Excavation in earthwork in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soils including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting , blasting workshall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedgingout rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification of rural roads, and clause 16.2( Sixteen point two) of General conditions for Contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposaland dumping to be arranged by the contractor of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth riding. The recovery for stones, whether useful or not, for 981.75 cubic metre ( Nine hundred eighty one point seven five) cubic metre) in all cases @ Rupees 170/- ( Rupees one hundred seventy only) per cubic metre shall be effected on prorata basis. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.
