares catered vide Serial Item No. 2.01 to 2.25 of BoQ for maintenance shall be measured and paid separately as "Supply Only" whenever required and rate quoted for Serial Item No. 1 of BoQ shall be excluding of supply of the same. However, Labour / manpower charges including taking down, dismantling and fixing / repairs etc. for these spares (Serial Item No. 2.01 to 2.25) shall be deemed to be included in the rate quoted under this item of comprehensive maintenance. [e] Servicing of HOT Cranes Chain Pulley Block twice during the Contract Period and Cost of any minor spares required other than specified herein below shall be deemed to have been included in unit rate quoted against this item. [f] The unit rate quoted for Comprehensive Maintenance shall be deemed to be inclusive for Load Testing for each crane ONCE during the contract period under 110% of full load capacity of cranes on hoisting, long travel and cross travel for checking the performance including deflection test with necessary manpower, instruments, necessary internal transportation required complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Load / Deflection Test for all EOT Cranes shall be carried out by the contractor through Licensed Crane Inspector in presence of department representative as directed by the GE & user representative and test results shall be recorded and necessary certificate shall be obtained from Licensed Crane Inspector and submitted to the department. The loads required for the testing and necessary transportation shall be arranged by the respective user at the sites, but the man power / instruments / internal transport required for testing at different locations shall be arranged by the contractor. [g] The unit rate quoted for Comprehensive Maintenance shall be deemed to be inclusive for topping up of Gear Oil of Grade SP 320 as and when required as per capacity of Gear Box, Injecting and applying Grease as and when required and Rectification of Oil leakages if any from LT Gear Box of Cranes. [h] The unit rate quoted for Comprehensive Maintenance shall be deemed to be inclusive for painting of all cranes with one coat of synthetic enamel paint of approved shade as required ONCE during the contract period as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. [j] Conveyance and communication system like mobile phone etc. shall be provided by the contractor to the Crane Mechanic and Helper and cost of the same shall be deemed to have been included in unit rate quoted against this item. [k] The contractor shall abide by the latest Labour Rules and Minimum Wages Act. [l] Wages paid by the contractor to the persons employed shall not be less than the minimum wages fixed by State/ Central Government whichever is higher. [m] The contractor is responsible for making subscription towards EPF, ESI etc., as applicable for Workmen as per existing Labour Rules / Acts / Regulations and rate quoted shall be deemed to be included for the same. [n] The contractor shall be responsible for all Accidents / Injuries happening to the workmen. Any accident causing Minor / Fatal Injury, Partial Disability due to any untoward incident or non-adherence to Safety and IE Regulations or fault in maintaining of crane System / Safety Mechanism or on account of any mishandling / wrong operation / lack of knowledge of safety precautions or on account of any circumstances beyond his/their control, the contractor shall be solely responsible for settling all claims of compensation to the deceased, failing which department will have a right to recover any sum indicated / claimed by Labour Commissioner / Court authorities. No claim whatsoever will be entertained in this regard. No compensation is payable by the department on this account. Contractor shall provide first aid boxes to meet any emergency situations.

Supply only following spares suitable for EOT/HOT cranes as specified:- Note:- Labour / manpower charges including taking down, dismantling and fixing / repairs etc. for these spares shall considered to be included in the quoted rate against Item for comprehensive maintenance (Item No 1 to 1.01 of this BOQ)

S&F in repairs gear wheel shaft for crane upto 3 Ton capacity & of make as per OEM including taking down and servicing of gear box, greasing and re-installing with proper alignment of gear boxes etc., testing on completion complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

M&L for alignment of EOT crane tracks of upto 5 Ton capacity on both sides, including gas cutting, welding and grinding for smooth functioning of crane travel upto the bay length of 52 Mtr complete all as specififed and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
