PROVISION OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT STP AT ICGS VADINAR
Design of sewage network as per existing norms and standards for Vadinar station including vetting of design of sewage network from IIT/NIT and obtaining approval from Accepting Officer. The topographic survey of required areas shall be carried out to decide the best and most economical route/ alignment of the sewage lines in most efficient manner. The design of sewage network shall be done to carry sewage through gravity till sewage treatment plant as far as possible and to avoid intermediate pumping. Pumping arrangement shall be incorporated only if transport of sewage through gravity is not possible or becomes uneconomical. The cost benefit analysis shall be done prior to deciding the best alignment/ arrangement of sewage network. Following points to be considered while designing sewage network:- (a) Depth of sewer network to be restricted upto 3.5m depth. In exceptional cases, depth can be increased to 4m but not more than cumulative 5% of total sewer network. (b) When water table is high, avoid sewer network being submerged under water table for more than 10% during high water flow (can vary as per location). (c) Manholes spacing to be ensured as per CPHEEO Manual for Sewerage and Sewage Disposal 2013. In cases when sewer cleaning machine for long length are available for Maintenance & Operation (M & O), the distance can be increased accordingly. However all junctions will have manholes with drop of 30mm. (d) Self-cleansing velocity to be provided atleast once a day. Where velocity is not achieved, flushing point using treated waste water to be placed. Automatic Flushing Tank (AFT) can also be used. (e) Initial excavation depth of sewer can be reduced to 0.8m and in exceptional cases 0.65m, provided overburden is within design limit of sewer network. Wherever sewer line depth is less than 1m, caution markers be placed. Potable water pipleline not to be placed below the sewer pipeline.
