Scrapping & removing the marine growth from Propeller blades. Polishing of propeller blades and hub in position.
Propeller shaft rope guard to be removed, measure and record propeller drop before removal and after fitment of the shaft and rope guard to be fitted back. Drain stern tube oil, collect in drums. Filling of oil post completion of overhauling.
The Propeller shaft is to be withdrawn, dismantled, cleaned, serviced and offered to Surveyor, MMD for inspection. As per the recommendations of the Surveyor propeller shaft is to be serviced. Tail shaft survey to be carried out. Record all bush readings.
The propeller blades DP test and shaft MP test is to be carried out. DP test kit to be arranged by contractor.
Poker gauge readings are to be taken before dismantling & after assembling of the propeller shat. All shaft seals incuding push pull rod are to be renewed. The shaft is to be assembled on board, after fitment. Renewal of FWD and AFT seals and other spares and required (seal and spares HSL Supply)
Overhauling of CPP hub: (Anticipatory works) a) CPP hub oil to be drained. CPP blades to be removed. b) Hub dismantling to be carried out. Cleaning of hub and associated components to be done. c) All clearance to be recorded. d) As required spares and seals to be replaced. e) CPP hub to be assembled back and oil filling to be done.
