Submission of detailed soil investigation at the proposed site of RCC over head reservoirs of cap 50,000 Gln & preparation of the investigation report with proper recommendatinos of type of foundation to be adopted incl safe bearing capacity and photographic records (in soft and hard copies) of the investigation process. Depth of bore hole-21 Mtr as specified below :-
(a) Drilling of test boreholes of 125-150mm dia by shell & angur casing as per IS 1892-1979. The depth of bore hole shall be 21.00 meter.
(b) SPT (Standard penetration test) as per IS 2131-1981 conducted by means of split spoon as specified in the standard, furnishing of the data about resistance of the soil to penetration which can be used to evaluate standard data such as N value (number of bearing capacity of soil based on N value as specified in IS 6403-1981 per 30 cm of penetration using standard split spoon) of the soil. Methods of calculation of bearing cap of soil based on N value as specified in IS 6403-1981. The testing may be terminated earlier if N value reaches 50.
(c) Sub Soil Stratification : Based on the field & laboratory test data stratification be enumerated for BH at various depth incl level of water table.
(d) Collection of disturbed/undisturbed sample as per IS-2132-1986 and carrying out following Lab tests. (i) Sieve Analysis. (ii) Consolidation Characterstics. (iii) Particle size distribution. (iv) Wet & dry density. (v) Specific gravity, C value moisture content. (vi) Plasticity index (vii) Natural moisture content. (viii) Shear strength characterstics. (ix) Swelling pressure & free swell index for claey soils.
(e) Conductiong plate load test as per IS5429-1992 where essential will be decided in consultation with the soil investigation agency-04 Nos Tests (01 test per 03 Bore Holes).
(f) Evaluation of safe bearing capacity based on shear failure and settlement criteria as per IS 1904-1986 IS 8009 Part-I & II. Allowable bearing cap at various depths of 1.0m, 1.2m, 1.5m, 2.0m & more as required below ground level to be given with suggestion for economic width & type of foundation to be adopted.
(g) Carrying out swelling test of soil.
(h) Recommendation for suitability of the earth obtained from foundation trenches for back filling & filling under floor.
